My husband & son finally found Barber for them
We went to another shop but my 5years old don’t want to get hair cut but he listen Mr. king
They both love his hair cut and we will absolutely come back every month.

In town for a few months and I was in search of a good barbershop. I asked around and this place was the number one choice in Waikiki. The staff was polite and service was excellent. I was very pleased with my haircut and returned a number of times to get additional haircuts. I felt welcomed and the staff made me feel at home.

I had the best hot towel shave today. One of the best I ever had. Highly recommended, professional, and respectful. #King

I was informed that I needed to make an appointment. So I called and left my info, they told me I needed a consultation, which I understood. When I finally got a live person on the phone on Friday to confirm the appointment, she was rude and it gave me attitude as to why I didn’t call earlier. I understand that it was the end of the day, but I had already told them on Monday I wanted to make an appointment for Saturday, I just was wanting to confirm the appointment. They did my brothers hair, and he liked it, but unfortunately I will not be able to experience that with them. I wish them all the best, maybe just some

There aren’t too many places that can make you feel like you’re at home from the first time you walk into an establishment but this place DELIVERS EVERY TIME! Although I hate driving to it from across the island, I do so knowing I won’t have to worry about the quality of cut. Additionally, the investment of positive reinforcement made to my children make is PRICELESS. These men are lifelong friends and I will forever be indebted to them for their service, friendship, and investment made into people’s lives with a continuous smile and hello!

We moved from the Bay Area and it has been a challenge finding a barber for my hubby and son. Glad we were able to find King. Line up and taper on point! This will be our barber until we move back!

All I can say is thank god for Unilocal!
I was in Maui for 7 days and couldn’t find a Barber close enough to get cut. The nearest barber was 30min. out of our area. Given my line of work, I needed to be within a 15Min. window. So, it began to grow! We finally got word that we would be traveling into Honolulu. Just as soon as we got established, I UnilocalED for the nearest barber shop. NOT Supercuts or anything like those franchises. I needed a Barber! I found great reviews at for this Location.
I wasn’t wrong and the reviews were on point. Great Customer Service, clean shop, nice location and overall… They know how to cut!
I’m based out of Cali and whenever I return to this area, I have a new Barber in town!!!

The Cut:
Great place for a nice clean fade. My boyfriend has tried many barbers and salons on the island and has yet to find one that he’ll return to until now. Barber King is excellent. Boyfriend asked to keep it long on top, fade the rest and that’s exactly what King did. Flawlessly.
The Beard:
They shaped his beard perfectly! Boyfriend has shaped his own beard many times, always different, always hilarious. However, I think he’s going to leave it to the professionals now that he knows how sexy and fresh he can look. ;) ;) ;)
The Experience:
We walked in with no appointment around 11:00am on a Saturday morning. Of course it was packed. King told us it would be about a 1 and half to 2 hour wait but we could put our name on the list and come back. So we went shopping at Ala Moana then came back an hour or so later to have a very enjoyable wait in their shop. Classic barber shop feel. Barbers and customers were all chatting an sharing stories. It was a very accepting and fun environment.

This is what I was looking for since moving here, a real barbershop. Got a haircut and my beard trimmed and it was how I wanted it to the T. Great barbers, great prices, everyone there was really nice.

Extremely professional and relaxed atmosphere… you won’t find such a unique dynamic anywhere else. King is exceptional in his work and is always exceeding expectations. This is a place of easy conversation and respect for all who walk through the door. You come in with a smile and walk out feeling like family.

It was really hard to find a place where I really want to come all the time to cut my hair. I like a high bald fade. I like to skin to feel silky smooth like a baby’s butt. I want my fade to be precise.
In the mainland US it’s not hard to find. They seem to be on every corner. Here in Hawaii it’s more like Supercuts and Fantastic Sams on every corner.
The price may be a little higher than what I usually pay but I get what I want. Make a reservation in advance and you won’t have to suffer the walk in line.
Mr King is always ready to take care of you.

If you’re black and looking for a cut like on the mainland come here. I would recommend making a reservation because the line and wait time can be extreme. The price is cheap considering the quality of the cut.

Been on and off the island for many years and it’s hard to find a place like da wig shop. King gives a first-​rate cut and I neva even have to tell him what I want, unless I am changing it up. he knows his customers that well. if your in da 808 and need a Cut, Da Wig shop is your spot

Flava is a clean and friendly barber shop. I’m glad that I found a barber that knows how to fade and taper the right way! I usually get cut in the Bay Area, so I know what it takes to get cleaned up. There are many other types of services too! Thank goodness they took me for an appointment (even though it was my first time) because it would taken about 2 hours for a walk-​in. Plus, they hooked it up because my wedding is the next day. $ 25 is for appointment only. King is a cool barber! I love the bald fade and convo! Thanks, Flava!

My husband went to get his hit cut and got the hook up! It had to be one of the best cuts I had seen on him. Very impressed. We went in on a Sunday and his barber (female, can’t remember her name) was on point from beginning to end. He was very pleased and is willing to drive from Wahaiwa to Honolulu to get his hair cut!

Once again Mr. king has hooked up my cut! It was Ladies Night and I needed something fresh, not only was the cut nice but he also gave me a sophisticated design.

After moving to Honolulu, I was scared to find a stylist because I’ve heard so many horror stories about stylists in Hawaii not being able to work on ethnic or curly hair. So, I tried my luck and went to the Wig Shop and the Universe was on my side because I have nothing but great things to say about this place!
There is a men’s barber shop and a women’s salon. They are separate and this makes for a a very comfortable and relaxing environment. My husband has gone to the barber shop and at any given time you see men from all backgrounds, with all different hair types and that to me is awesome!
A stylist named Slim works on my hair on the women’s side and she schedules clients so well that I’ve never sat around waiting. She makes sure not to overlap, but trust me she’s really busy! Sometimes I wish I could be seen sooner, but when I am seen I know I have her full attention.
She is so professional, kind and caring. I don’t know how long I’ll be living on the island, but I wish I could take her with me wherever I move. She’s great and my hair looks wonderful :-)

Having to wait can be long, but they do their job too the perfection. If you want a line straight it would be straight. No questions ask! They are skilled stylist… The best
I have been returning to them everytime to get my hair cut. Great service, felt so very welcomed! !!

Some locals recommended me to this spot and man the prices are great, the barbers, and the cuts! I was really happy with my cut and this is my go to barber shop from here on out. I am totally sold. I recommend parking across the street from their location because it is a lot cheaper than parking in their parking structure. ⁵⁄₅ most definitely!
