I came here a few weeks ago and I was disappointed in the bakery selection because I had my 3 year old and I wanted to get him a sugar cookie. They didn’t have any which is weird so he picked out a cupcake and I got a cookie. The cookie was good(nothing special) but the cupcake which was strawberry was nasty and went straight to the trash

I’d love to say that the coffee is great & the ambiance is cozy and inviting. Or that I didn’t really care for the coffee, and could’ve gotten something better at a similar price at the Starbucks that’s not too far. But I can’t. On a windy Wednesday night like tonight, for the THIRD time, I tried to visit and check it out, only to find that it was closed. I’ve tried different times & different days, to no avail. Being in the same city(which is a teeny tiny city) & not being able to attend is incredibly frustrating. Third time’s the charm. I give up on the place. Too bad.

Watching Holiday Baking on Food network so naturally I could go for a cupcake … :-) I got a coupon for Parkside and figured Id give it a try. I ordered Salted Caramel. First taste, icing: SALTY harsh taste of pure salt … I figured meh … I then scrape the salty layer of icing off … still have a MASSIVE mound of the icing led. I then taste the cake: DRY … still I say meh when I get it home I will do as I usually do, scrape off icing and then add a bit back on(I hate overly sweet desserts). Got home scraped icing off, pop cake in good old microwave … I put some icing back on and in for an appropriate bite. Third taste: ASSERTIVESALTY … I didnt care for it. The cake was dry, crumbly and no flavor. The icing too salty and and overly sweet. Left a wax coating or film in my mouth(reminiscent of lard based commercial icing). Left a waxy coating or taste in the roof of my mouth amd the cake was too dry and albeit salted caramel, it was just too salty. I dont know why they dont put the salt IN the Carmel vs sprinkling the coarse salt atop. Im afraid to say, I wont return. The coupon said new management so I hope and pray this evenutally works for Parkside.

This small little bakery is always a great place to go. Right when you walk in, the sweet smell of cupcakes and cookies is just so good! All of the things they make are so delicious, and everything is so sweet! The cupcakes have extravagant flavors, the cookies are always soft, and the cake-pops are always just so amazing! The workers are very nice, and they are always very helpful. Overall, I love Parkside bakery and I will definitely go back!

So I was really wanting a good piece of cake today so I jumped on my ipad to see if there were any good bakeries around and Parkside popped up and looked to have some good reviews. Went to their website and everything looked good so I jumped in the car with my niece who is visiting from out of town to take the short ride from Lawrenceville to Grayson to enjoy some baked goodies. Found the bakery with no problem walked in saw two young ladies in the back sitting on the prep tables one jumped down quickly to greet us, so far so good. One thing that I noticed was there were no baked goods displayed in front you have to go around to the side where they have a small case with their goodies still no problem, but for me that’s where all of the good things stopped. They only had two cakes to choose from and they both had the same frosting and both were more than half gone, but that’s ok just hope they are fresh. I chose the raspberry cake the other option was salted caramel my niece chose a chocolate cake pop, and I got two cupcakes for my wife and daughter(red velvet and strawberry). I am getting everything to go in the hopes of having a very delicious desert. As the young lady’s ringing me up I ask how often do you have different cakes and she says to me with a slight attitude we leave these in there for only up to 4 or 5 days. I say fine but that’s not what I’m asking I was just wondering is there a schedule for different flavors(I really wanted some strawberry shortcake) to which she answers it just whatever or whenever we feel which is ok I guess… So my niece couldn’t wait till we got home to eat her cake pop so she started it on the way home and says to me this is so nasty but I don’t try any I just think she doesn’t know good baked goods and leave it at that. So now the time has come after dinner to try the other goodies and to my surprise these baked goods SUCK like really SUCK they were the driest cupcakes and cake I have ever ever tried. Listen people I always have thought Kroger had the worst bakery department in GA this place tasted like they were selling what Kroger were throwing out. Not only were the items dry they all tasted the same just pure bland. Now I’m a very fair person and far from cheap but for their prices I just knew I was in for a treat wow was I wrong my daughter wouldn’t even take another bite from her cupcake and she eats everything my wife went on for about an hour about the poor quality of the baked goods coming from a place that has Bakery as the second name on their establishment which made it that much worst because I had to listen to her because I bought the nasty baked goods. I will never go back and to be fair not just because the baked goods suck(the main reason) but I don’t want to hear my wife’s mouth about my bad judgment.

I love this place. The stuffed cookies are sooooo good! Especially the sugar cookie one with the white frosting filling. It’s so yummy. The cake slices are big and heavy and have tons of frosting, so if that’s your thing then you’ll love it! The cranberry orange muffins are very good as well. You really can’t go wrong with any of their bakery items. They are worth the money. They also have sandwiches and stuff like that but I’ve never had one.

Their baked goods are great, their coffees are great, their sandwiches are good too. But their personalities suck. Not the most warm, nice people around, that’s for sure.

Love this place! They have so many different lattes to choose from. I’ve tried coconut mocha and dark chocolate mocha. There cupcakes and cake pops are very good. The pimento cheese is awesome! Love the Tabasco touch to it. This is a frequent stop for me.

The meh — I had the chicken salad sandwich on sourdough bread. The chicken salad is too sweet for me especially if you are eating a cookie/cupcake or a slice of cake afterwards. It actually makes you not want a dessert after the sandwich. The bad — If you decide to get a slice of cake and it has already been cut into then get ready to experience some dry cake. And to top it off at $ 3.95 a slice it really puts a «dry» taste in your mouth. I’m very surprised that they do not put a small square piece of wax paper where it has been cut to avoid this problem. I guess they also don’t realize that when you put a cake in a «refrigerator environment» it dries it out because a refrigerator is nothing but a dehumidifier, therefore you have to make accomodations to rectify this problem. The good — Without a doubt they give you heaping portions on everything. The sandwiches have so much filling in them that you could easily make three sandwiches out of it. The same with the cake slices, you most definitely have enough to share. With the exception of a cupcake or cookie — they of course have a more«portion controlled» status about them, but still very good and enough to satisfy your sweet tooth. Their«sweet tea» will also satisfy any true southerner at heart. And finally anyone will enjoy the wonderful«café like» atmosphere as soon as you walk in. Very quaint with an «old country store feeling».

Had a peanut butter cupcake today, freshly made. Should have been awesome, right? The cake is tasteless and the icing was fair. I am not an expert on cupcakes, but I know what taste good. What ingredients are they using? Must buy it from someone instead of making it themselves. It is not worth any price to me.

This place is yummy! I was sad to see Blue Rooster in Lilburn close because their chicken salad was my favorite EVER! I heard that there was a similar café that served the exact same chicken salad. So I decided to try it out and I bought the lunch bag with chicken salad, drink, cookie, and chips for $ 10. It was soo good! So happy to have this place right down the street from me!

Nice place with some good baked goods and coffee; fairly priced and fresh. Haven’t tried their sandwich offerings(Lunch Bags) yet but they seem to be popular as I watched quite a few people leave with them.

WOW! This is the best bakery this area has seen! From sandwiches to desserts they have it all. Their sandwiches are very large and a great deal for the price you pay. Their baked good always taste very fresh, and their staff is great to deal with. They are always having specials on Facebook, so you should like them there!
