Wow. This is not your traditional little pizza joint. It’s an Italian restaurant with awsome pizza! We started with the bruschetta(awsome), then has a caesar salad and for the main course we had the shrimp scampi(double awsome) and a pizza that was half margarita and half chicken florentine. If I just had margarita pizza I would have been happy but the chicken florentine pizza was double amazing. If you have not been here give it a shot, also ask for the home made lemon cello, it was a nice was to finish the meal.

My foodie fiancé and I came to Houston for some wedding appointments with a couple of my bridesmaids, and after a full day of running around decided that we needed some good Italian food! We looked through our Unilocal choices and decided to come here(mostly for the fact that they had house made gnocchi.) Arrived to a quant, wonderfully smelling restaurant and very friendly staff. We didn’t want to disturb other parties with what we knew would be a rambunctious dinner so we requested the most secluded table. Our waitress cleared a «reserved» sign off the back table and made us feel right at home. They had a great wine and beer selection and our waitress was more than helpful with her suggestions as to help us decide. We started with the bruschetta which was topped with fresh basil and great chunks of freshly shaved parmesan. Next, with help from our waitress, we ordered two portions of gnocchi, lasagna, and manicotti. BOY did we ever get what we came for. Melt in your mouth fresh gnocchi that would make your Italian grandmother shed a tear. The lasagna was also made in house, layered with fresh ricotta cheese and meat. I did not personally try the manicotti, but my girlfriend assured me it was delicious! Definitely a win in our book. We will absolutely be coming back here anytime we are in Houston! If you’re looking for classic, house-made ITALIAN dishes, look no further! This place was all around amazing!

We had a wonderful dinner at Achilles Italian restaurant and the beautiful sweet staff made our evening so memorable. We ordered a pizza, osobucco and eggplant parmigiana with Caesar salad, garlic bread and wine. Each item was deliciously prepared and served. We met the owner Diana while there who was so kind and truly cared about making our evening enjoyable. I look forward to dining at Achilles again soon and bringing our friends.

Great Italian! I’ve recommended to all my friends. Bread and pizza are made fresh. Pasta’s are great. Seafood, chicken and meat dishes are all superb! Excellent selection of Wines and Beers. Live Music on Saturday.

My husband and I went to dinner last night for the first time in about a year we had a wonderful evening. We were surprised by live music which can make or break the meal. Music was great.(Although they could’ve avoided some of the negative comments about marriage.) We both just wanted a great plate of spaghetti and meat sauce and boy did we get it. The sauce was delicious. the pasta was cooked perfectly. I was even even able to get a gluten-free option. We met the owners Diana and Greg. They appeared to be very focused on making sure the experience was great and it was. The restaurant was packed but service was still very good. We will be going there again soon.

Visited on a Tuesday night recently with two friends. We shared the bruschetta and caprese salad to start, both were good. The garlic bread that came was also pretty good. I ordered the entrée lasagne and it was kinda terrible… came cold to start with and was evident they just gave it a blast in the microwave. Clearly pre-made. Incredibly sloppy and not much meat to speak of. Disappointing. Service was okay as was the wine. I’d go back if I had to but wouldn’t be a first choice.

Delicious food! Only give 3 stars because service is slow and prices are high. Overall I would recommend though.

Amazing. Yep, that about sums it up. What we had: Fresh mussels in a white wine sauce. Caesar salad. Chicken marshland scallopini with ziti. Chicken parm with angel hair pasta. It was delicious. Service, even on the patio, was fantastic. The chef, we found out was actually their sous chef(the main guy was on vacation)… this kid gets some serious credit.

Pizza is VERY good. Pasta plates are marginal at best. Service from the Kirchner is slow, slow.

I discovered Achille by accident one day when I was studying across the parking lot at Beans and wandered over. I was pleasantly surprised at not only the quality of the food, but the atmosphere and the beautiful remodeling job. Diane and Greg have done a nice job with the place. Good service, good food, and nice, clean restaurant.

This is a GREAT choice for an inexpensive nice Italian meal! The new owners have done a great job with the remodel. The wine list is awesome for a small place like this The service is great and the food is VERY good for the price. I was pleasantly surprised the last couple of times I tried different things!

Mmm! Delicious, hot, fresh, authentic Italian food. They serve the best pizza I’ve had in Houston! Fast service, friendly staff, and friendly atmosphere. Our salads were completely fresh and included a big slice of cucumber and tomato each. The garlic bread was divine. You can definitely tell it is homemade. Hubby and I shared their homemade lasagna and a 12 inch Paesano pizza. We spent only $ 30, and are completely satisfied with every aspect of our meal. Achille’s will not disappoint. This place is truly a hidden gem :).

I grew up with ACHILLE’S on memorial. My family always loved it. And my husband is now also a huge fan. They have the best pizza. I won’t bother ordering it anywhere else.(Hint: ask them to par-bake it. You can bring it home and heat hours later or next day and it tastes like it is fresh!). And they actually serve great veal dishes too. The staff is extremely friendly and the value is good, too. Don’t expect white table cloths and fancy wine menus. These guys focus in the food! The only drawback is no delivery. But, honestly, their food is worth running out for! We are so glad ACHILLE’S is back!

Can I give 2 ½ stars? BYOB — that’s a plus! The place is a very laid-back pizza place, not really first date material if you know what I mean… but it’s clean! The lady at the register is very pleasant and they made us a veggie Stromboli, so bonus points there. We also ordered a ridiculous little salad, but it was covered in yummy blue cheese dressing. Our girls got pepperoni pizza. The Stromboli was scrawny in size was just OK to me. The pizza was great however. If I ever go back it will be for carry-out pizza!

The location of this place is small and simple. The service is friendly and the food is moderate. I’ve tried a variety of things from this place but nothing out of the ordinary. I enjoyed the Fettuccini Alfredo, Meatball Parmigiana sub and the Grilled Chicken Caesar salad. The dishes taste well but are a bit too salty. My friends and I also enjoy the Tiramisu here!
