Benson Property Management

Currently we aren’t renting a property from Benson but they have been nothing but spectacular helping us find a property. We have a 6 year old lab and most people aren’t interested in renting to pet owners. They have gone out of their way to talk to owners about us specifically and help us look for the perfect home. I’m so great-​full for all their help and I hope we can rent from them in the near future!

I haven’t actually rented from Benson, but I did indicate an interest in one of their advertised properties. I emailed them my initial pre-​qualifying questionnaire on a property. Then I never heard back; or at least so I thought. I didn’t get the voicemail until two days later, due to some issues with my phone. By the time I contacted them, they already had applications on the property. It’s a very competitive rental market right now! I’m sure my excuse must have seemed flaky to them, but they were very kind, understanding, and apologetic that I’d missed my chance. What really blew me away today (a week later), though, is that Shawna called and left me a message about a property about to come available, to see if I was still looking. I called her back and discussed my price point and she said she’d be in touch if something meeting my needs came available. I am super impressed by this, because I feel like most property management companies have such a flood of applicants, they never get back to you on things, you really have to be proactive as a prospective tenant. I appreciate that she took the time to check in with me, as a potential customer. So, even if I never find a property through their company, five stars in my book!

Overall a good company, the only complaint I would have is the extra $ 25 a month charged to keep a cat. If you could have a child for no extra rent, why would a cat cost $ 300 more a year except to demonstrate a blatant greed on the part of the rental company. And of course exactly one year later my rent is going up $ 25 as soon as my lease is up. Respond well to problems in your home and maintenance issues.
