I went to Liza to get my eye brows shaped and she did suuuuch a good job! My eye brows are totally different and they look so good. Only complaint was when I walked into the salon, there was this guy (don’t know who he was or what his job was) and he was on a laptop, and I told him I had an appointment with Liza and he was a total jerk. He definitely shouldn’t be sitting at front and talking to people especially first timers like me

Came to see Liza for an eyebrow shaping… she was so amazing! I’m not one to really wear make up or worry about my facial hair but she was so informative and really just made me realize how much of a difference brows can make when done right instead of just getting a quick wax. She uses soy for the process which smelled good and wasn’t painful at all :) I can’t wait to go back and get a facial from her, also she does military discount… score!

At a friend’s recommendation, I contacted Anjalee at Nueve Salon! She was very friendly and helpful with making an appointment. I wanted to do my haircut and color but turns out there was not enough time for coloring. I settled for getting a haircut first, as I am in desperate need of some chopping action.
Free parking downstairs! This was a relief. I hate finding street parking. The salon is in Kakaako and pretty easy to find.
I showed Anjalee some photos on pinterest of how I may want bangs and we worked something out. I got longer bangs than anticipated, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. I chopped off over 6 inches of hair — yay! I would have liked to go shorter but Anjalee recommended that longer layers be better for «weighing down» my hair so it doesn’t get as poofy. :)

Sadly I don’t know what a haircut from here is like so I cannot comment on the quality of services. But if you have a busy schedule or someplace to be after your scheduled appointment, I would not come here. We confirmed the night before on our appointment time but only one side felt the need to honor this. Waited unacknowledged by 3 staff for 20 mins until I finally texted the hairdresser, Anjalee. Claiming you did not see the customer is not an excuse… 25 minutes after my scheduled appointment time you would at least look up from your work to see if your next customer is there instead of waiting for them to come look for you. Put a bell on the door or wear a watch, you’re in the service industry!

Anjalee! Called the day before to get an appointment for a balayage. They were accommodating and took down my number. She called me back and scheduled an appointment with me for the following day for 5pm. And let me tell you… she was right on time! Love her! So fast, so friendly. She did a great job on my hair!
As far as the salon goes, there is free parking downstairs and also metered street parking if all the stalls are taken. As far as I’ve heard, all the stylists here are great.
The location, right in Kakaako, is convenient for those in town. Worth the drive.
One warning, though: they may not answer the phone. I think a lot of the stylists give out their own personal numbers in order to schedule appointments. Check their website for the information.
Give this place a try and you might be pleasantly surprised.

Came here thanks to a groupon for Cindy E and a friend’s recommendation. I rarely let my expectations rise for any occasion as for one, people rarely meet my expectations and two, I hate the feeling of disappointment. But for Cindy, she set the bar for me!!!
I came in for a trim and ombré as I have been wanting to get some color in my hair. Let me start off by saying, I LOVE MY HAIR!!! Cindy listens to what you want and adjusts to fix your hair so it suits you! She is very meticulous, detailed, and takes the time to give you that individual attention every person needs for their hair. Prior to my cut and color, my hair was dark brown and medium length with no real shape to it. After Cindy, my hair is a beautiful color of brown, dark brown, and golden brown with multiple layers put in! Needless to say, I had a great experience and will be coming back again for all my hair needs!

Just went back for my second haircut at Nueve with Abe and yet again a fantastic experience and cut! Thank you!

I just got stopped by 3 ladies asking where I get my hair done! Well for anyone who wants amazing hair (color or cut) you have to go see Cindy @ Nueve! I initially found her through groupon and got a haircut a month ago. Exactly what I wanted. Today I went in for partial balayage and it turned out just perfect. I’m used to paying 3 – 4 times more than what she charges for her services and been to top stylists on the island and I can truly say she is just as talented. So glad I found her! Nice clean salon, lots of parking and relaxing!

It’s a nice cozy salon. I like how it doesn’t have the salon smell or feel. It’s very nice. The service was great too. I went in under a groupon so price was awesome. Groupon came with Cindy. She was friendly but she seemed pretty quiet and there really wasn’t much to entertain. Maybe I’ll check out another stylist. Plus, my haircut was kind of uneven and unclean ends especially on the front side of my hair and near my bangs.

Anjalee is who to see if during your visit to Honolulu you need a special look for a special someone or a special event. You will be gratified beyond your wildest dreams.
We recently relocated to Waikiki and after four weeks were in desperate need of the services of a stylist. A neighbor’s recommendation took us to the Nueve Salon in Kakaako. The salon is on the second floor of an office building with ample parking and close to a bus stop.
More importantly Nueve Salon is where Anjalee works her magic. She is a delightful person who actually listens before commencing work. Although she had never styled our hair before she was able to discern our needs after a few questions and a wash and combing.
Previously we had our hair styled on Boston’s Newbury Street so we expect the best from our stylist. Anjalee exceeded our wildest expectations. She is an artist who relies almost solely on scissors and a passion for perfection.

Cindy did a wonderful job with my hair. I have very curly hair that bounces up when cut so I’m always nervous to try a new hair stylist. Cindy was very meticulous, listened to my concerns before doing anything and I’m very happy with the way my hair turned out. I highly recommend booking an appointment with her!

My husband, daughter and I have all been seeing Linnea for years. We followed her over from her previous location and couldn’t be happier. I am usually the most difficult to pin down on what it is I want done so I ask for suggestions. She has never steered me wrong! She also seems to have her finger on the pulse of what is current as well as what might be the best style for her clients. Bottom line, Linnea is awesome!
As for the salon itself, it is very clean and welcoming (even to our very energetic 2 year old son)! The owner, Abe is always very friendly and attentive which makes this salon that much better than anywhere else we have been. It’s rare that you get any face time with the owner of a busy salon. I would recommend anyone who is looking for a new salon/​stylist to come check out Nueve Salon & Spa!

went in for my first time seeing all the good reviews but I didn’t get a chance to experience all the things nueve had to offer because I waited for 15 minutes without being acknowledged at all. they lost out on a new customer’s business because they couldn’t even look up for half a second to acknowledge my presence. I booked my appointment at ho’ala the same day.

I searched and searched Unilocal and talked to friends to find the perfect hair stylist and I was about to give up when I found Nueve Salon & Spa. I called immediately and was able to get an appointment in less than a week. Yay!
Its Kaka’ako location is perfect for me and walking distance from my house. There is also plenty of free parking. Inside the salon is very clean, not pretentious, and I felt very at-​home. *Finally I’m feeling very happy inside* :)
Abe (the owner) welcomed me and we got started. My hair was a disaster, but he had no fear in his eyes. After a relaxing wash and head massage, cut and style, my hair was more than perfect. It had been months since I liked my hair and I finally felt as if I was myself again!
Abe is so easy to talk to and knew exactly what I needed and wanted without me having the words to say it. THANK YOU to Abe for bringing me back to life again. You helped bring the hotness back out! :D

This salon is on the second floor in the same building as Baby Emporium. My go to guy is Brad. He is such an easy person to talk to and he listens to what you want. I am so happy to recommend him to anyone looking for a great cut or an awesome ombré. My hair is always in great shape with him. Go see him. You won’t regret it.

When I told my go-​to hairstylist Mahina that I wanted to dye my hair brown, she was shocked cause I have been dyeing it red for so long…
Fortunately she was down to take on the project.
The first dye she did was a rich brown color but not enough to take out all the red. The second time she dyed it she used a darker brown, almost black to pull the red. At first I was uneasy on how dark it was but she reassured me that I would like it and it would lighten up. Remember now, she’s reversing 6 years of artificial redhead-​ness.
After she washed my hair and gave me her amazing neck/​head massage (I swear I fall asleep every time!) she dried and curled my hair.
I was more than happy with my transformation and stoked that she had gotten all the red out. I felt like Carrie of Sex & The City when she dyed her hair brown.
She charged me a great price, which made the experience even better.
Thanks Mahina for always supporting me and my spontaneous hair decisions!

Great haircut and partial color from Sarah. My first short haircut of my 32 years on this planet and she did not disappoint. I don’t have a lot of hair on my head and I am low maintenance so she gave me the right do for my lifestyle
I had to wait 30 min for my appointment to start without being greeted nor given a heads up as to how long I may be waiting or they would have gotten a perfect score.

In an effort to grow out his hair, my BF kind of looked like… a chia pet. *sigh*
So when we both got sick of the ‘fro, we asked the extremely talented Cindy to work her magic. (On both of us! I used a Groupon for a haircut + extra treatment. What a steal!)
— When I say, «Cindy, you’re the best stylist ever!» I also mean, «Omg THANK YOU. My boyfriend finally looks like my boyfriend again. Except with better hair this time!» BF’s hair was awesome. She helped him find a style that would work with his hairtype. She cut it super cleanly and evenly too – he usually goes home to even it out after cuts but didn’t have to after Cindy was done.
— My haircut was… perhaps even more awesome then BFs! I was in dire need of a trim but I really love my length. Cindy made sure I was okay with whatever she cut off and gave my hair more movement with face framing layers. She even showed me how to properly curl my hair.
So yep – we both walked out 100% more stylish than we walked in. I would definitely come back to Cindy – she’s awesome at what she does and she’s so sweet!
Also, other nice things about Nueve Salon:
— Parking is free! Just don’t park in marked stalls (that say Lee)
— They’ve got a really nice waiting area
— Their wash room is super relaxing. My neck was comfortable the entire time.

This review is for the spa. I had bought a Living Social deal for a facial from Kristin and went to see her last Thursday evening. Kristin’s facial included ALL the things that I love best. Head massage! Neck massage! Treating the décolletage area. Massage and moisturizing the arms and hands.
When I left, I was very relaxed and just felt that a weight had been lifted from my shoulders… the traffic jam on Ala Moana Blvd. when trying to get home didn’t even take the buzz off.
Seriously…if you want the best facial of your life… go see Kristin at Nueve!
