Best bar in the heights, total dive feel but always gets crackin around midnight, fridays are more packed than saturdays. Steaks are bomb if you come early enough and are hungry…$ 23 steak and lobster on thursdays. Its always a wilson or los altos reunion but being that the heights is home for me… Thats a plus! Always a good time at the good ol sunset room:)

YUMMY!!! Thursday night Filet and Lobster with Veggies,…21.95 Fresh and cooked to perfection. Reasonable priced drinks, and music starts at 9pm. Friendly Bar and wait staff. Great hole in the wall with an old school vibe.

Came here tonight to hear my friend’s band play. I got here a little while before their set started and took a table.
When the band arrived my friend came to have a seat where I was sitting to say hello. The place was starting to get a little busy.
A few minutes later the bartender/​owner came over and asked if we were going to order anything. My friend told him he was with the band, I said I was waiting for the show to start. He proceeded to tell us that if we weren’t going to order anything, we would have to give up our table.
Pretty rude, if you ask me! I was considering ordering something, but, now I’m going to listen to my friend’s band and leave. I’ll likely never step back into this place after being treated like this!

Amazing service from the waitresses and djrek1 is amazing. I love the atmosphere and this is the place to be on the weekends. I threw my husbands birthday party here and it was memorable to say the least.

The bar is great the cocktail servers are friendly. but on Saturday the Dj was rude. Doesn’t know about customer service! I politely ask him to switch up the music & Had the nerve to tell me he has been dj 7 yrs at the bar & he knew what he was doing, pretty much telling me to (shut up) Djs are usually down to earth and nice but not this one
:-(Sometimes someone’s attitude can change mood unfortunately.

I gotta admit. I love this spot. It’s dark, dim, and at first a little scary. However, once you get over this feeling, the bartenders are awesome, the music is awesome, and they have sports games on the screen AND they’ll change it to whatever you want to see.
Full liquor and beer served, plus food. They have drink/​food specials written on the board when you walk in.
Thanks to Peter and Tai for being the most awesome bartenders, even with my crazy friends and SNF (Sunday Night Football). We’ll see you guys again.
Tips: On Sundays, their kitchen closes at 5 pm, but they don’t mind if you go to the liquor store for snacks or grab some grub from the deli next door, which closes at 6, and eat inside (just don’t make a mess, ya?)
They have a lobster and steak meal, $ 32, that goes for $ 22.95 on Thursday nights.
Betcha you’ll be seeing us again!
Parking: shares a lot with a liquor store, a few other establishments, and a laundromat.

First time coming here and it is awesome! Great live music, with a dope dj! Definitely recommend the steak and lobster with the loaded baked potato!
Came here with my girl to check it out and we loved it. Vibe was really cool. Ended up staying for a while longer than we expected. Good experience, we’ll be back.

Aight… this is solely based on their bar w/​music experience.
The Sunset Room is in a run down shopping center and not much to look at in the outside. Was not expecting much as we pulled in. But I was pleasantly surprised. The security at the door was cordial and respectful. Drinks are solid and… they have Lagunitas on draft!!! The DJ plays a variety for your disco bunnies all the way to your current generation not to mention kills it with «La Chona». The crowd is… well, not in their early twenties but descent and very fun.

I came to this place on Saturday night with my girlfriend we had some drinks they had a DJ who played continuos new music and nobody was dancing to the music it was just too modern

Most of the people there are over 25 years of age
I was hoping and waiting for the Dj maybe to play some old-​school funk hip-​hop disco new wave
rock en espanol but the DJ kept playing the same music over and over and so I can see why the dance floor was literally empty
I notice people leaving and problaby
Because of the music the Dj played wasn’t grabbing the attention of the people there
It must be a sad feeling when you’re DJing and no one is dancing to your music
As a DJ you can’t be selfish–
you have to read the crowd and feel what they want to dance to
This place has potential but with a DJ who plays music for high school kids it’s not going to get better

Yummie crab chowder and shrimp cocktail. They have a full menu. Steak and Lobster Thursday’s. Nice place for a drink after work to catch up with friends or watch a game on one of the four big screens. A friendly environment with friendly waitresses as well.

On my first visit, my friend and I walked over from a bar a couple of blocks down the street and almost went home because of the experience there but luckily we passed by Sunset Room and decided to go in after hearing the great music they were playing. If you are ever in Hacienda Heights this is the best local bar around.
I’ve only been here a couple of times but the few times I have been here I had a great time. The bartenders are awesome, the waitress is super friendly and the security guards were nice enough to call my friend and I a cab at the end of the night.

Wow this place was much better than I expected!
I had never been in a bar, let alone a dive bar, in Hacienda before, so I expected something ghetto. But I was wrong! I came on a Monday night, and this place was really clean, the waitress was really nice, and in general the crowd there was pretty nice too. Mondays are comedy nights. The comedians were funny! And on to the drinks, they are super cheap and so strong! Love it! I got really buzzed from one gin and tonic!
If I drink in Hacienda again, I would definitely come back here!
