I love the banh mi sandwich, this is the only place that I fully love. Their phở is good too! Really small hole in the wall kind of place, it’s been here forever.

My go to place for Vietnamese food. Their banh mi is delicious and only $ 3! I always order spring rolls and this place never gets it wrong and their phở is always good. Service is friendly and good.

Got to say I love the chicken curry here. Best in town. Place has been here for years. Hard to find a spot that stays in business and consist these days.

Grilled Pork Banh Mi for $ 4.50 has replaced my ALL TIME favorite. The TACO. Yeah, that good.
To start off, I heard about this place being the original Thai cuisine in DFW. It’s been around for over a decade apparently. It’s clean, on a bad corner with an unnoticeable sign and EPIC.
Lots of things on the menu. Lots of good things, but the GRILLED PORK BANH MI haunts my dreams. Calls to me in the night and beckons me to come.
Fresh French roll. Salty/​sweet grilled pork. FRESH sliced jalapeños. Fresh carrots and cilantro. And BAM. Dreams come true.
CASH only. So worth it. Go, sit, take-​out. I don’t care. You won’t regret it.

this place is a hole-​ina-​wall! but the food is amazing with all of the items tasting excellent… come and get your coffee fix and your viet sandwich and phở its amazing!

My favorite Vietnamese place in Fort Worth! They’ve been around for ages and the food is delicious. My fiancé always gets the pork vermicelli, and I like the vegetable and tofu phở. They have a large vegetarian selection. As it is on the menu, the vegetable and tofu phở is not in a vegetarian broth, but they will happily sub a mushroom broth if you ask. We always get the iced coffees with sweetened condensed milk. Two entrees, an app, and two coffees is like $ 25. Very yummy. It’s cash only also, I only use cash, so that’s never an issue for me. The only thing that sucks is that they do close relatively early (8pm).

Delicious to say the least. Pork Spring Rolls, Eggrolls, Chicken Curry and Rice, Chicken Lemongrass and Rice Noodles, Pork and Rice with Fried Egg, COFFEE. It is all fantastic.

Their entire menu is to die for. Their phở is authentic and everything is fresh. The prices are amazing so you can try more than one item. Their banh mi (Vietnamese sub sandwich) is made with the perfection combinations of ham and fresh veggies. I have literally tried every single
Item on their menu and would tell you everything is delicious and made with love. Their Saigon pancakes are to die for, extra crispy and services with a plate of fresh veggies.

Love their food! I have been visiting this restaurant for 25 years. I moved out of Texas, but every time I come to Texas, I make a point to stop here to have my favorite Saigon pancakes. I have eaten at many Vietnamese restaurants including NY, Chicago, and other places but This place is the best!

This place is great! If you’re looking for real authentic Vietnamese food, this is the place to go. The curry chicken is the bomb. I’ve tried almost all the items on the menu and I have yet to be disappointed in any of the dishes!

Not the greatest phở place but its eatable lol edible is eatable a word. Better places to eat and not much to choose from on their very limited menu.

My only excuse is that today is just my second time at Tu Hai since Jimmy’s passing, as I now live in Austin and haven’t eaten there regularly for several years.
The first experience with the heirs in charge, I chalked up to teething issues. But the new chefs have how had plenty of time to get their act together. Sadly, today’s take home order was just terrible. The Banh Mi loaf was literally hard and dry as dust. The fish sauce had changed from reddish and fresh-​smelling, to a brown, rotten-​smelling, industrial-​grade sauce. The egg cake looked nothing like what Tu Hai used to produce. The pork chop was way overcooked.
I take no pleasure at all in saying I am finished with Tu Hai.

Nearly thirty years I’ve been eating at Tu Hai. Best Vietnamese restaurant I’ve found, thus the 5 stars. First suggested by a WFAA photographer friend who new all the best-​cheap places to eat.
I’m always trying strange sounding items at Asian restaurants (suggest you try green papaya salad at your next Thai outing.) So at Tu Hai, the first dish I ordered is the one I still order «Shredded pork and pork skin with egg cake and broken rice». I’ve enjoyed other dishes here, but my shredded pork and pork skin with egg cake is the best Vietnamese food I’ve ever eaten. It has rich pork flavor plus great mouth feel — not greasy or slimy at all. And the egg cake is a superstar in its own right. Never seen anything like it, shaped like a slice of sashimi but with a tender yellow skin and a delicious spicy filling. Don’t have a clue what’s in it, but it’s incredibly good! Served with a lightly sweet and spicy, not-​fishy fish sauce.
I eat this dish down to the last busted rice grain. If you can summon up the courage, you will be amazed. I now live in Austin and crave shredded pork and pork skin with egg cake. I’m in town for the weekend, and my sister wants to take me out for seafood. But I’ll be sneaking away to Tu Hai for lunch, spoiling my appetite!

Tu Hai was recommended by my husband’s customer. He said he’s been going here for 18 years. So, husband wanted to give it a try. I gave the okay after consulting with Unilocal.Ha! Many of the reviewers have been dining here for years.
Tu Hai is located in a strip center off on Belknap and Beach Street. It sits next to a Radioshack and a Cash advance place. This place is CASH only, but we went prepared! This place was busy and small. Tables only, so I wouldn’t bring a group here. It was just simple and nothing fancy. You can tell it has been around for years and is family owned.
There have a lot of menu items, but it’s pretty simple. I got the small phở with steak and spring rolls. $ 5 for a small phở and $ 7 for a large, can’t beat that! My husband got the large. I liked the flavor of the Phở. The Spring rolls were good as well. The service was prompt and we were in and out pretty fast.
I would eat here again! I would love to try the Bánh Mi since I’ve never had one and the Saigon pancakes.

I have been going here for over 25 years. It holds a special place in my heart… my mom and I would go once a week together. She passed away 8 years ago. The owners have each passed and now the eldest son runs the place. When they were all alive they would always ask me about my parents and how they were doing.
It’s not the prettiest restaurant but the food is inexpensive and delicious! I love their banh mi sandwiches.
Bring cash because they don’t take cards!

I’ve only had the banh mi’s here and they are deliicciooouussss. Can’t beat $ 3 and all the fixings! Took off a star because I paid 2.50 for bottled Thai tea that was poured into a cup of ice :(but that won’t stop me from going back!

What is there to say? This place is a classic. ambience is pretty much zero, but who cares? The food is fantastic and cheap too. ive been coming here for years and will continue to. the only reason I dont go more is its cash only and im a debit card kinda girl.

If you haven’t been here, it’s a must. The afternoon I visited was super busy, buzzing with lunch time clientele. I ordered the $ 3 Bánh mì, that was just what I needed. My mom ordered the beef and sirloin Phở, that she enjoyed very much. You must try the fresh lemonade, it’s fantastic.
The price’s are so cheap, cash only.
I really like this place, just the right place for lunchtime!

Came for the Banh mi and it was pretty good. It had a couple extra meats in it that threw me off a little.

Tu Hai is located in the same ghetto shopping strip as RadioShack. My coworker read the good reviews on Unilocal and wanted to check Tu Hai out, but we both left disappointed. Their specialty is banh xeo or Vietnamese crêpe filled with pork, shrimp, and bean sprouts. For $ 7.50 for two good sized banh xeo, it’s a good value. The first bite was good, but then it went downhill. It’s super greasy and full of MSG. No bueno.
My coworker had the bun ga nuong or grilled chicken with rice vermicelli. It was really good and for around $ 6, it was a good deal.
I think Tu Hai is catered to more American or Hispanic clientele. I didn’t see any Asian patrons inside, and everything was in English. So there you go. Cash only!
