A typical cheap pizza. Thin crusted(too much cornmeal for me) but decent cheese. The broccoli was clearly frozen from the bag. I appreciated that when I asked about specials, I was offered the specials price. Quickly out of the oven and into my hands-15 minutes!

Let me start by saying if your looking for quality, savory, finger licking good pizza. This ain’t the place. This is nothing like what I remember. The pizza is super soggy, greasy, terrible. I’m sorry but this is not quality pizza. I would’ve been better off ordering from dominoes, very disappointed.

Fast. Cheap. But the pizza is gross. They are convenient and offer some good other things, like wings, but do yourself a favor and pass on the pie.

I’m giving primo’s 4 stars because despite them not having the best pizza in the world, they have good prices, amazing deals when you order(like large garlic bites or free soda’s when you order a specific amount) and that it makes it so worth it. Especially for college students in the area, their prices and deals are great to cash in on. The people who work there are always very friendly, I’ve never really had a bad experience with them. You also have to give them props for dealing with drunk college students ordering at 1am every single weekend. When you want pizza late at night, or just a lot of food, primo’s is always a reliable place to order. My favorites are the Hawaiian pizza, the garlic bites, and the penne vodka(I know kinda random to get that from a pizza place but it was actually pretty good).

Ordered a Margherita and it was so greasy. The crust was soft and gross. We threw it out.

Primo’s has the best pizza in Hamden! They also support Quinnipiac in many fundraising efforts and philanthropy events and are so friendly! I definitely recommend coming here

Pros: cheap, quick, they deliver, open late. Cons: mediocre pizza at best. Prefect place to grab a pie after the bar when the munchies hit.

Primo’s pizza in hamden is a strictly college targeted joint. The food is not of the greatest quality and easily forgettable but that does not mean you should avoid it completely. I am a personal fan of the garlic cheese bites. I also got their buff chick calzone. The buffalo had a solid kick to it and the chicken was shredded. The crust was crispy but thin. The chicken was also a little dry and the calzone itself did not hold well. I think the one thing that sets them apart from their close competitors is all of the coupons and deals they offer. They are very focused and good for groups.

I am very surprised to see a couple 1 star reviews for Primo, that‘s kinda harsh. Sure, the pizza is not amazing or great. But, it is most certainly tastes good and is at a very attractive price point. Which with their being in Hamden, close to Quinnipiac University is a smart business decision on their part. They are not trying to serve high end artisinal pies or even compete with Sallys or Pepes. It is solid thin crust pizza, with a good cheese to sauce ratio. It is idealto either go or to eat in a no frills environment. And with a friendly and helpful staff, it is worth trying if you live near Hamden or are passing through the area. Not far off I-91 for travelers.

Ordered pizza last week. We decided to order two cheese pizza which were $ 6.50 each Monday-Thursday and we also ordered a large order of garlic bites which were free with any $ 10 purchase or more. we decided to pick up our order. when we arrived we werer told that the total was like $ 24. I could not understand why it was so much more than advertised. so we asked why it was so much. The person waiting on us told us that the garlic bites were not free. that we could either pay full price for the pizza’s and get the garlic bites for free or pay $ 6.50 for each pizza and pay full price for the garlic bites. We were very disappointed with the service there. We decided to pay for the two pizza’s and just leave the garlic bites. The restaurant didn’t even offer to just give us the garlic bites this one time for free. Warning read all there«Clip less» coupons before ordering anything from there.

It’s unfair to judge this pizza place based on the greater New Haven area pizza restaurants. That’s not what Primo is all about. They are a cheap, fast, coupon-offering pizza place down the road from Quinnipiac– which is obviously their target market. With that being said — the taste of these ultra quick, inexpensive pizzas are– dare I say– bland, bordering and very forgettable. It just didn’t taste all that good. Students and others who need that quick fix — of inexpensive/fast pizza are better off ordering Dominos, or better yet — Papa Johns — which just opened near Quinnipiac. Believe it or not– they taste much better then Primo; no coupon can make Primo pizza worth it.

Greasy pizza but a great doughy crust. Don’t forget to add Ben n Jerry’s ice cream to your order!

You can’t really beat a $ 6 large takeout pizza. Get two or three friends in to share, and you’ve spent $ 2 – 3 a person. It’s not the best pizza, but sometimes you just want a greasy, cheesy, cheap pizza, and that’s what you can get at Primo. Everything else on the menu is fairly priced, too, and you can get some great deals from the coupons Primo distributes. I think this Primo Pizza is better than the Wallingford location.

The food is pretty good, but it’s dirty! I used to work there. The kitchen is filthy and I’m not sure the staff wash their hands. I know for a fact the manager and assistant manager used drugs while on the clock and did inappropriate things together in the office. I dropped the ice cream scoop on the floor one day and the handle broke off… bugs crawled out of it. I told my boss she needed to replace it… she never did. The bathroom was always disgusting and the floors needed a good washing. It’s down the street from Quinnipiac College so during classes you get all the drunk/stoned college students. If you can put up with filth and drunks then go here. The food is decent and the price is right. I gave it a low rating because of the cleanliness.
