Tuesday night. Entire town of Harrison is in darkness for the second night in a row and so are the surrounding towns of Newark and Kearny. No cell service. No battery operated radio was prepared in advance so it’s just the sound of sirens and the flicker of candles. What does one do but reach for a bottle, right? But what if you drank everything you had Monday night as you hunkered down and prayed your windows wouldn’t get sucked out by Sandy? Where could one possibly find booze under these circumstances? Well, if you had cash on hand and a flashlight you could go to Lito’s! He opened up the shop to one person at a time and I was able to score 3 bottles of wine. Kept me warm and kept me amused to play the longest game of war I’ve ever played(lasted two days! and luckily so did the wine!). Thanks Lito for staying open and letting people get their wine on during these last few dark and cold nights. Cheers!
