Came here for breakfast it was very busy! I had the burrito with Portuguese sausage, cheese and egg with the home style potatoes. It was very good! My husband had the coconut pancake meal. He loved it! The only complaint was that they were slow with the check but other than that they were on it when it came to coffee refill.

I tried the 2-pancake breakfast special(~$ 5). Comes with eggs… I stupidly ordered scrambled eggs(fake ones), old/tough bacon and über-cakey pancakes(I prefer crispy/swedish). 2 stars rather than 1 star bc the coffee was ok. There is a wonderful place on Kalakaua beside 24 hour fitness with a better breakfast special w hash browns toast, etc.(Green building open to the ocean breeze)…

Good sized plates and the food was okay(coconut pancakes), but it smelled like a dirty bathroom. I had to suck it up because I went with a group of people, however, I made sure we did not go back. The carpet needs to be ripped out and the building needs to be sanitized and disinfected!

First thing that got us in the door and I have to say«you get what you pay for… And suggested tip» Was the breakfast special for $ 4.95 When we walked in we were sat down and our waiter(older Asian man didn’t see name or id call him out) asked what we wanted to eat, my pregnant wife had a few questions to which he just pointed as his answer to the menu and walked away. Food was not brought out by him, coffee was ever refilled by him or check was never brought by him, all different staff members or runners. Now as for the food the pancakes were super tasty but the eggs COLD and RUNNY, Bacon small and salty, coffee warm and interesting after taste. Again get what you pay for. The reason I’m giving only 2 starts was that they have the Fn nerve to suggest a tip on the bill. This guy did nothing for us, was rude and never really waited on us. I’d rather pay more money for friendly Hawaiian service with a smile. Won’t go back here ever again.

Seaside Bar & Grill is one of our favorites to eat for breakfast. The portion is huge for the price. I wish I remembered the name of the special, but it came with a waffle, eggs, sausage links and spam. So Ono. Tonight we came here for dinner. The dinner specials are a good price too. I ordered the salmon and New York steak for $ 16.95. All dinner specials come with potatoes, corn on the cob, and a small dinner salad. Although the steak was a little dry, the salmon was delicious. There’s also all night tropical drink specials for $ 5(Mai Tai, Blue Hawaii and Hawaiian Sunrise). Would definitely recommend this place for breakfast though.

Easy to find but the steak was okay for the price. A little dry for my taste and place need a remodeling to get more people to come in and enjoy when their eating. Also when we were their they were playing country music. Lol

Breakfast on a budget, and it ain’t bad, it ain’t amazing but hey if all you want are some decent eggs, sausage and pancakes this place offers some great bargains in the pricey Waikiki jungle. Walked bf to work one morning and we always pass this restaurant and laugh(as well as wonder) at the posters. Hungry and feeling adventurous, in we went. I thought the décor was amusing, I guess because from the dingy outside(neighbors: strip club and gay bar) with cheap meal specials plastered in the windows I wasn’t expecting a seaside escape. There was a kiddy looking mural of the Waikiki shore line in the back section. Now the food, really not bad. Not the greatest but I’ve had worse for the same price. If I were vacationing for a few days id save some money and eat here everyday, maybe have a nice breakfast(eggs Benedict, stuffed French toast etc) only a couple of those days. Staff was friendly, expected pushy Chinese but I actually saw lots of smiles. They do get tacky with the bill auto grating parties 4 or more and writing the actual«suggested 15%» amount on the check but there was only 2 of us so I didn’t seem to mind(even not being a tourist). Tip: if you like ice water, ask for your water with ice, I like my bacon chewy but even for me it was pretty greasy so maybe ordering crispy might be better

If you like a homestyle cooking to your food. Come here. It is really tasty. Not a 5 star location but the food is really good. Great drink prices. A little off of the path from the hustle and bustle but great food and people.

This place is pricey for the quality(for breakfast), but the coconut pancakes were good! Just know that sometimes the lines can be long in the mornings on the weekends, but you get seated pretty quickly. Unfortunately you feel a little rushed to eat and go, so that others can sit. And the place is a bit of a tight squeeze. But the staff were nice and my coffee was never empty!

I am going for the gusto here. We are eating breakfast on a Saturday morning. It is not crowded but it should be. Eating Traditional breakfast with Portuguese sausage rice and eggs. Coffee was quickly served as we sat. Guest is having coconut delight. Yummy. Our meals are huge. Can’t imagine if we ordered the«Serious» breakfast menu page. It was worth the half mile walk. Don’t pour all of the coconut syrup on your pancakes — so rich — moderation till you adjust. We only used about half. After about half hour it is getting full. The tourist have awakened. Service is so fast. With juice coffee and tip, out the door for under $ 31

Great portions and low prices. They don’t have many places to create room for a big group of just 6 so we had to split up. Still food was great and customer service. Get coconut syrup their. It’s the best

The only reason I am giving it 5 stars is because the loco Moco and the pineapple pancakes were amazing. Can’t hate because the food made up for the lack of service. PS dont ask for more tip Mr server. I would have left more but because you asked for more I gave less. Tip depends on service not the cost of my total bill.

You get what you pay for but in a good way. While vacationing in Honolulu for the first time, we discovered this place on our first night. It was close to our hotel — Outrigger Waikiki Beach. We had their dinner special($ 14.95) while my son had calamari as his meal. My wife & I had the coconut shrimp while my daughter had some crab artichoke dip. The coconut shrimp was good and came with some flavor potatoes & garlic bread. My daughter liked the crab artichoke dip. The calamari is what I wouldn’t recommend. I tasted it and it seemed overcooked. I had have better. They also have a breakfast special($ 4.95) which is a great deal. Plus we had a buy one, get one free OJ. The breakfast consisted of 2 pancakes, eggs and 2 strips of bacon. Everything was very good. See pic. The breakfast special may not be a lot for someone who eats a lot but was perfect for me and my family. I was full. People complain here about different things. If you are on a budget(not all of us are weathly), eat here. The breakfast special is an excellent deal. Your hotel would charge probably triple for what you pay. Don’t expect food to be top tier as it probably is not. The coconut shrimp dinner special was good. I know they sell steak there but don’t expect filet mignon. I would eat here again.

Something of a disappointment; call it two and a half stars. We were steered to Seaside by a coupon in one of the many Waikiki tourist guides – free shrimp cocktail and garlic bread, with a good price on drinks. Also, the two-items-for-$ 13.95 dinner special looked like a good deal. We arrived at the beginning of their happy hour, and were seated promptly in the dark, rather haphazardly decorated room. Happy hour drinks(Blue Hawaii, Mai Tai, Hawaiian Sunset) were good, fairly large, and a good buy at $ 5.95. I had the coconut shrimp and New York strip steak combination; my wife, the steak and salmon. Just four shrimp, though in a good batter and sauce. The steak was fair-sized and cooked as requested(medium rare) but with some stringy bits. The memsahib described the salmon as pretty good. Served with a big pile of roast potatoes. As for the free items, the garlic bread consisted of exactly two slices of French bread smeared with a little butter or oleo. The shrimp cocktail never showed up. The two unisex restrooms were smelly and stark. We might be back for happy hour cocktails on a future visit to Honolulu, but would probably give the food a pass.

Very sub par breakfast experience. This place was close to our hotel and of course I’m trying to stay on budget for a week long trip in Waikiki. There is a sign hanging up in the window for 2 pancakes, 2 eggs and 2 bacon for $ 4.95. Seems like a decent price(especially in expensive Oahu), so we went in to check it out. Well, I wish we didn’t because I saw this«breakfast special» on other people’s tables and it didn’t look too good. The whole dish was rather small, almost comparable to the size of a pancake dish you get from McDonald’s. I came hungry, so I decided to try something different, the Breakfast Burrito with bacon. This«burrito» was not a burrito, but a quesadilla. A burrito is fully wrapped, and this was not. The flavor was bland, nothing special at all. My wife got bacon, eggs and toast and her bacon was significantly burnt, like black burnt. How can a cook or even a waitress serve up black bacon and think«damn, that looks really delicious!» The service was ok. The best thing about the whole meal was the good coffee, but that was $ 2.50! Can’t recommend this place… sorry. Cheers!

I looked on Unilocal for a good place to have breakfast during our trip and saw decent reviews for this place and noticed they had breakfast specials so we decided to try it. When we arrived, I noticed that this place was a tiny, single room no frills restaurant that had a number of breakfast and dinner specials. However, since we had a long day ahead of us we ordered off the regular menu because we needed a hearty breakfast and the breakfast platters sounded huge. I ordered«The Big Kahuna» I think it was called… came with 2 eggs, 2 bacon, 2 sausage, 2 Portuguese sausage, home fries, pancakes and toast. The eggs I got scrambled and they were ok… I’ve had better. The meats were all pretty good, and the bacon was exactly how I like it — crispy but not too well done. The pancakes were the same as anywhere else, just normal pancakes and syrup. I was a little sad that they didn’t have different flavors of syrup like I had read about in some previous reviews. The home fries were too chunky and some were overcooked. They were not seasoned at all so I had to put some salt and pepper on it, which made it a little better but still not very good. I was too full to eat the toast, so I have no idea how it tastes. Looked nice and golden brown though and came with strawberry jam on the side. Overall this is a decent place to have breakfast at a decent price. The platter I got was $ 10.95 and was a ton of food, so this is a good place to fill up cheap for the most important meal of the day! If that’s too pricey for you, they also have some smaller breakfast plates for $ 4.95 and $ 7.95 on the specials page.

Seaside bar and grill is a confusing place. First off, it is not«seaside». It is located on kuhio avenue, next to the gay bars/adult video stores and across the street from Starbucks. Second, seaside specializes in AMERICAN food. Hence, it draws in a lot of American tourists(when I went, the place was packed, and every single person was a tourist). Please don’t go here expecting local food. Third, it is a Chinese run restaurant. The waiters and waitresses are all Chinese, so it runs like a Chinese restaurant except there is no Chinese food. If you’re expecting impeccable service, look elsewhere. I also thought it was funny that they greet you by saying, «aloha!!» And then they say, «mahalo!!» When you leave. Then they commence talking/yelling at each other in canto. The food is good and cheap considering you’re in waikiki. It gets pretty crowded in the mornings and we had to wait about 10 mins to get a table on a weekday. They also serve alcohol in the mornings. Just saying lol
