We were the only one’s ordering which concerned us, but within 5 minutes the place was packed. Food was delicious. I got the salad bowl(veggie) which was filled to the brim. The hubs got the grilled fish tacos, which he said were yummy but there is literally 1 very small piece of fish(which the lady warned him about, so not complaining about not knowing). Very small space for eating inside, a few tables outside. Overall really yummy, just wish there was more fish in the tacos since you’re next to the ocean. Otherwise, I would recommend!

Walking in Wendy greeted us with contagious enthusiasm. The three of us began ordering to a rush of activity, the fish tacos were battered and fried right before our eyes, the toppings generously piled onto the tacos with efficiency, the staff conversing congenially through the whole experience. The tacos themselves were amazing. Fish fried immediately before joining the rest of a taco tastes exponentially better than otherwise, the poke was fresh and flavorful. Overall this place is an amazing culinary experience and a great deal in Waikiki.

Went here a couple of weeks ago with some friends & had an amazing dinner! I had two tacos(shrimp & beer battered fish) pretty close to moms cooking. Id say they have the best tacos in Waikiki

We were staying around the corner and kept saying that we needed to try this place. So good! They have more than just tacos-rice bowls, quesadillas, etc. I got the 2 taco meal-steak and chicken, along with chips and salsa. They have a set up almost like chipotle, where you can get different toppings with your tacos. I got a little bit of everything. The meat was delicious and flavored just right. The salsa was great and had a kick to it, which I love. They have outdoor seating and it feels so good with the perfect breeze blowing. The staff was also incredibly friendly and so helpful. So glad we decided to go here. I’ll be back next time!!!

Very slow service. The prices and proportions are an abomination. Also being Hispanic I can tell you… this is bad Mexican/Texan food. I was hungry so I ate tej tacos but oh man it tasted very bland and portions so small. I left still hungry.

This place is amazing !! Their name plays it down but food options here are way more than just tacos. Delious and fresh food. They have variety of seafood options and healthy substitutes like brown rice, love it. Super value for money

This place was great overall! We ordered chicken tacos, shrimp tacos and some nachos. My 2yr old spilled out drink on the tray and our tacos were soaked. The cashier seen it and said he totally understood and he offered to replace our soaked tacos! Great customer service! The tacos were delicious and so were the nachos! Definitely a place to stop by while in Waikiki!

This place was an extremely awesome find. Don’t let the name fool you, they serve more than just tacos!!! I ordered the steak bowl which came with black beans, rice, cheese, tons of deliciously seasoned steak and of course I got guacamole! The portions were enough that two people could have eaten this meal. The staff was inviting, seating is available inside as well as outside. They have a tv that plays a lot of surfing contests and quite frankly it’s a great little hole in the wall dive. I’ll be making this a «go to» spot every time I go to Waikiki.

Due to convenience and despite the bad reviews I tried this place out. I got a rice bowl and salsa and chips. The rice bowl was good– simple –nothing amazing but not very disappointing; the salsa however — - the green and the red was horrrrrrrible.(Did I add enough r’s?!) My friend and I nearly threw up when we ate the green one and the red salsa tastes like tomato sauce with chopped onion, like just very very very bad– like so bad that I will gladly give this place my grandmothers salsa recipe because I am somewhat offended(being a Mexican and all from California where real salsa is made :)) that they even serve this stuff as salsa, still can’t believe it was that gross. The girl who worked there seemed to hate her job and moved slow but wasn’t rude at all she was actually polite! I wouldn’t recommend since Maui Tacos is right down the street, cheaper and has actual salsa.

I’ll start by saying that this place has — by far — the slowest service of any taco shop I’ve ever been to. I live in California and frequent many taquerias, marisco stands, and taco trucks. It is rare I skewer any establishment in Unilocal and I haven’t reviewed in some time. This experience was so outside the norm I could not — not — speak out. In Waikiki fast casual apparently means«expect to spend an hour waiting to order your food». There were approximately 5 parties ahead of me, some of them families of 2 – 4. I started standing in line at 7:42pm, and was out of the shop with food in hand at exactly 8:42. The line didn’t wrap around the building, the corner, or even extend much past the front door. I’ll attribute most of their slow service to the fact that one person took the order and made half the order before passing it off to another person to finish and collect the payment. Why not have one person taking orders and collecting payment and another person making food full time? Slow service was the start — but an hour long wait for entirely average tacos was a real disappointment. I ordered some churros, too, but they were essentially bricks covered in cinnamon and sugar. So hard they are inedible. Bottom line: if you’ve never eaten a taco in your life, and there are no people ahead of you in line, this establishment might be a starting point for introduction to Mexican food. If you see any semblance of a line at all and want to eat within the next 30 – 45 minutes, consider going somewhere else. Brutally slow service combined with lackluster — and at times inedible — food. No thanks.

The flavor of the food is ok, however the service is below normal. The lady seemed overwhelmed for the very few customers that they had. The plate they served the tacos was messy. The rice was old, the beans were burnt, and the sauces were standing out in warm temperature. Not a place I’ll be going back to.

Tourist beware you might see a very long line, I know most of the time that is a great sign to go there, this restaurant is the exception do not waste your time and your money. As all locals know and most tourists Hawaii is not known for having great Mexican food so to be fair I always rate Mexican food in Hawaii on that scale and this place still served disappointment. I had been waiting to go to this place for so long always seeing the long lines and the fact that I live very close. To be honest the only reason the line is so long is because they take forever to make your food, yes there are not many people who work there so it’s not that the workers aren’t trying very hard but it still takes too long. I tried to convince myself that the food was worth the wait because I live close and I would come all the time because I love Mexican food but it’s just not. And if the price was more fair I would return but it’s no cheaper than any other place I honestly prefer Maui tacos in the food court. Just my opinion but due to the line the price and the overall quality of the product I cannot return nor recommend this place.

Daughter and I got 2 fried fish tacos and a shrimp salad bowl. We weren’t expecting anything as good as CAli Mexican food, but it was decent. Only issue I had was that my daughters fish tacos were COLD on the bottom. The fish itself wasn’t the issue, perhaps the toppings were frozen? The salad bowl was decent, good portions. I’m taking a star off for the fish taco and one star off for the ridiculously slow service. They were busting their butts off, but they should consider adding another cook!

We constantly walked by here and saw how they always had a lot of customers eating here and finally decided to stop in one night. Luckily when we came, it was busy at all. Very small establishment with a few tables outside only. They have a variety of dishes and meats to choose from. Not so many toppings but it was good enough. Kalbi Burrito They cook /grill the Kalbi steak when you order it. The flavor of the meat was strong, sweet and delicious. The burrito itself is very short but fat. Avocado is extra cost. Overall it was a good simple burrito. Shrimp Tacos They cook /grill the shrimp when you order it as well. The shrimps are fat and juicy. It only comes with two tacos but it was delicious. Overall, its a great place to go for asian fusion mexican food.

There will be a line, and you will wonder if this place is good. But then as you are in line you might also question the cleanliness of this place. but because you been in line for so long you just stay there. You look at what other people order and then you maybe wonder if you should get it too. Well … I stayed and I got mine. The two 20 something boys that works there are nice but i can tell that they know very little about Mexican food and authentic taco. Maybe they do but that’s not what they are selling . The fish tacos, grilled, fried, and kalbi was what I got . It wasn’t bad but it wasn’t as good as some of the reviewer explained it. But I was in Hawaii, and it was Tuesday and I’m used to getting tacos on taco Tuesday since I’m from the west coast. But it satisfied what needed to be. Would I stand in line for an average, a little over priced taco for what it was ? Probably not. I’m fine with yard house fish taco next time I visit Hawaii and it falls on a Tuesday

I was so impressed with this little hole in the wall on my last visit to Waikiki a year and a half ago. I just loved their Kalbi Tacos. We had also had their Grilled fish and Garlic Shrimp Tacos on the previous visits. I asked the wife what she wanted for lunch as we just arrived to Waikiki and she of course said Surf and Turf Tacos — her favorite. Sadly the Kalbi Tacos were a huge disappointment. They were not the tender tasty Tacos we craved. They was tougher than leather and did not taste like any Kalbi I ever had. The Garlic Shrimp were very good though and we did enjoy them. The grilled fish was pretty light on the actual fish part so that was also a let down. Not sure what happened to this Gem but I am sad to say they are below average and for what you get on the expensive side. You do get the Chipotle style add your toppings. I don’t remember that from before so I think Millennial’s had influenced this place and that may be what has caused their quality to slip. Had it not been for the Garlic Shrimp being so tasty I would have given them 2 stars. Also of note the fryer was down so they didn’t have the fried items which according to several guests are some of the better items. As with many things time has not been good to Surf and Turf Tacos — sad day as I used to love them and raved how good they were. Like Antonia in Vegas says — move on folks nothing to see here!

I’m a regular here and feel that the quality of their food and service has been hit or miss. Their serving size has always been iffy but today I was served two comically small fish tacos. These tacos aren’t cheap either, $ 10/pair. Im still starving. Last time it took 45 minutes because the cook forgot to turn on the oil. Think I have to find a new fish taco spot.

Bien.

Got a chicken rice bowl. It was okay. The spicy guacamole was tasty but the chicken was subpar at best. The rice was good, the black beans were good as well. Overall id stop here and grab a bite again but i dont know about going out of my way for it.

My coworker & I were craving tacos, but we also both brought home lunch, so we decided to share the Dos Tacos. I didn’t expect it to be so HUGE, but I’m not complaining. We had the kalbi tacos wrapped in a taro tortilla & filled with a good amount of meat & all the fixings. Uhhh yum! Seriously, just absolutely delicious especially paired with the hottest sauce mmmm. Anyway, back to it’s size. The taco was SOOOBIG — we had to use both hands & for us to actually eat it, we needed to allow some of the filling to fall on to our plates. We eventually ended up with a ‘side salad’ & needed to finish up with a fork. We enjoyed the tacos & the friendly service. Will be back for taco Tuesday for sure!
