I never understood the appeal of Chipotle restraunts, when Freebirds makes a far superior burrito. Amazing food, excellent service, and good music. Also the silver My Little Pony with the backwards F logo on her rump sitting above the counter makes me smile every time I see it.

There is something always wrong with the way the food tastes at this Freebirds. Except for this location I love Freebirds

I used to be a huge fan, now not so much. The quality of food has declined and the service has gone down. I have witnessed employees with their feet on the tables during their break. I have asked that burritos be rewrapped because they were ripped and received eye rolls. Not just one less than desirable experience, but multiple.

I had a burrito and my husband had nachos. The Nachos: chips were some generic kind that weren’t all that fresh. They do give you a big pile but if you add toppings the price starts to go up. The burrito: first of all they don’t advertise organics and natural items like Chipotle and frankly the flavor of some of there fresh veggies are rather bland. I’m thinking GMO. The other issue I had was my $ 6.50 burrito ended up almost $ 12 with what I added. They even charge for a sprinkle of cheese. I was like really? I get charging for guacamole but even that you get half as much as chipotle for the same price. At one point I thought they were going to slap a «fold the tortilla into a burrito» fee. The corn on the burrito was overwhelmingly spice. The cheese was mere sprinkle for the charge. $ 22 for the two dishes with two items that started out at $ 7 each. This was my first time eating at Freebirds except for when my company caters for meetings. Going forward, that’s the only time I’ll be eating Freebirds.

The food is always fast, hot and tasty, but guys, I can pour on all the salt I want for myself. Please tone it down. That alone would be worth another star or two.

It’s okay. It’s a more expensive Chipotle. They just have a couple different rice options.

These guys have great food but the service is awful. The employees look like they hate their jobs, the production line is glacial slow, they get something about your order wrong every time, and you can’t hear what they say because there’s a speaker in your ear playing music. Seriously, smile once in a while.

The Jimmy Johns of burritos and by that i mean they are freak fast. Sometimes when it’s really busy they ask too many questions too fast. I always get a «how is your day going» before they start. This may sound weird, but it’s one of the few places that i actually feel like they care haha. I had one friend describe the food as plain. Honestly if you make it right i don’t see how it could be ever be the truth. With the options of cilantro or spanish rice, three different beans, lime juices etc… it’s hard not to have something exploding with flavor. I will say the steak actually has the best explosion of flavor. Oh dang, i forgot to mention the tortilla themselves… three to choose from!!! The freebird will fill you up and not let you down. A super solid choice for lunch.

I have been a fan of Freebirds for a while. No more 2 taco combo? Darn. But they still have tacos and all of the usual tasty options. Why oh why did you pulverize all of the ingredients inside the burrito? Before the burrito was rolled up, the server used the sides of the tortillas to smash together all of the stuff inside. I guess it’s supposed to combine everything, but it made the inside mushy. Maybe it’s a new thing at Freebirds? I’ve never seen it before. Oh well, now I know for next time.

Don’t listen to the other reviews. This place is simply outstanding. The burritos are awesome and especially the steak burritos. You can get fresh avocado slices in your burritos. Who can say no to that. I love the staff here. They are super sweet. Why go to that other burrito place when you can come here.

I have eaten here a couple times because it is close to work. It’s not half bad, and I enjoy the spice(heat) of burritos/tacos. Not sure if it’s the chicken or what making it spicy but it’s really good. The staff is always absolutely amazing. Really kind and helpful. Unfortunately I hate to be the person to do this, but the prices are a bit steep compared to their counterparts Chipotle or Qdoba. I ordered a quesadilla and a beer and it was $ 14. Ouch for a quick lunch. It was good, wasn’t amazing.

The Spanish rice tasted like mush and the steak didn’t taste like anything. The kitchen area was dingy and dirty. The Queso dip was decent, but nothing to write home to mom about. I’ll take Moe’s every time over this place. The best part was the staff. Very pleasant and helpful…

Love Freebirds! Its clean and the food is delicious! $ 10 for a HUGE pile of nachos and a drink — enough for 2 people to share. Hate that everytime I go in they are out or low on something… Steak, beans, etc and it’s always a big surprise(even though no other customers are in the place and there are 5 employees mulling around) and it’s a cluster and long wait to get the items that someone should’ve been watching to insure they aren’t low. That’s why they only get 3 stars from me. Have had them cater events several times and its always a hit. Grapevine is the best location for catering(have catered in Grapevine, Dallas, Waco, Houston & Austin) Im a fan and will be back. Just hope employees realize that if the place closes because they don’t have enough business it’s their own fault. They need to get it together.

Freebirds upper management has made a huge colossal mistake with their«new» pricing. I understand raising prices to account for inflation but doing away with combos. Hello that’s a staple in fast casual dining. I have been eating here since it opened and my usual 2 taco combo with chips queso and drink was about $ 7.75 I have had that about 100 times. This past week everything is a la carte so the 2 tacos and drink only came to $ 9.75. I will redeem my Fanatic Rewards points and then NEVEREVER eat at Freebirds again. Chipotle will get my business and I haven’t eaten there in years. To the suits whatever marketing or consulting firm you hired or focus groups you listened to should all be fired.

I am a huge fan of Freebirds, just not this location. The food was cold and the queso, which I usually love Freebirds queso, was so spicy it was not edible. We arrived at the typical dinner time rush and should have known that something was wrong when there was only 1 other person in the restaurant. The person who served me was extremely rude, however the person who served my husband was friendly. The restaurant was dirty. I found it amazing because in the 45 minutes we were there they had a total of 3 customer and had multiple employees working or rather hanging out. The bathroom was the grossest bathroom I have ever been in. I will spare details and just say my 3 year old was crying because he was stuck to the floor. Literally, the floor was so sticky I had to pry his shoe off of the floor. And the floor wasn’t the dirtiest part of the bathroom. Disappointed and definitely won’t return to this Freebirds location

Great selection. Friendly people working there. Points system is really good too. Have had them cater events and it was a big hit. If you go with steak, make sure you add lime juice. If you come in the back, watch out for the GIANT pothole in the rear of the parking lot.

Burrito makers are too few and lines are longer than they should be. The food is good but overpriced for what you get.

The people here are very friendly and will make any meal built to order. I am in disagreement with the cleanliness of this location with the previous reviewer. This location seems cleaner than most freebird locations and restaurants in GV. The food is always good here and tastes fresh. Since the staff is very friendly and always wants to answer your questions, I had to ask what is the most frequently asked question? The employee said the question was if they had pot in their brownies. He sadly stated that this was TX and that there wasn’t any pot on the Freebird brownies. He continued that if they did sell pot brownies they would be super busy. That interaction gave me a laugh, and will bring me back to this location.

Although the ingredients were fresh, I felt like the overall dish was disappointing. I ordered the bowl and felt like the quantity was lacking. I actually had to go get more lunch after this meal. I don”t think I’ll ever go back. Folks were nice though and the décor was awesome. Felt a little out of place in Southlake… like it was trying waaaaay to hard to be hip.
