J’s Salon and Spa is my go-to place for perfectly sexy nails and hair. The owner, J, does a really great job with highlights, coloring, and cuts, always having me feel like a million bucks when I strut my stuff out of there. Su does my nails and I love the results! The staff is very friendly, skilled, and professional. The place is clean, comfortable, and a great time. THANK YOU J’s Salon!

This place is the best. This place has the best hair dressers in town. Hana takes care of my hair and is always friendly and fits me in any time. «J» is the owner and is always there with a good joke to make you laugh. Go in and ask for Hana. Tell her «Fish» sent you. She is the best!!!

Have had the Japanese Straight Perm done for years. However the last one fried my hair very bad… Decided to try the Keratin Treatment. Thankful to have found J… She is totally awesome stylist & a really fun & cool person to hang out with as the treatment takes about 2.5 hours normally. However the power went out in Koko Marina at the very end of the treatment so had the pleasure to hang out with J waiting for the power to come back on… She is a TRUE PROFESSIONAL… Master of her craft! Explained everything in detail & even gave me inside tips about washing & conditioning. Love this saloons vibe & Stoked to have J as my new stylist!

A hidden GEM for eyelashes! Being Asian and not having the fullest lashes it is hard to find an eyelash extension place that works with what I have to maximize it 500x. You need to trust her recommendations. Jenny does an amazing and meticulous job, taking her time to make you look gorgeous. Jenny is personable, professional, cute and strives for perfection. When she works on my lashes, she treats my lashes with such care, passion and excellence. Her work lasts 2x longer than any other place I have been to and worth every $!! Unfortunately I live in Mililani and this place is in Hawaii Kai but to me, it’s worth it!
When you first walk in it is a hair salon but Jenny has her own private room in the back of the salon. Just walk in the back of the salon and it is to your left.
Lie down, fall asleep and enjoy the magical hands of Jenny.

J squeezed me in after my appt at a different salon got cancelled… she was so kind on the phone and really worked to get me in that day. I brought her a whole lot of different shades of blonde to match and make shine… as well as a chop botch haircut I am trying to grow out to get her help in making look halfway decent. She took time talking me through what she was planning on doing, and making sure I both understood and WANTED that BEFORE even touching my hair. I was also really happy with the price, especially considering the work she had to do to get my hair up to par. I love it, and I love the place. So glad my appt at the other was cancelled, b/c I now found a new hairstylist! J!

After hair color disaster from a stylist I previously had, I went to Lana, at Hawaii Kai J’s Salon. She did a great cut for me a few weeks earlier and an awesome hair color and highlight job! She introduced me to the latest NYC trend in highlighting, and I was excited to get my hair «painted» by her. Her expertise showed by how quickly and precisely she works, I like that. Totally love my hair and it gets complimented wherever I go! :)

Haecha has been my stylist for over 2 years. She helped me go from a dark brown color back to blonde. I’d highly recommend calling her if you have been looking for someone that knows blonde hair.

First time at this salon and first time getting my eyelashes done! I was very nervous because I was told by many people that I shouldn’t get it and that I don’t need it. Jenny assisted me and she was very nice and did a FABULOUS job! I am now in love with my eyelashes and everyone has been complimenting on how natural they look. They look like my very own lashes! Ask for jenny! She’s delicate and they do not hurt when she puts them on. :D

I’ve had a couple rough hair cuts at the previous salon I went to. I won’t name names. So I decided to try J Salon in Hawaii Kai. I must say I was very happy and will stick to this place if my hair is consistent with the cut I got today. Mens cut cost me $ 27 which included a shampoo after and touched up my hair to get the small spots that were missed after drying it. Everything was just worth it. For guys that are picky with their hair, this salon will definitely style you nicely and make sure you don’t have to touch up spots yourself after you go home and wash your hair.

Just got my nails done with Su jin. She us awesome. She did such a great job on my nails. I usually leave after getting my nails done feeling like something is missing, and not completely satisfied. I see every little detail and scrutinize everything usually… Not with her. My nails were better then expected She was very accomodating… i was half an hour late and she didnt rush doing my nails or anything. She does great designs. This is someone who truly loves her job and it shows thru her work. I strongly recommend her:)

This was my first time here and my first time highlighting my hair. When I first saw the final touch of my hair I was in love! the stylist who did my hair was Tommy Morgan he did an awesome job. I would recommend Tommy especially for cutting and coloring hair oh yeah and styling!:) Please everyone go to super tommy and he will help you with what you need! you will not regret.

Went to J salon and had a brow wax after a bad experience at a different salon in Hawaii Kai! Su did a wonderful job and even though she wanted to go a bit thinner she listened and did them the way I wanted them! Because if the job she did and her great personality I went back for a pedicure two days later, Su was busy so I had Raynette do my pedi… fantastic job! I will be returning for both services! And who knows next I might get my hair done. So hard to find a great salon in Hawaii Kai for these services, Highly recomended!!!

Review for gel mani, pedi and eye brows.
Su did all 3 services on me.
First off my eye brows were done well and she does have wax she can use if you have sensitive skin.
As for my gel manicure and my pedicure, she did an awesome job. I’m picky about my gel. I don’t like when it’s too this and I hate when it’s too thin. I love glitter and she did an awesome glitter fade on my tips. Then she did a nail design on my toes and also added glitter. This is the best place I’ve found in Hawaii Kai and Su is very friendly and easy to talk to. I finally found an awesome place to get my nails done!

Jenny Pang is WONDERFUL! I wanted to get eyelash extensions done today, but she was already out of appointments, since I was only in town for a few days, she accommodated by taking me after closing. The extensions look amazing, makes a statement yet still looks natural, can’t even tell that it’s extensions. Jenny was so nice, made me feel very comfortable even though the process is not. Lying still with your eyes closed for 90mins is not easy, even though there’s a pillow, the back of my head and neck started to hurt after a while. I can move my arms and legs a bit, but was still so stiff that felt like rigor mortis was setting in… Throughout the whole process, Jenny kept telling me «thank you» for staying still and not fidgeting, I mean, she did a fantastic job I should be thanking her, right? Thank you Jenny!

I recently had my nails done by a fabulous artist. Raynette Hall is a new nail tech at the salon but her experience and professionalism surpassed my expectations. It’s always nice to be able to sit down, relax and have a nice conversation, and be pampered! The quality of my nails were great. They lasted long with no chipping or cracking. I loved my personalized design. She really is creative!

I was luckily able to get an appointment with J this morning. She was fabulous!
I found myself with a last second day off and called to see if anyone could squeeze me in for a haircut and blow out. J graciously came into work early to take care of me before her first scheduled client.
My hair looks and feels fabulous! Very happy first time client! I will definitely being seeing her again.

I got my hair cut at J Boutique Salon and Spa a couple of weeks ago. While the cut came out great, there’s two things made my experience less than ideal:
1) The stylist made no conversation with me whatsoever except to ask what kind of haircut I wanted
2) The stylist asked me to get cash from across the street, but I’m pretty sure I saw a credit card machine in the salon
I’ll might give this place another chance, but I’ll probably request for another stylist.

Hazel Lee is a FANTASTIC eyelash extension artist.
Not only are my eyelashes bold and beautiful, I often get comments on how natural they look. Hazel really enjoys doing it, and you can tell because they look natural yet dramatic and she takes her time tok place them properly.
Also, she uses a longer lasting glue so my eyelashes stay put for a longer period of time.

After much research and finally deciding on J Salon from a previous Unilocal review, i had a consultation with Tracy Taylor. She was very nice, professional in manner as well as appearance. After discussing my concerns with her about finding a new stylist and one who was familiar with blonds, I decided to book an appointment for the next day as she had an opening.
Very happy with the results, she did a FABULOUS JOB with the color and I am very pleased with the color.
Bottom line, if you are from the mainland and freaking out about finding a new colorist/stylist, I would recommend Tracy at J Boutique and Salon.
TIP: have cash with you as she doesn’t accept credit cards!
