Nonnie’s Bake Shop

One afternoon in search of the best Gresham area cupcake I came upon Nonnie’s Bake Shop (via Unilocal). Now to clarify, I have NOT completed an exhaustive exploration of the areas cupcake offerings, I was merely embarking on said search.
Nonnie’s is located in a inconspicuous stretch of shops. Walking in, the shop is quaint yet inviting. The spread of baked goods is not abundant but just from a glance constructed with care.
On my visit there were 3 flavors, Vanilla with Vanilla frosting, Chocolate with Chocolate frosting and Chocolate with Mint Frosting. I got all three! (Don’t judge, I was child free and a bit giddy not to share my treasure of sugary goodness).
The price for each cupcake was astonishingly affordable ($ 1.50/ea) which was a pleasant surprise compared with the other cupcake shops in the area pricing anywhere from $ 2.50 to $ 3.00 per cupcake. I had a quick but pleasant interaction with the owner and retreated to my car to consume my treat – a betrayal that my toddler would never forgive if he found out.
The Vanilla Vanilla was my first. Upon first bite I was in love. The cake was not too sweet and perfectly moist. Then there was the frosting. I will say I am the first to scrape frosting off of any cake or cupcake (I know! Blasphemy!) but I would dare not scrape this perfectly sweet not overpowering and light yet decadent frosting. I was pretty sad when it was all over but then realized I had two left! The remaining flavors were just as pleasing and again it was the frosting that stood out. Perfectly satisfying my cupcake needs.
Overall, even though their is not an abundant selection, I have a sneaky suspicion that whatever flavor of the day is available you can come to expect a well done cupcake. I do believe I will be returning however I cannot promise that I will be any better of a sharer :)

Everything Trina does is fabulous… she puts her whole heart into it. I’ve never had anything I didn’t love. Her cookies and scones are out of this world… a must try if you are in Gresham!

This shop is amazing! The owner is very good at what she does and works very hard to make you quality coffee and bakery items. I come here every morning and she remembers what coffee I like. I recommend anyone that lives in the area to stop by and check her out!

Best scones I have ever tasted. If you like dry biscuit like scones, don’t shop here. Their scones are light and fluffy and moist with just the right amount of sweetness. And don’t even get me started on the sugar cookies! They look as good as they taste! (Plus the owner is super sweet!)

Decisions, decisions… when I can’t decide which is best, carrot cake or vanilla I get both. This is My absolute go to bakery when I have to have the best cake and frosting near Gresham, OR.
