I LOVE this place. I love the atmosphere and the vibe and the outdoor fire pit. It’s a perfect place for a wedding reception or hanging out with your friends. There is a whiskey bar and regular bar area and tons of outdoor seating. I had a sashimi tuna pizza the first time around that was unique and awesome… Great beer flights here and just fun.

Wasn’t too impressed with this mcmenamins location. Most of the people in my group were not pleased with their meal, and my burger was much rarer than I had requested. The server was not very amenable. I’ll likely try again, but my first time wasn’t great

I went for a business lunch with a group of six. It was kind of confusing where the entrance was. We were seated promptly. Service was fine, if not a little slow. I had the turkey sandwich with tater tots. Tots were crispy and good. The sandwich was average.

Like any McMenamins, the ambiance is great, and has such potential, but the service is in true fashion lacking. The food is the universal McMenamins. Lack luster.

So I love mcmenamins. I have a passport that I have been working hard at filling along with a bunch of my friends. I just went to this location tonight and they gave me food poisoning. At the absolute WORST time ever. My husband and I are staying overnight in seaside, and this only happens once every couple years because we have 2 kids. Now I have food poisoning on my ONE vacation night which I paid $ 100 for a gorgeous suite with a spa tub. Will I be using it? No. Because my stomach is gurgling. I won’t go into more details than that. So I ordered their bacon wrapped shrimp and the sauce they put all over the plate tasted way too strong. It was stinging my nose. I have had this sauce before and it is usually a little spicy but nothing like this. I just figured they made it different so I ate it anyway. Plus it’s mcmennamins and they have never done me wrong before so I just trusted it. Dumb idea. It’s obvious to me now that it was bad and I should have just trusted my instincts. Super disappointing and I kind of want to cry because my vacation is now ruined. The end.

Easy going atmosphere, lots of tap options, a slight but tasty menu, and a sprawling property with some cool history.

Trippin’ through my second passport — stopped here for some stamps and dinner. The Little White Shed is a tiny cozy little cigar bar. Did not hang out long — just got my stamp and took a peek. There is a big bonfire/fire pit outside and it was roaring — which was good because it is f’ing cold out. We opted for inside. The main restaurant is a lodge style building. Open beams and a ski lodge feel. There is open seating at the bar or booths around the perimeter. We went for a booth and fortunately got seated right next to the wood burning stove — so warm and cozy. There is an upstairs — did not check it out. Matt was our server. He was friendlier and more customer service oriented than most McMenamin staff. He greeted us, reminded us of happy hour and the specials menu. I got the Pub Greens salad — did not want dressing and helpful Matt suggested lemons — it was great, and great big. My husband go the African Peanut Chicken soup and some sweet potato fries. He said the soup was spicy and flavorful. Had the seasonal Pear Ginger cider. Not bad. I’m not sure why I have not checked this location out before. It is an excellent place to sit and enjoy a brew and warm up by the fire on theses freezing nights.

For years McMenamins has had a reputation for bad service. I have noticed the last few times how much better is has got. They are one if the original restaurants to craft their own beer, cider, hard liquor and coffee. Imbrie Hall, the White Shed and the Original Roadhouse restaurant flank the property. Summer time there is great outdoor seating all over. They host weddings and receptions as well as parties here. The food is always great here, I love the Cubano sandwiches, their burgers and the Ruben. They have really good pizza too. Honestly I am glad this is a local company and the multiple restaurant venues they have. But this place has stepped up their service game for sure, so give it another try if you have steered away because of service.

The best part of this place and the primary reason for 4 stars is the ambience. The place is gorgeous. All the buildings and the land are very nice to just sit and look at with a beer. Another added bonus feature is the White Shed which sells liquor and cigars. On non-rainy days you can sip your whiskey and smoke your cigars by the outdoor fire pit. Now the bad parts: The parking — OMG the two lots are always packed because they are small and this place is used for weddings. YOu can park across at Fred Meyers and run through the traffic to get back to here. The booths — the booths have high straight backs and not much space for legs underneath the table. It is easy to feel crammed and uncomfortable especially when more than 2 – 3 people are in the booth. the wait staff — you are either waited on way too much or way too little. This is very typical for mcmenamins i know but don’t expect great service here.

No parking!!! Drove around 10 minutes before giving up and parking at Freddy’s across the street. We sat by the white shed. They serve a limited menu there; beers and wine, but not cocktails. The server suggested that I go into another area and order cocktails. I didn’t find that the most friendly, but I understand. Food orders were placed in the white shed and then delivered at the table. No service after that. It was a good place to chill out for a while, amongst some greenery without any rush. However I think it could have done better with: someone refilling at least waters, cocktails, and table side ordering.

This place is a must if your in town! It is kind of confusing because there is a few entrances and lots of indoor and outdoor seating. Luckily we came with locals who showed us around. The grounds are beautiful but I don’t remember much. We went straight to the bar and had way too many drinks! They have lots of craft beers and ciders to choose from. We eventually were seated outside. I ordered a crab cake burger which was pretty good. We will definitely be back the next time we come up. Hopefully it wouldn’t be in the dead of summer like this last time.

It’s a nice little gem tucked in a sea of suburbia. Lots of cuteness on the property, thanks to the groundskeepers. I like to eat out on the patio of the roadhouse best, followed by a stroll around the gardens, and then a whiskey sampler at the little white shed. The food is your basic McMenamins, but just little higher quality than most. It seems like the chef specials are more inventive here. One of my fave Mcmenamin’s… And I’m 5 stamps away from having my passport complete :)

So i’m trying to make it a mission to try as many McMenamins’ as i can. Ive been to this one before for a work event but never really sat inside and hung out on my own. I really like the layout of this one. They have an upstairs and property that is used for other events/weddings etc. On my last visit we had to wait a minute before being seated but they were pretty busy so it wasnt a big deal. Our waitress was really nice and very attentive. We had a large order of Cajun tots and the Flat bread. Both were good and the drinks were enjoyable as well. The only downside of this visit was it was so hot! it was a particularly warm day and they had windows open and all the fans going, But nothing was making it any cooler. It would have been nice to have the atmosphere a bit cooler but i stayed and ate, so I made the decision to deal. I work down the street and may just end up stopping in more often.

PROS: — Very nature-y place to dine, if you sit outside. It’s like a big garden. — Bronzed Salmon burger was decent although a little dry. I requested it without the buns and they didn’t have a problem with that. CONS: — No AC. C’mon, it’s summer time. A little AC to keep customers nice and cool and happy can’t hurt that much can it?

This was our fifth visit here. It is a popular place for dinner/happy hour with my coworkers. We recently went here for happy hour with a coworker who was visiting from out of town. Driving in the parking lot is nicely tucked away in the midst of trees and other native Oregon plants. There is plenty of parking and they have two really big size lots. If you park in the back there is a walkway amongst the trees, it’s a nice little stroll. The pathway is decorated with lights to lead the way at night. The building is very rustic looking and has an older feel and look to it. It feels like you are dining in the earlier 1900s and the interior is decorated with antiquities. The workers were very nice and able to accommodate our large group. The happy hour prices are reasonable and the food good. The service was fast and friendly. They have a good selection of their own beers and spirits here. Overall this is a nice place to dine with a country type ambiance. I love coming here.

Like all of the McMenamin’s, they really nail the ambiance. From the flower-covered lit trellis walkway to the warm wood interior, they really make a lovely place to grab a drink. Like all of the McMenamin’s, they do not know how to cook food. I eat at different locations, hoping for something better, but it seems like none of their zillions of locations have a cook trained to cook meat properly. We ordered a cubano with cajun tots and a burger with fries. The cubano was decent, but the extra $ 1 for some cajun powder sprinkled on tots is hardly worth it. i could’ve just dowsed regular tots in their organic ketchup and it would’ve cost them more money. The burger was ordered medium, and it was instead a grey hockey puck. In addition to being overdone, it was significantly smaller than the bun. The extra money spent to get a «firehouse» burger resulted in a few raw jalapenos thrown on top. Their subpar food at high prices is really not encouraging me to come back. As much as I like the atmosphere, I will probably eat dinner elsewhere before I show up here again.

This is one of my favourite McMenamin’s I’ve been to. The inside is okay, but the outside area is the best. There is a lovely forest grove with white christmas lights that just rocks. You can order food at the little white shed and they will bring it out for you. Like any McMenamin’s, they have a good variety of beer and cider. Their distillery is rad. I would try to get a tour if possible. And of course the little white shed is awesome, but we can save that for it’s own review. It helps that this is in biking distance from home. The food is expensive and ok. I would pass on that and just bring a game, sit outside, and enjoy some brews.

We love McMenamins! This location has a lot of special memories though everyone one we go to typically does. Staff was awesome and helpful and very friendly. I got the Wilbur burger which was cooked to medium and of course we had to start with the Cajun tots, which are by far my favorite. They are always the perfect crunchiness and paired with the peppercorn ranch and organic ketchup! I recommend getting a beer flight and don’t forget to bring your McMenamins passport!

I really like McMennamins, enough to get married at the grand lodge in Forest Grove. I also liked the Imbrie hall road house location enough to have two wakes here. They’re very accommodating in party planning. However, if you want to use the barn in summer/fall, there’s an extremely long wait list(there was a wait list a year out for the barn when I was trying to plan my wedding). There last time I was there for dinner, the service was pretty slow and the food was a little too greasy, I didn’t feel it was worth what I paid. However, this is an atypical experience. The grounds are always beautiful and the staff is usually friendly and the beers are phenomenal.
