Foster’s Grille

For burgers, really good. Not at all cheap (alas, McDougals has set the expected price point on burgers), but if you wanted cheap, well, you’d go to McDougals. The wings, well, the Southwestern ones were tasty, but nothing to write home about. It’s difficult to find wings anywhere that really are, for lack of a better word, beefy. Many are quite scrawny, which might be why chickens can’t fly.
Service isn’t fast, and this place gets really crowded and with larger groups, ergo, loud. Of course, you’re not going to a burger joint for the peace and quiet, but still, it can be quite rattling.
I’ve been twice, and I’d go again, but it wouldn’t be my first choice.

I don’t usually eat burgers but had a craving. This place didn’t disappoint. I went for the plain cheeseburger and it was outstanding. The fries were tasty too

Good burger at this place. It has decent flavor and not overcooked. Unfortunately the flavor of the beef patty is overwhelmed by the amount of bread used for the bun. Meat to bread ratio is not good.

First off the parking situation is a nightmare at lunchtime
There is some owness on tenants to assure their facility has adequate parking
This is not the case here. Be prepared to jockey with some lunch going IT person for a parking space
Second and the reason for the review being so bad is I am already upset about the parking and then I find out my online order wasn’t ready. One half hour after placing the order I am still waiting
Between not finding a parking space and not having my order ready I am pissed and it is reflected in my review

Burgers are delicious. Fries are fantastic. I’ve come to realize I like Foster’s better than Five Guys.

We love Foster’s and go to Haymarket and Manassas whenever we can. Manassas, they are always smiling, great small talk, excellent service after the order. Haymarket is similar, and both are always packed with people even during non-​peak times. Please don’t base your feelings of Foster’s as a whole based on this location, please visit other locations.
This Foster’s has issues. Timing of food delivery is always inconsistent, pricing makes no sense, the staff is always not the best and good luck if changes need to be made. We love going to other Fosters but have curtailed our visits here recently, even though it is more convenient than the others.
We went with the kids and they were not as busy as other stores in the same mall.
This time I felt like ordering 6 wings with my meal because I hadn’t had wings in a while. Then I remembered that 95 cents per wing was high for what you get, the wings are kind of on the small side. You might get one or two big ones, but in general the amount of meat isn’t worth 95 cents. Upon remembering this, I told my wife to take the wings off my sheet because of their size. The person at the register shouts out, «Actually they’re bigger than everyone else’s.»
No sir, they are not.
«Yeah, well whose are bigger?» He retorts, forcing me to have to respond. This was not a conversation I wanted to have and shouldn’t have even been a conversation.

This didn’t set too well with him and he said something quietly to my wife about calling my BS. Now the wings served at the other two locations are huge with plenty of flavor, here they’ve always been smaller with a good one here and there.
This destroyed any positive time we could have.
As we were leaving, the guy who was at the register and another worker were talking about some sort of tryout where the other worker was throwing up. That’s nice.

Awful. I have not eaten red meat in 13 years and so I asked for a Chicken Philly and received Steak Philly. We waited an hour for our food so I was starving and took 2 bites before realizing it was NOT chicken. My body treats red meat like food poisoning btw. When telling the waiter/​cashier he gave me a brownie! Sorry sir, that won’t cure my stomach and of course you’d given me another thing I do not consume. That’s all for making me sick to my stomach and miss work not to mention make me feel miserable and my body completely processes it! I was so sick then when I was presented with a Chicken Philly I couldn’t stomach to even look at it. I did not even get a chance to eat the «fries on the waiter». Oh, but I did receive a free milkshake that tasted like freezer burnt ice cream straight out of the back of the freezer.

Came here for dinner on ¹⁰⁄₂₀. Both my wife and I ordered their Charburger. They have a nice selection of toppings (similar to Five Guys). When our order first came out, it was just my wife’s burger and we were told that mine was on its way. 5 minutes later when it still wasn’t out, got back in line to check on it. Was told that it was almost ready. When I go out to eat with others, I want to eat with them — not have ½ the order show up and then have to wait. Eventually the 2^nd burger made its way out — was wrong (not even close to what was ordered) and went back. My wife’s burger also went back since it was cold at this point. 10 minutes later, they come out again — wrong. (had they been close, it would have been okay, but the order was way off).
I will say that the person who brought the food to us was nice. Explained that they were understaffed and gave us a full refund. For this, I want to say Thank You. When our food came out for the 3^rd time, it was still wrong and it was overcooked. Medium Rare (if you tell me you can do it, please do it) was not even close. Both were as close to Well Done as you can get without being burnt. Items were missing (these were add-​ons that you pay for — grilled onions, bacon and cheese), but with a refund — I could not ask to have them go back again.
At around 6:30, one employee came and locked the door — not allowing anyone else to come in. My wife asked if they were closing, and was told that with the «Rush», they could not keep up with demand. There were maybe 4 — 5 tables with customers and 1 or 2 in line. The spot where we were sitting was very close to the door, and customers were knocking and looking at us to let them in. One was trying to explain that they had made an order over the phone or on-​line and was there to pick-​up. When you’re only 5 feet away from someone trying to get in the door — you feel obligated to open the door. Had they put a sign on the door, it may have been the better choice.

Foster’s is a good burger place that delivers a ½ pound patty, with a nice char grilled taste, but overall it’s a burger joint. A bit pricey for what you get but worth coming back.

If you like your food with a strong hint of pinesol, come here. Whatever it is they clean the tables with is strong and the food is overpowered with the smell.
Food is fine.

This was my first time trying Foster’s. I ordered a turkey burger and onion rings. I thought the turkey burger was decent, but nothing special. Same with the onion rings, plus they were pretty greasy.
I’m bumping it down to two stars because I ordered online with an ASAP designation. I received a confirmation email saying they exact time the food would be ready, 15 minutes after the order. When I arrived about 17 minutes after placing the order, it was obvious they hadn’t fired anything, and I had to wait about another 7 – 10 minutes for the order to be actually ready. They were not busy at all.
It looks like they have a cool selection of beers on tap, including some local ones, so I might go back for that. I’m probably not going to be in a rush, though.

My wife and I frequent this location often and always have a positive experience. The food is great, the staff is friendly, and the prices are reasonable. Highly recommend!

I don’t write reviews often and I hope this lends more credibility given my experience was just that lousy. I gave them one star because 0 stars does not seem to be available. To summarize my order was bungled and I feel ripped off.
Yesterday I called in an order for a cheeseburger and onion rings to go. When I got there 20 minutes later they told me they had no record of my order. Of course they ask «who did you talk to?» I don’t know about everyone else but I don’t record the names of everyone I order take out from because the process always works except at Fosters Grille. I voiced my displeasure to the cashier who blew me off and paid something like $ 12-​$ 13 and waited. When my order came up I took it and left only to find when I got back home that my cheeseburger was only a hamburger and I got a grand total of 5 onion rings. Poor service, poor value. My family and I had good experiences but after this I would need a helluva offer to return.

The Unilocal categorization is «burgers» but its more than that. Pretty good selection of sandwiches, wings, etc. I had lunch here the other day (we had eaten quite a few times at the Ashburn location that is now closed) and had two hot dogs w/​onion rings. The dogs were a good size but the rings were sparse BUT all tasted pretty good.
Complaint is the way you order. They hand you a piece of paper thats not really clear at all and ask you to fill it out. Since no one fills its out correctly staff have to go over the whole thing with you anyways.
Note to owner: skip the paper and save your staff and the customers time and frustrations and just take their orders. Would have added another star of not for that.
If you have not tried, its worth a visit, make up your own mind

Turkey burgers are not fresh for the price. And a half basket of onion rings are like 4 or 5 rings. Rip off. I don’t have to return.

Have become a regular.
Quality is consistently good and always cooked just right.
Grill girls still do perfect job,
but the buns are still not a complete win.
Ruins a fantastic burger every time as they just soggily fall apart.
Oh, and on «Endless Fry-​days» be sure to speak up and insist on more fries because they sure as heck won’t mention it to you.

I don’t enjoy stopping by places that I haven’t checked out on Unilocal first, since it hasn’t steered us wrong yet. However we stopped by because my boyfriend saw some specials. Since it was a Tuesday I got the special, ¼ lb burger, added bacon and cheddar, it unexpectedly came with a side of fries. My boyfriend got the fish sandwich and a birthday cake milkshake.
I would say that the burger was average, if you do stop by get the ½ lb though, the ratio of meat to bread/​toppings is completely off with the ¼ lb. As other reviewers have mentioned the fries were way too greasy for my own good, although crunchy. The fish sandwich was very tasty, but the frying left the same oily flavor. The milkshake was very sweet, and my boyfriend didn’t rave about it. Not sure I’ll stop by again.

This place is great for lunch, you go in, pick up the form to your right and check mark what you want and give it to the cashier, sit and wait while they cook and bring your food to you. Parking is a pain during lunch hours so come early or after the lunch rush.
I had the philly cheese steak and that was pretty decent, my friend had the mild wings with chili fries and that looked good. Wings are the wet kind which I do not like, I like my wings somewhere in the middle of being crunchy to very crispy.
Supposedly this place is known for their burgers, I wasn’t really feeling it and it doesn’t look at that appealing. Their fries are like five guys but on a lower level, it was burnt looking and didn’t taste all that great.
Just an ok place, I would not go out of my way for this.

I’m not a burger-​and-​fry gal, so my review is a more general observation of the ambiance, service, and salad that I ordered here — yes, you can in fact get a good salad and a burger-​only joint, and it’s called Foster’s!
We go here because it’s in the neighborhood and my fiancé loves the turkey burger; says it’s the best he has ever had. My dad ordered a ¼ charburger and was very happy with it. The fries, we all felt, even though they were hand-​cut, were way too greasy, and the 3 of us didn’t finish the one portion of fries due to the grease factor.
I ordered «Nancy’s Chicken Salad» with the grilled chicken, buffalo sauce on the side, and add jalapenos — Spice Fiend style. I was happily surprised that the salad was not only served on mixed greens (not iceberg), it also was COVERED in a very plentiful portion of fresh, juicy grilled chicken breast. They didn’t skimp at all. The sunflower seeds and sharp cheddar were also a nice touch, and the salad included a fountain drink.
I’m glad I discovered that Foster’s has something other than burgers, and next time, I definitely want to try a milkshake! They send 15% off coupons to our house too, as an added bonus.
And I agree with pretty much every other recent review — Foster’s blows Five Guys out of the water (I’ve had burgers from both places). It’s no wonder the Five Guys in Herndon closed!

This is my second time coming here and I must say, MUCH better then 5 guys!!! The burgers are SOOO juicey, full of FLAVOR on a sesame seed soft bun not greasy just PERFECT
Their fries are home made and they don’t add salt which I LOVE because I get to choose just how salty I want them, and even without the salt they are still sooo flavorful nice and crispy on the outside soft and hot on the inside.
I also ordered 6 «southwest» wings, they were HUGE so crispy and full of meat PERFECT with a beer which I also had. DELICIOUS
The place is very clean, spacious, family friendly, with decorations that don’t over do it. the staff is very friend and although they don’t come to the table to take your order, they DO deliver it to you. It’s endless refills.
Have kids? Go on in on Saturdays! for every adult meal ordered you get a FREE kids meal! I left satisfied, full and happy, YUM!
