When Martini Zoo first opened it wasn’t that good. Their drinks are what brough us back each time. We noticed the gradual improvement of the food. Martini Zoo makes their own pizza. We were told they get their special thin crust from a vendor who makes them exclusively for Martini Zoo. Depending on toppings the pizzas range from $ 10 – 15. Cheeseburgers also cooked perfectly & are juicy. Comes with the frozen curly fries though. Pork chops are also cooked juicy & tender, & seasoned perfectly. They have a special where you can order pork chops with curry sauce. Tastes like Mexican style curry. An unusual, but excellent combination. The curry makes a good dip for other things. Furikake garlic chicken is a must. Fried rice was pretty good. We like the toppings & the fact that Spam was NOT one of them, but it could be improved if they source their rice from something of higher quality. One time they had pastels in special. Overall it was very good & authentic tasting, but a little dry, probably cause they didn’t wrap it in enough banana leaf. The good thing was they didn’t cook it in aluminum foil, which can ruin the taste completely. We tried other menu items & specials too, but we were too drunk to remember the details. What we do know is that Martini Zoo is a great place to eat even if you’re not boozing. Food will run up to $ 20 per person unless you eat like a pig… with drinks about $ 30 – 40, more if you’re a camel. Lots of space to throw darts if you’re into that. Two things that kinda suck are the pink walls on the interior & the bus-up narrow parking lot outside. Other than that with the great food, booze & friendly staff it’s a great place to chill.

I like to go to Martini Zoo to play on the poker machines and shoot darts. It’s a nice casual place to go and chill out. The staff is super cool and the service is always great. I like to eat their curry(I ask them to make it with fish) and pizzas. It’s delicious Indian curry made by a nice Indian man. Oh, and they have this yummy shot called Strawberry Bomb and it tastes like strawberry soda!

great little sports bar around the corner from the old daiei, now don quixote, behind hawaiian brians. equipped a billiards table, a handful of darts machines, affordable drinks, and ono pupus, what more can you ask for? they advertise the fights, although i’ve never been to martinis to watch one. drink, cruise, and chop it up with some of the cute waitresses! hollaa!

First of all, don’t let the foo-foo name foo-foo-fool you… this place is a legit sports bar. A large group of friends and i came here to have some drinks before going out to Pearl Ultra Lounge. However, because the drinks were cheap, the music was good and the food was decent, we wanted to stay. The manager also bought us shots and a pizza! Top notch service in my book. I usually go there to hammer down some drinks; but i once had their burgers and fries which ended up being really good. Go there if you and your friends are looking for a chill place to kick it and grab some beers.

Slammers relocated to the Old Dixie grill, renamed Kanpai and now a new bar is born, Martini Zoo.(Martini Zoo is where slammers use to be on Kalakaua Ave.) Friendly staff, beautiful waitress, bartender took care of us. Sent us a round on the house. Food is delicious. Typical local bar food, spam and egg sandwich, fried saimin, steak, porkchops, chicken gizzards, soybeans, fries, burgers, kalbi, pizza. Food is very reasonable. 10 oz steak 13 bucks, sandwiches 6 bucks for 2, fried rice 6 bucks, cheap for a bar. Drinks were poured heavy. They don’t have an extensive martini list, which confused me since the name Martini Zoo had me thinking there would be Martini’s up the ying yang. They don’t even have a drink menu. Cool place to chill, throw darts, watch sports, drink and eat. The only thing that kills me is the pink walls. I know the owner’s got to be a chick or a mahoo. But then it would be a gay bar, and clearly this place isn’t. Sunday night was quiet.
