Bank of Edwardsville the Main Office

I had been banking with BoE for six years. I liked their service in the first few years. I remember planning a trip to Japan three years ago and they were very helpful in transferring my American dollars to Yen. They have also been helpful in one case in which I had brief identity theft.
But I’m not sure how I feel about them lately. I don’t know if it’s just this location but I sense a sour attitude from the bankers. This was confirmed today when I closed my account.
I had not choice but to close it though– I have moved to St. Louis and their branch doesn’t extend to Missouri. It just doesn’t make sense for me to drive thirty minutes just to do my banking!
I told them it was nothing against them, just that I moved and I was given a huffy attitude regardless.
Even if you’re loosing business (and for reasonable reasons!) it is unprofessional to treat a customer this way. Later that day I also closed a savings account at another bank and they handled the news so much better than BoE.
