AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL!!! Our family was very disappointed in how Malcore handled our mother’s funeral arrangements. The funeral director we worked with following her death was awkward and seemed very inexperienced, which surprised us, with Malcore being a family-​run business, and our funeral director being part of the Malcore family. When he helped us write her obituary, for example, the grammar and lack of basic writing skills surprised my whole family, and we were left with no choice but to create the obituary on our own. Second, the lack of direction provided by our «funeral director» was very disappointing and made for a very unorganized visitation and service. Also, we were very unhappy that our funeral director from Malcore and his assistant, Bridget, removed all of the beautiful flowers and plants given in my mom’s honor from the front of the church prior to the service, which was not explained to us, and really took away from the beauty of the service. The funeral procession also lacked organization, as w/​no flags or means to identify the procession, cars were cut off and lost en route to the cemetary. In addition our family didn’t expect NUMEROUS last minute costs be added that were not disclosed at our meeting with Malcore, or at any meetings involving my mother, who preplanned every part of her funeral. Most importantly we feel our mother was mislead when she met with Bridget numerous times prior to her passing to make funeral arrangements, as many things that were promised her were not delivered. For example, at several meetings between Bridget and our family, involving my mother, Bridget was made aware of how important it was to my mother to have a slideshow containing numerous pictures of her displayed at the funeral. Bridget repeatedly promised my mother she would take care of this with no added cost. Our mother even picked out the pictures she wished to be included in the slideshow and gave them to Bridget prior to her passing. However, after our mother’s passing, Bridget’s complete demeanor changed as she became a colder, less sympathetic, less understanding, completely different person than what my mother and family saw when we met with her while Mom was alive, and suddenly, Malcore was unable to create a slideshow of the pictures unless we wanted to pay $ 100 for a TEN PICTURE slideshow. Overall we were highly disappointed in the service we received from Malcore and wish we would have known the low quality of service they offer prior to choosing them to help us in putting on a final event in honor of our mother and wife, which we can never get back.
