Shrimp Basket

The food is plentiful and the prices are decent the food is lacking… No flavor. Boring shrimp in the shrimp boil… no flavor in fried shrimp or catfish. The catch of the day was snapper it too was a disappointment. I can say the hush puppies were amazing … They serve shrimp slaw also not any flavor. It was like the entire place was missing salt and pepper… the staff is very nice and our drinks were never empty the wait was super short even on Saturday night. I think next time we will pass

This place was great! Busy but worth the wait. I got blackened shrimp tacos, another person got all you can eat popcorn shrimp and we simply enjoyed ourselves to the max. The popcorn shrimp had a nice seasoning which we really enjoyed. The food was served really fast and the staff was nice. Definitely worth checking out.

Everyone has a different experience at places And unfortunately we had a bad one here. The server was one of the rudest people I have met. We ordered the endless shrimp baskets, and after we ate our first serving we asked for another. After the second serving only one of us asked for a third serving, this really irritated him. Before the 3^rd serving came out he walked around with a pitcher of water and tea, he looked at our empty glasses and kept walking. After he brought it out, he picked one of the empty glasses up and took it in the back. He came back with the ticket and no drink. Before we put the card in the sleeve he walked around with more water and tea, only to look at us. I wouldn’t have cared as much, but he asked both the table on our left and right if they needed anything else, while just staring at us in the eye. I believe he is a homophobic jerk (I would say worse but PG reviews).
They get a ³⁄₅ stars because the food was good for the money.

Great beach fare! It’s small, casual, and perfect for an easy meal when you don’t want to have to get fancy. I think I may have an addiction to the shrimp cole slaw. What can make cole slaw better? Putting tiny shrimps inside! I get the seafood basket at pretty much every seafood restaurant I go to at the beach, and this one was one of the best I had. The fish was perfectly fried, not too heavy on the breading. And the basket came with fried crab, which was awesome. The hush puppies were not as fluffy as I like, they were too dense for my taste, but other than that, a great meal for a little less than you would spend at some of the bigger more touristy places.

It is a chain so you get what you get. Lots of food per order. Crab claws are good. Price is good. Worth a try.

Seriously the best meal we had in gulf shores during our week long trip. A grilled shrimp and fish combo is only $ 12, which is a fantastic price for the area. The seafood is fresh, the service is good and the atmosphere is casual and relaxed. We will be back during our next trip.

Best shrimp basket I have had in a while besides my recent trip to the Bahamas. The portions are massive. The fried oysters are great and the fish was just right. My whole family and I are really picky about seafood places being Carribean but this place impressed even us.
The best place to sit is outside on the covered patio. The servers are atttentive and friendly. This is our new spot for seafood when we visit Orange Beach.

Don’t be scared if there is a crowd, they moved people in and out super quickly! This place was great. We shared a chicken strip po-​boy, it was delicious. A must visit.

All I have to say is that they had probably the 2^nd best oysters I’ve ever had in my life, hands down. This place cranks but we luckily slid in with our 4 top within 5 minutes. My buddy loved the oysters so much he ordered 3 dozen. Their fried shrimp are probably the best I’ve had in Gulf Shores. And don’t forget to try the red beans and rice with sausage. Servers were very friendly and patient for as slammed as they are. This is my place for oysters from now on and only $ 10 per dozen which your going to have a tough time finding anywhere in the area.

Everything is fried. I asked what local fish they had and the waiter said only the tuna. Red Snapper and all other fish were frozen and shipped in. I would not recommend if you want fresh local seafood. Isn’t that why we come to the coast?

Whitefish PoBoy was okay kinda bland, the stuffed crab, fried shrimp basket & chicken Alfredo were great. The service was also great!

I’ll certainly be back here! Had all you can eat catfish and was so pleased. Food was yummy! I would recommend to others.

We walked here from the beach. The food was pretty good. I enjoyed the shrimp more than the fish. It was pretty busy but our server was friendly and attentive.

Best meal I had while I was down. The definition of gulf coast seafood in my book. Little hole in the wall with old, campy beach décor. Quick and nice service, and affordable fresh seafood. I had big, fresh and tasty oysters on the half shell and a big bowl of shrimp étouffée. It was all you could eat popcorn shrimp day, and the «popcorn» shrimp were the size of entrée shrimp here in Atlanta. Not to mention fresh and delicious. Good sweet tea, and we had the smoked tuna dip to start. So good we got another order iced to take back with us. I also loved the house hot sauce, again taking a bottle back to Atlanta with me.
Just what I want for a Gulf Coast seafood hole, and will visit anytime I am down.

Stupid good hushpuppies, comfy inside and outside near the beach with a very nice variety and selection of fresh foods and some fantastic specials. Winner! They have 40 days thru the niddle of March with every day all-​u-​can eat fish, catfish or shrimp with shrimp slaw, hushpuppies and a side. But don’t worry after the every days are gone, you can still get the catch of the day white fish on Sunday and Wednesdays, and shrimp or catfish on other days, see me for fresh catch days. Today it was a white fish called SWAI and I had mine lightly battered and fried, wow it was melt on your mouth delicious, and they kept asking if I wanted more, Arrrgh of course I do! LOL
Gulnara (Oool-​nah-​tah) was an absolute delight as a server and a person, always making sure all of our glasses were full and never needing a thing, ask for her by name for sure. From beginning to end she made us feel welcome and glad that we came.
Sooooooo, with the prerequisite Jimmy Buffet and occasional Adele gently crooning in the background, IT comes on CCR’S «Who’ll Stop the Rain» pushing through the easy conversation as another round of piping hot hushpuppies arrive with the perfect drink. I say «IT» because it’s not just a great song, it’s the perfect song for this night, because last night had 7 – 14′ surfs, winds gusting to 40+ mph and crazy crazy rain and tornado warnings ver late into a night that started 28 hours and several hundred miles earliier. Yesterday was a tough one indeed, but this fresh off the boat seafood, shrmp slaw, crazy hushpuppies and buttered drenched new potatoes with that song, it just said it’s gonna be alright, you’re home. 《sigh》Okay now more about my newest favorite place :-)
Love your oysters, here’s a tip: Come here every 2^nd Tuesday 8 months out of the year (NOT MAY-​AUGUST) for .37 cent raw oysters! Yep, 4.44 per dozen, oh yeah. If you catch a rare chilly night on the water, try their soup sampler… shrimp etoufee, gumbo and red beans & rice for 7.99, warm more than your cockles :-)
Funnel cake fries you say? Well I was so crazy stuffed, but there they were, and I had to ask didn’t I? (see my picture of them) Yes I did, and wow they were really special tasty. They look like fries, but they’re funnel cake dough shaped into fries with powdered sugar, some secret warm spice and then drizzled with caramel. Save some room! I can’t believe I ate the whole thing!!!

Pretty good food. Great service! The oysters on ½ shell were fresh and good. I tried the Maui grilled tacos and to me they were very strong fish taste. Waitress brought white fish in exchange and much better… Hubby ate fried fish and shrimp basket. He said it was pretty good. We would come again. Oh the funnel cake straws are amazing!!!

The seafood is fresh & decently priced.
Went again on our first night in town & we had a great waitress, wish I had gotten her name… she was from Miami & very personable.
My husband had two orders of the oysters on the half shell, I had a shrimp po’boy.
Our teen boys had the all you can eat shrimp. (They have different specials on certain nights.)
I tried one of their piña coladas, and it was the best!
Highly recommend!

Fried shrimp basket comes with two hush puppies, a corn fritter, and a side. I got the red beans and rice, which were good. (I was disappointed after reading other reviews over the hush puppies – I didn’t think they were that great.)
Also represented at my table was a fried clam poboy, a grilled catfish poboy, and shrimp étouffée.
It’s a cute, beachy casual place with inside and outside dining. Service was good. Shrimp was a bit bland, but not a bad place to stop for lunch.

Mmmm… the Shrimp Basket. What a yummy way for my fiancé and I to spend a random June Wednesday. We started with the coconut shrimp which was perfectly sweet. I chose the crab cake platter as my entrée with delicious shrimp slaw and yummy fried okra. I loved the crab cakes, they were perfectly cooked and full of crab — so good! I will definitely be returning to the Shrimp Basket next year!
