I have been to the restaurant, the food was really delicious and it was timely served. The people were really friendly and i felt it totally worth. I ordered gobi manchurian and chicken tikka masala and an order ot garlic naan, which were sooo yummy and the spice was also perfect. I would definetely want to go back to the same place…

Came here yesterday with my Colombian friend and we both really liked it and appreciated the complimentary appetizer. We couldn’t figure out what it exactly was though haha but it was good. The owner seemed really nice as well(: Will be back!

This place is pretty awful. I got lamb vindaloo and garlic naan for $ 24 during lunch, they don’t do buffet during the week anymore. Vindaloo consisted of a few pieces of overcooked lamb mixed with under cooked potatoes floating in hot, but otherwise flavorless sauce. Rice was bland, and I didn’t find any spices mixed in. For $ 4 you get one piece of garlic naan that tasted like it was microwaved. Since they are charging premium for food I would add a few words about décor. It’s drab, outdated and borderline depressing. I have a pretty bad experience with this place every year but sudden cravings for Indian food and their proximity bring me back. This time was the last.

[2015] Christmas Eve dinner. Got here early(5:30pm). Just us and another group. Nice. Hot and Sour soup, Gobi Manchurian(medium gravy), Chicken Hyderabadi, Kadhai Lamb and Pudina Paratha. All outstanding. Good flavors. Moderate, fun spice. Wait staff is very friendly and attentive. We’re saving the free dessert for our Unilocal check-in for a later visit because we’re stuffed! Merry Christmas! :-) [2014] Lunch buffet on Saturday. Deeelicious! Love the décor. Love the staff. Love food! We don’t live in Hackensack anymore, but we make our way down here to eat at TC whenever we can!

First time I ordered the Lamb Biryani it was perfect. yet the second time it was very salty. I gave the Biryani a third chance and it was even saltier. I highly recommend the garlic naan, absolutely delicious. the chicken salad was a nightmare. I really hope their biryani gets better because the first time I tried it I fell in love with it. They have a $ 25 minimum for delivery which is too much if you’re gonna eat alone.

I cannot speak for the location but I order all the time through grubhub and I love their food. Portions are a good size for the price. Shahi Paneer is life changing. Samosas, naan, etc, everything tastes amazing and freshly prepared. A little pricy on the delivery minimum($ 25), but food makes for great leftovers as well.

Not a huge fan of this place. I usually order takeout which almost always the order is wrong. Food is pricy and I feel the skimp on the portions ordered buttered chicken got all sauce with about 4 or 5 chunks of chicken. The naan is always good that’s about the only highlight. Calling is always a nightmare either the line is always busy or they take forever to answer. I prefer Mantra on rt.4.

So glad that this spot is in my town! Both my daughters and I love the food. My 6 year old enjoys the Chicken Tikka Masala and the Chicken Biryani. Both are outstanding. Don’t forget the fresh, chewy naan and the Saag Paneer. We also enjoy the veggie sample platter and the daal. We usually get take-out as opposed to sitting in. It is a little pricey it is very good and always tastes fresh.

Been wanting to check this place out for a while now. I got the vegetable samosas to start. They were surprisingly large and perfectly seasoned. For entrée I got the Chicken Tikka Masala with a side of garlic nan. To say the Chicken Masala was amazing would be an understatement. The Chicken falls apart to the touch and the sauce was spectacular. The portions were very generous and I have more than enough for dinner tomorrow. The service was as good as the reviews state. I will be back, very soon.

Absolutely delicious! The chicken Tika Masala is utterly delicious, some of the most flavorful I have ever had! The Sang Paneer is also tasty but the tika masala was utterly delicious. I can’t wait to go back for round 2! I also loved being able to place my order for delivery entirely on-line. It was very easy and efficient!

I have been going to Tandoori Chef for several years now and its one of the better Indian places in Bergen county. They have improved significantly over the years and specialize in north Indian tandoori dishes. Good appetizers to try are Chicken Chops, Chicken Seekh Kebabs and Tandoori Chicken. For main course, Butter Chicken and Goat curry are good. They make a decent Goat Biryani as well. Dal Makhani is not authentic but tastes good. You cant go wrong with their butter naan and Tandoori Paratha. The lunch buffet on the weekend has a decent spread. Service is usually fast and decent. Its better to eat in rather than delivery.

We went for dinner. There were three people working/serving. But inspite of waiting for 30mins and asking one of the server we were ready for order, they would not pay us attention for 10 more mins. But anyways we ordered when they got sometime for us. The restaurant was not busy and we were the only customer they had that time. The food came out in sometime. Meanwhile we were given some papad to munch on, which wasn’t fresh. The main course was okay: ordered bhindi daal rice and naan. It is expensive for the quantity they provide. We are not visiting again!

On occasion I have ordered from Tandoori chef a few times. I ordered a good amount of food two days ago and must say I am deeply disappointed. The process of calling them was a hassle, unfortunately there phone wasnt working properly and after various attempts I finally was able to get through and inform them about the problem with the phone. The girl who answered was nice but did not acknowledge the problem nor did she apologize. I called around 3.30pm because it was indicated online that they accept orders. After I had ordered the food I was told they would only be able to deliver after 5pm. I had been looking at other Indian rest. near Teaneck, I now regret not having waited to call another place. Afterall they were all working after 5pm. The food arrived around 5.50pm. I had placed the order at 3.30pm. The least they could have done is made sure I got my food sooner than later. The biriyani I ordered was probably the worst I have ever had. The flavor was fantastic, but the texture of the rice was watered down. I felt like I was eating pudding, spicy pudding. The meat was tender and nice. The girl unfortunately I believe misread my request and had sent two Samosa orders instead of one. I was rather upset when I saw the bill $ 40 +(because of the two samosa orders) but knew nothing could be done at the time, so i didnt call to complain. Let me also note, that once the delivery guy gave me the receipt and I informed him that I only ordered one samosa, he suggested that I let the girl know I only want one. Is it me or does that sound completely useless. Food for thought, if anyone from Tandoori Chef. reads this. The samosa’s were salty on the outside but nice on the inside so not much to complain about but the aloo paratha was the worst. It was burnt, there was hardly any potato. I felt like I was eating some random rotti with a few pieces of potato. Overall I am very disappointed. I wanted to indulge in some yummy indian food and ended up hating every second of it for the money spent. I would not have said anything if it was 20 $ or 10 $ but the minimum to order is now 30 $ not 25 $ like before and I dont think I will ever return as a customer. I apologize for the criticism but am hoping it would be taken as constructive criticism and utilized to better the restaurant as a whole.

My boyfriend and I are regular customers for dinner service. Service is friendly and attentive and the food quality is up there. I typically order the chicken tikka masala or the butter chicken, which are both recommended. My boyfriend likes the korma. We always order naan, and the rice comes along with the entrees at no extra charge, which is probably why the entrees are a bit high in price. They will refill the rice platter for free and always check in to see if you want more. Samosas are also a good choice for appetizer. One time they gave us pakora for free– they didn’t explain why, but I figure it was because our order took a while to come out of the kitchen as we were one of 2 tables there I can’t comment on the buffet, but I definitely recommend dinner. *for Unilocalers, free dessert for checking in

Good food, I’ve been a regular hers for a while. I enjoy the food. What is driving me crazy lately is the lack of English speaking staff. My orders came out completely wrong the last 2 times I have eaten here. Maybe I should point to the menu in the future. Or could there be someone that knows the menu and English working there??? At least the food was good. Don’t expect much more.

*veg sample platter(the samosa was pretty good, filling could have been better and have more kick to it; the pakoras were alright, I felt that it was dry for some reason; the paneer was so firm, I’m used to softer consistencies) *garlic naan(yes please!!! so perfect and thankfully not oily like how some places prepare theirs) *paneer makhani(paneer in rich, buttercream sauce; I liked the sauce but the paneer is just too firm for me; if the cheese was softer then I would give this dish a 10) This restaurant is cozy with very simple décor. The red walls look like indented red lipstick; not sure what they were going for. Service is good and they’re attentive. Food isn’t bad but I’ve had better.

This is my first time trying Indian food aside from Samosas. Upon being seated my friend and I were promptly brought over pappadum(something like crispy pita) with 3 chutneys.(sauces) All 3 were full of coriander aka cilantro, my arch enemy! Against my better judgement I decided to order the vegetarian sampler so that I could try a few things. It came with 1 super delicious, crispy, jam-packed samosa, several veggie fritters that I enjoyed and some sort of cheese cake bites that I felt the texture was a bit off for me. We also ordered the garlic naan which was fabulous! They offer a free dessert with a Unilocal check-in and I believe it is byob! Like other reviewers pointed out, it is very quiet inside. The staff is pretty attentive but when I inquired about a dish the server muttered a response I could barely hear or understand. I think there is a banquet room in the back and there was a huge party of Indian patrons which I take as a good sign of the restaurants authenticity. Overall I will go back, probably for the lunch buffet so I can try more options and hopefully give them a better review. If you are ok with cilantro and or have had Indian food before, I recommend checking this place out.

*FREEDESSERTWHENYOUCHECKIN * Service wasnt terrible, but SLOW. My date and i kinda just waited and sat around with our thumbs up our bums for awhile. We didnt get the memo that we pay at the registar and the food took awhile to come over. The vegetarian samosas were amazing, large and crispy but filled with amazing-ness. The Nan was cooked perfectly, not too fluffy but not burnt. The garlic Nan had th perfect amount of garlic too. My date was happy with her $ 10 vegeatrian platter which came with a samosa, some fritters, another veggie fried thing and some type of bread. Prices are great, food tasted okay for what i had.
