We have been here many times over the years. Every visit has been decent. Casual atmosphere and friendly staff. Love the space and the amazing view! I think about the place often, back home in the frigid mainland Midwest!

We did the cruise today. It was great. I wish the Aloha was as strong back at the bar. I have been a customer for about 10 years, and I have seen /felt a decline in the service, the atmosphere, and the quality of the drinks. I used to really like the Mai Tai, and the whole experience. I miss the pretzels. I think that things have really changed. I get the feeling that Hula’s is not doing all that well, and that things might change. I hate to disrespect a place, or the staff, but I sense a discontent. And I am not the only one. Other people have commented the same concerns to me. I wish I could talk to the owner and let him know how I /we feel. Its such a great spot, and we have had such a great time there, but now, its just another bar. I hate that. I wish them only the best. And hope that it will come back stronger than before.

Sadly, my wife and I had a less than pleasant experience here. As someone who was born and raised in Waikiki, I know all about Hulas and how it has been here on the island for an incredibly long time. So, I was excited to bring my wife here for her first time in Hawaii. Unfortunately the bartender at the time had a nasty attitude and seemed almost annoyed that we had walked into his bar. I couldn’t help but wonder if it was because we don’t necessarily look like a couple. Hopefully not, I’m hoping he was just having a bad day. So as far as customer service, Meh. Not so good, at least in my experience. Now for drinks? Nothing to write home about either. I realize I am absolutely spoiled now that I live in LA, my expectations are fairly high, BUT my drink was fairly weak and my wife’s drink was made with the wrong vodka. So there ya go. I have nothing else to say and I’d say if ya really want to check out Hulas, then by all means go. I hope that your experience is waaay better! If you want a great gay bar with amazing bartenders and strong drinks for a reasonable price– go to Bacchus.

The bartender was extremely rude when I went to ask for a menu to go so I could have a holiday party there. Def not going to get our business ever or a good word for their bar!

Remember when Hula’s had that gigantic banyan tree? On Kuhio Avenue? No? Am I dating myself here? Now they are across a gigantic banyan tree. I like this location better, because 1. I’m now of legal age, 2. lots of parking, and 3. people watching from above is the best! I love it! I always feel so at home here. Lots of room and the other patrons are so friendly. I love the servers, they’re so full of energy! Food is good too. If you are fortunate to come during a show, they really get the audience into it! You cannot just sit back and watch. You’ll really get into it, even for you introverts! I love it! If there’s a DJ, get your groove on and shake your booty. Doesn’t matter if you dance by yourself or with friends or a stranger! Just dance! The music gets me and I love it! I love you, Hula’s! You’re the best! I love it!

I went there with my partner and another couple thinking it would be a nice place, but I was very wrong. I ask the bartender if there are any beer specials and he said«obviously not, it’s Friday.» A pretty rude way to speak to someone, especially here in Waikiki. Five dollar cover per person to enter then $ 26 for four Coronas. The bathrooms are gross and the place is a real tragic dive. Avoid this place, it will give you a bad impression of Hawai’i

SSSStronGGG AF Mai Tais, nice service, kinda pricey on drinks including brews. Had 6 drinks total, paid 50 bucks … 6 packs cost like 15 max around here at a walk in conveinient store ! Either way cool place, upbeat, lively people! Me and and the wife enjoyed a few hours of hanging back, looking forward to checking it out on busy weekend.

We have never been treated so poorly. David at the bar should be fired. He was so rude. We went there on a whim and ordered a round and paid for it. We were just stopping for one and going. Then we found some people to chat with and went to buy another round. DAVID said he wouldn’t take or credit card. Saying we should have opened a tab. Trust me we would have drank. A lot more but David was a poor service provider. We did run into sweet Lee and are got us a round and said she was very sorry. I sure hope he isn’t there for next time because we will just turn around and leave. Xoxox to Lee. She’s great.

Hula’s is a blast! There’s always a new adventure to be had when you walk through the doors into the breezy atmosphere. It doesn’t get more Oahu than this! The staff are all adorable and entertaining. There’s a great food selection as well –I like the Rueben sliders especially. Surf on over asap. Cheers!

I LOVE this place! Great anytime of the day, great appetizers, great views, great drink specials, the bartenders are always spunky, the dancers are delicious, and I can’t stop dancing! My only disappointment is the lack of females. See you soon!

This review is for anyone planning an event(bachelor, bachelorette, birthday party) here. Contact Dyan via the website and you will get HOOKEDUP! Our bachelorette party felt like superstars having our own VIP table by the dance floor and a personalized scrolling marquee on the big screen! We didn’t take advantage of bottle service, but that’s definitely an option. The perfect scene for a bachelorette party: dance floor was packed and the DJ switched it up between pop and EDM. You don’t have to dance, though — you can just be entertained by some very talented go-go dancers :)

A must do while in the area. Friendly people, relaxed and casual. This was our bar to cocktail before dinner each night. Friendly staff, decent drinks, good mix of tourists and regulars.

This place was conveniently located inside our building, just a few floors away from our room so we decided to give it a go. The place had some cool music playing and the staff was friendly and helpful. The place is clean and spacious and if you sit by the open windows, you can get a nice ocean breeze to blow through your hair as you sip on some tasty drinks and people watch. I am glad I had a quick stop here for just a mimosa. My body was craving it and I just had to get one for sure. This place had a good handful of mimosa flavors which is one of the reasons why I gave them full 5 stars. I couldn’t decide if I wanted the guava or the pineapple mimosa, I went for the pineapple one and wasn’t disappointed. I love how all these reviews state the ocean breeze, trust me! It is def very nice.

Enjoyed Hula’s as I usually do when I’m here — it’s an institution, there are always folks ready to make conversation, and it’s pretty amazing to have this kind of gay real estate, with Diamond Head and an ocean view. Friday and Saturday are pretty big, but I’ve always found other nights lacking as there aren’t usually enough people to fill the space. Also, we had a couple creepers really pushing in on us this visit; awkwardness ensued. I do want to point out the weekly Saturday catamaran — it was a blast, a highlight of our time in Waikiki. We got to take in the bay, cruise around past Diamond Head, and catch some waves before turning around, with solid music, mai tai cocktails(for purchase), and a free drink waiting for us upon our return, all for only $ 20. I’d repeat on future trips when possible.

Pitchers of mai tais for $ 12? Yes please! The only problem was, after my pitcher, I was too sleepy and had to go back to the hotel instead of going to dinner like we’d planned. Oops. The drinks are strong, the staff is friendly. There are nice open windows with an ocean breeze coming in. We came early, around 7 or so, and it wasn’t too crowded, but it wasn’t dead either. Cool spot!

Serendipitously stumbled upon the bar and it’s really quaint in the day and quite perfect to take a break from the sun as you soak in the lovely views of the beach and Diamond Head, gentle breeze in your face, while enjoying a lovely Mai Tai. Caught a sunset here and truly gorgeous. Good happy hour and I got a cheap pitcher of beer following my Mai Tai as they transitioned into evening live music. Pretty chill overall and friendly staff. Aloha. And welcome to Hula’s.
