Waffle House

The waitresses here are either great or not attentive. I’ve had both as I am a frequent visitor. The food tastes just like any other Waffle House. Most of the time the food is good. I’ve had a few times where they’ve burnt the bacon an extreme amount, but ⁹⁄₁₀ they get it right.

I had been driving in and out of traffic jams for six hours. When I pulled into my motel’s driveway, I noticed there was a Waffle House directly across the highway. Walking distance! So not wanting to drive anymore, I decided to have dinner here.
The food was typical Waffle House fare. The service was extremely attentive and perky. A lot of regulars. I would surely return if in the area again.

Good almost every time and never good for you:) But we keep going back to enjoy. Simple and tasty!

Best word to describe this place is satisfying. It might not look like much, but the food is unexpectedly delicious (lunch as well), and the service and people are great. Compared to other restaurants, this place is in my top 5 for this area.

Prompt and quick service. Food was great. I had a bacon cheeseburger. Their hash browns are on point.

Every time we come to Harrisonburg, VA we make it a point to stop by this Waffle House.
The interior is brown and retro, the accents are strictly Southern, and we love it! It’s clean and the food is tasty and cheap.
The workers are super nice, quick about taking your orders & having your food cooked (though waffles may take longer).

Decent breakfast food. Honestly nothing special. The menu was really small and there’s limiting seating. The service was good. Mediocre breakfast food that you can make at home. I asked for crispy bacon but it was less crispy than my friends who didn’t ask for crispy bacon so I’m unsure of what happened there?
Probably will come back when other breakfast foods in the area aren’t busy.

Typical Waffle house with good, cheap and fast food. However, this location is the smallest of all the Waffles houses I’ve been to, probably half the size, and as a former Flight Attendant I’ve been to quite a few. With that being said, the fact that we were seated and served so quickly says a lot. Once we got there it was a little wait, maybe about 10 – 15 minutes for our table for four to be ready. At that point is was smooth sailing. Ordered, ate and out the door in about 30 min and back to our regularly scheduled day of activities in Massanutten.

I grew up in the ‘50s, when there were hardly any chains and when you found a good place to eat, you stuck with it. I’ve not had waffles here, but I’ve had breakfast and lunch, and, in a word, it’s very tasty. They have really good coffee, a plus anywhere. And they leave you with plenty of money in your wallet. The seating is about like any fast food place, with diner décor. I love their cheesy eggs, toast, bacon. They remind me of the Hot Shoppes long ago in the DC area (Marriott’s first restaurants, I believe), and of a little place called The Pioneer Restaurant in Romney, WV, where we always stopped on our way from DC to Fairmont WV. Somehow, in places like this you get the feeling that they made it just for you. I can’t explain it, but my palate sure knows. :)

This place reminds me of some good old home cooking. Nothing fancy about how they make the food, it’s just breakfast… Really good breakfast. The staff was friendly, and the prices are decent. If you visit do yourself a favor and put a twist on those hash browns, they really are the best in the business.

One of the better Waffle Houses you’ll find, service wise. Great staff. Good cooks. Friendly. And, a clean location, but the quality of food remains poor, as with all Waffle Houses. If you don’t mind that, there’s no better value than here, hands down. Meanwhile, many of the JMU bargain seekers have found their way across the street to Cook Out where the quality is a notch better. Still when it comes to a Waffle House, this one is a skip above many others.

I am a huge Waffle House fan and my family and I always eat here for breakfast when we travel South. This specific location had good service, was fast and tasted really good.
An extra bonus was that I forgot my sweater there and the manager, Bubba, was kind enough to BRING my sweater to the Marriott Courtyard where we had stayed since we had already left the area so that the Marriott can mail it to me… Now that’s going above and beyond the call of duty! Love this place! Thanks Bubba!!!

Menu had a lot to choose from. Staff was very friendly. The restaurant was clean. Tables were a little small. The food was great. We would definitely come again

I hadn’t been to a Waffle House in years but this was a lot better than I remembered it. The waffle was good but much thinner than a Belgian one. I liked the choices of what you could put in the hash browns and cheese for your eggs. Not a bad pick at all if you’re looking for breakfast foods.

There are a very specific set of circumstances under which you would want to eat at a Waffle House. If you want quick service and decently-​cooked eggs, go to Waffle House. If you want delicate (and expensive) cuisine executed by exceptional chefs, go somewhere else. This is the place to go if you need a breakfast fix and don’t have a ton of money to burn. I’ve had better breakfasts, but never a more interesting experience.

A better, less crowded location than the Frederick, Maryland location. Quick service, pleasant crowd, we were given the smaller condensed menu which confused me at first but you have the option to request the full menu (I ended up looking on my phone).
I ordered the sausage, egg, and cheese biscuit which is on the value menu and a single waffle. I prefer their SECB over McD’s (theirs is much saltier although I like their biscuit more).
However I do admit I thought it was a little pricey for breakfast (our total was a little over $ 20 for two which included my meal, my SO’s large hash browns with 3 toppings, 2 coffees, small grits and toast).

I have to say this place was a very nice place. We had breakfast here while staying at the Massanutt Resort .The food is nice, and the staff was friendly. This was my family and I place of choice for a good old fashion breakfast! The waffle was the best! Literally the best i have had. The fiesta omelet was great, though they packed it overly though with onions, and jalapenos. Great bang for your buck.
However, i think the wait staff could be more attentive instead of engaging among themselves. I had to literally beg for beverage refills, and when we were ready to go we had to find our waiter at the counter in order to pay her. This was pretty annoying.
But overall if in the area, i would probably eat there again, due to their great price and good breakfast.

We had to wait but it was worth it. This place really does crank out some awesome breakfast foods! The omelettes are light and fluffy and the hash browns are a must. I get them scattered, covered and smothered. The only issue is that they are so slamming busy there may be a slight wait for coffee
