Droogies Pizza

My co-​workers called in an order for delivery, mind you our work place is located FIVE MINUTES away from them. At first they said that it was TOO DIFFICULT A DRIVE for them to make. Again we are five minutes away from them no exaggeration. After that phone call when they denied our order my co-​worker called back to ask them to please try and make the drive since we are literally right down the street. The person on the other end said okay they’ll try but it might ‘take a while’. TWO HOURS LATER with no food or even the decency of a phone call, we called back to talk with a manager who rudely replied ‘well I told you it would take a while’. We are never ordering again. This is one of the worst customer experiences I’ve witnessed and for all those who reside on Dixwell Avenue beware– it might ‘take a while’.

I order 3 wraps and a breakfast burrito. The pesto chicken, taco and buffalo chicken wraps were excellent. But the breakfast burrito wasn’t even edible. First off, I ask then to add avacado which cost extra and they didn’t put it on, secondly, the hasbrowns on it were old and way over cooked… couldn’t even eat it. So we threw the burrito in the
I highly recommend the wraps and you should at all cost avoid the breakfast burrito… you are better off going to mcd. If you want breakfeast.

Ordered from here often at school. Turkey club sandwich and fries was great and so are some of the other sandwiches/​wraps. Be careful with the appetizers some are very good (ie cheesy/​motz sticks and chicken tenders) andd some are not so good (mini tacos, Mac and cheese bites). Pizza was small, cheap, and ok

I give it a 4 star rating only because the price and quality of the pizza are great. You can only order a small pizza, but for around $ 10 they load it with toppings. I was very impressed with the buffalo chicken because they sure didn’t go light with the chicken. There are many interesting combinations on the pizza menu that I am interested in trying. Other than that they offer a decent sandwhich menu, a little over priced for the size, but there’s not too much to complain about. There is nowhere to sit, it’s strictly take out, which can be a negative. The staff’s attitude isn’t great but they do a decent job at customer service. The main problem I’ve had with this place is the wait time, if they tell me my order will be ready in 15 minutes, I’ll realistically be standing at the counter for 25 minutes instead. All in all, a good place for take out.

This place is pretty terrible. I ordered chicken parm, It was soggy and the sauce tasted like it came out if a ragu jar. I also ordered the mini tacos and Mac n cheese bites, both of which were freezer aisle quality. Total was about 25 bucs. Wish I could get my money back.

So a couple of weeks ago during the last snow storm, I was hanging out with friends in Hamden. We wanted pizza, and my buddy said he knew a place. Since I was at someone else’s house, I didn’t go through my usual Unilocal-​check routine.
When we called in the order, they said they were very busy and delivery would be at least one and a half hours. We had chips & salsa, so we figured we could handle the long wait!
After almost two hours, we called for an update. It was snowing, so we were okay at this point, trying to be reasonable and understanding. The girl who answered was VERY rude this time (not sure if it was the same person who took our order) and said it’d be at least another hour! All she kept saying was that they were very busy. She never seemed apologetic, more defensive, and we gave her NO reason to be defensive. We were only calling for an update.
Since at this point, any order we placed somewhere else would have probably been at least an hour out, we decided to wait. 90 minutes later, the order finally arrived. The delivery person was cool, and we tipped him, figuring it wasn’t his fault that it was late.
The pizza was so-​so. Honestly, it was decent, but NOT WORTH WAITING 3.5 HOURS! Further, since the person with whom we spoke was COMPLETELY unapologetic, that definitely dragged down our opinion of the place.
I would have rated 1 star if the pizza sucked, but I try to be as honest as possible on these reviews.
The only thing I can say is that before I wrote this review, out of curiosity I checked the other Unilocal reviews, and late, unexplained deliveries seems to be standard for this place. Lesson learned. At least look at Unilocal and consider the existing reviews!

I recently moved from NYC to Hamden, Ct. If you’ve ever been to NY, then you know how great the pizza is. This was the first time I ordered from Droogies Pizza. I ordered the Chicken Florentine Pizza and I’m sad to say, but we’ve had better. The pizza was tasteless and I had grease dripping down the side of my hand. I felt really «Bleh» afterwards as if the contents did not want to cooperate with my stomach. Not a good feeling. Sad to say, but I will not be ordering from Droogies again.

Droogies is a regular place for me to order from, and they have super yummy options. My favorites are the breakfast pizza and the penne vodka. They also have great shakes that are a good snack/​dessert (I recommend mint choco chip). Though I do like their food, I gave them 3 stars because I have had a few not so great experiences with them. Once it took 2 hours to deliver an order after saying it would be 30 – 45 mins (That was the longest I had to wait but they have definetly taken longer than they said they would multiple times) and also messing up my order a bunch of ways (asking for no tomato’s on a sandwhich or a specific type of bread). Again, the food is good, but dot order delivery from here if you are in a time crunch or are really hungry, as there is a chance of it taking way longer than you want.

This place should have a much higher rating. been in Hamden for 5 years and this is my go to take out and/​or delivery place! Great selection, been happy with everying

Hey Droogies, why won’t you deliver to our side of Hamden? We are 5.2 miles away and yet you refused to deliver to us on the phone tonight. It’s a shame you’re so uncooperative because we’d prob order from you a LOT. Your loss.

So tonight was our 1^st experience with Droogies. A few friends suggested your place while you were in north haven, but we never made it. However, to our luck you open right down the street from us now. My wife and I are in love! Your bacon cheeseburger pizza is out of this world. The mini tacos incredible, and the kicker your mint chip shake. GREAT WORK. We will be back

I’m always a regular for Droogies delivery. The pizza is great as well as their grinders. Delivery is always fast with awesome service. Their wings are some of the best I’ve ever tried.

It took almost 3 hours to deliver. Not okay. Especially because as a college student, I have a busy schedule and expected my food within the normal half hour to 45 minutes. I will never order from them again. There food is mediocre at best, so you’re not missing much.

I tried Droogies for the first time, as they are a relativly new establistment. I ordered a BLT and a acouple other people from my office ordered a pizza an eggplant Parm.
I was shocked when I opened my BLT grinder. I asked for extra bacom becase when ever I order a BLt they give you loads of everything but the bacn. Not the case here!!! This grinder was loaded with crispy bacon fresh bread and fresh lettuce and tomatoes.
Everyone in my office was happy with what they ordered and it all smelled very good. As far as my grinder went, I have to say I have not had a BLT like that for a long time.
I hope that the quality stays the same as the business grows. The prices are fair for the amount and quality of food that you will get! Another bonus is that they deliver!
Give them a try, they have my seal of approval.
