Hawaiian Taco

Great shrimp tacos, not overly cooked. It has a garnish of special pineapple sauce that gives it a twist.

We loved Hawaiian Taco! You couldn’t beat 3 stuffed, delicious tacos for $ 8!!! I always got the Kalua pig taco with coconut cream sauce… AMAZING!!! The sauce was to die for!!! Hubby went with the shrimp taco that had a pineapple sauce. We always received fast, friendly service here. They always hooked my hubby up with some suuuuuper spicy salsa!!! I’m so sad that they’re gone now, along with the rest of the International Market Place… if anyone ever finds out if they’ve relocated and where, please please PLEASE let me know. I miss their tacos so bad!!!

I got the 3 shrimp tacos with the melted cheese on the tortilla & the dressing on top. It was, hands down, the best shrimp taco I have ever had. I live in California & want to go back to Hawaii just to have that taco again! Cheap price, great food, and sweet guy that works there.

My 9 yr old kid’s review: It was just an average chicken taco, not much meat, mostly tasted like sour cream (it was visibly heavy on the sour cream!)

Shrimp quesadilla is amazing!!! Full if delicious & flavorable shrimp. Good prices as well as great quality and superb service! A must visit while shopping :)

Located in the Waikiki Marketplace… I think you can find better eats in the food court area. The tacos were very standard to me. The only thing that made the taco Hawaiian was the coconut/​pineapple cream sauce that’s served on the side of the taco. I think it was a little over priced for what i got… maybe I ordered the wrong item, but I sure didn’t enjoy it as much as everyone else did, or does.
Service was a little slow too, and the staff saw where I was sitting and didn’t even let me know my food was ready, they waited until I came back to the counter to pick it up. And they weren’t busy, so don’t give me that excuse. It didn’t even seem like they wanted to take my order when I first came up… I know you might be bored, but dude, seriously? Would you rather I went somewhere else? I probably should have. Maybe it was late in the evening and everyone wanted to go home so I got subpar everything…
…maybe I’ll try it again and get the burrito next time.

See those one and two star reviews down there? Those guys have no idea what they’re talking about. To the guy from Iowa City who was criticizing fish tacos? Dude… that’s like a Hawaiian dude criticizing cornbread or something like that. Maybe I was just really hungry or the cook was really inspired on this day because I got simply the best (I mean it — the *BEST*) shrimp burrito I’ve ever had in my life! My wife wasn’t as adventurous so she went with the chicken tacos and I thought those were pretty good too. I’ll say the presentation of my burrito could’ve been better — it was overstuffed and I had to use a fork and also their hot sauce is forgettable — don’t even bother with it. The lady working the register was smiling hard and she brought out everyone’s food in a reasonably quick manner.

This is inside the Waikiki Marketplace. I’ve eaten here twice. I do like the food but the service is slow. I usually just get the chicken or beef tacos since the place is expensive!

The nacho at this place is nasty and overpriced for $ 12. WARNING !!! Don’t go to this place ever. This is first and last time going here. I don’t like to write bad reviews but this place is so bad that I had to write one to just warn everyone.

This was as good as many of the actual restaurants I went to. Get the coconut sauce. My husband doesn’t usually like coconut but fresh is a whole different thing. In the picture the lettuce makes the pork taco look plain but the pork is SO full flavored it is so delicious.

Nice place to eat a Taco or Burrito in midst of the food court. Prcies are aceptable for this location close to Waikiki Beach. I had a veggie Burrito which was freshly prepared. Do not expect to eat the biggest Burrito in your life here. It’s more kind of a snack inbetween.

I had a fish taco with the homemade pineapple sauce on two soft corn tortillas (which I made into two tacos;) was very happy that a side of chips was included.

I wouldn’t normally make the effort to review a place like this because it was what I would call, «not bad» or «pretty decent.» Since I live here, I’d even say, I’d do it again. I just wanted to weigh in on the shrimp burrito since that other Unilocaler ripped it so bad. I got it and I liked it alright. The shrimp weren’t jumbo, but they weren’t minis either. The beans and rice were obviously cooked together and the consistency was mushy. I thought it was good that way. They could have gone with a little less sour cream and guac to cut back the squish factor, but again, not a show stopper, unless you’re on a diet. Finally, I don’t know what the bit sauce was, but it was good too. So, disregard what that other Unilocaler said. That was harsh.

The fish tacos are amazing, the pork quesadilla too! I always add some guacamole inside and it is even better.
My friend always order the burrito and he loves it.
Plus the staffs is awesome!

This place is really all about location. If you’re shopping in Waikiki (especially the international market) then this is an OK option for lunch. The prices are possibly high, but then this is Waikiki… I got the 3 taco option and split it 2 shrimp and 1 fish. I’m pretty sure the shrimp were a bit over cooked, but the creamy pineapple sauce made up for that. The portion was good for lunch. The guy behind the counter recommended a burrito if I was really hungry, but the 3 taco platter was more than enough. The seating is common to the eating area, just like most malls.
A quick tip: get your drink from a different stall when eating here.

The Good: The French girl! The tacos I guess.

The Review: 2 stars for the shrimp tacos, 1 whole star for the French girl working the register. The tacos were pretty bland until you add some sauce to it. There was a coconut sauce that I wasn’t so fond of. They supply a good amount of shrimp, but like I said, a bit bland.
Now on to this French girl. Haha just kidding. She was very cute and she had a really sexy accent. ’nuff said.

Saw this place while looking for some souvenirs and attempting to find matching Hawaiian shirts… long story. But at $ 4 a shrimp taco, this place ain’t cheap. If you’re in the area though, and craving a quick bite to hold you over until the real meal, GO FOR IT. The white, creamy pineapple sauce was divine. I need to replicate it for my future Mexican-​themed luau!

Original, often imitated but never duplicated. Nuthin like I’ve tasted in my life (in terms of tacos that is). Had the shrimp and fish tacos, with the pineapple sauce on DA side, saaayyy what??? Uh yeah, pineapple sauce on the side. Mouth is watering writing about this ya’ll. My meal was light and tastaaayyyyy. My taste buds were doing the Gangnam style! It really did. LOL
Ummm ummmm good, and I’m not talking bout no damn Cambell’s soup. So if you are ever in Oahu, stop on by to this spot and grab some bomb a** tacos!

I got a fish, chicken and beef taco. All were ok, the fish being the least satisfying and the chicken and beef being alright. As others have listed, the amount of meat and portion of a taco here is good. Chips were good too even though they probably came from a bag bought at Safeway:). Not to sure about the pineapple white salsa served on the side… I tried it with my fork 3 – 4 times trying to decide how I felt, first I liked it next I didn’t. You will have to decide for yourself as it is a unique flavor.
Being in the International Market though I can’t justify giving more than 3 stars.
