Blue Ribbon Roofing

I am a gardener with tons of plants around my house. Blue Ribbon did an excellent job protecting my plants and decks with boards and tarps. Highly recommend!

BUYER BEWARE!
After seeing the roof’s of my neighbors, I decided to add Blue Ribbon Roofing to my list of companies to vet for a new installation. Eric came out and presented a brochure with every detail of what they claim they install on your home, and spent a couple of hours going through the Certainteed product brochure, and presenting numerous certifications claiming they are the best roofing company in Houston. Eric promised he would cover my Travertine patio, and take special care not to damage it.
Before noon of the tear off, there were 6 tiles damaged by his crew (irreparable), and Soffit and Facia over the patio was damaged.
That was only the beginning! Eric had promised to be on the job to supervise his crew. After several calls to Eric, he finally showed up to see the damaged patio, and still took no action to cover it. He even raised doubt that his crew did the damage (was I sure it was not like that already?) he said! Before I signed the contract, Eric and I walked my patio and I informed him I had just power washed it, and he commented on how beautiful it was, and assured me, he would personally take care of it. Funny he didn’t point out any preexisting damage before they began work!
Eric sent a 2 man crew to replace the damaged facia, and soffit that day, but the repair was subpar to say the least. The paint doesn’t match, and it looks as if a child cut the hardi boards.
The crew finished the roof the next day, and I paid the agreed upon amount (over $ 7,800.00), with the balance due when all other work was completed. The next day I was in the back yard, and looked up in disbelief to see what a horrible job was performed on the ridge cap shingles.
I decided to contact the owner and have him come out and see what an unprofessional job was being done on my home. Steve (the owner) came out with Eric, and one of their crew leaders, the following week.
Upon their arrival, Steve was on the patio with Eric, and Steve never even acknowledged my presence. It was immediately obvious that he was not there to make me happy. In the first ten minutes, it was nothing but denial, and excuses. When I pointed out the ridge caps, Steve remarked «Oh yeah, I see about four shingles that are not cut well».
After much discussion, and me pointing out all the defects in the job (twenty two items), and thats from the ground looking up. Steve finally agreed to replace all the ridge caps on the garage, and sitting room, and the other 22 items. When I asked him to install the precut ridge caps that were supposed to be installed on my home, he refused to do it and also stated that the precut Certainteed ridge caps were too thick, and he personally thought they Suck! Then he said «Check your contract, it shows three tab shingles» not precut! I had no idea what three tabs meant compared to precut, but I was shown a perfect roof (brochure)with Certainteed Roofing System, and there were no designations as to the name of the ridge caps.
Unfortunately, this has turned into a legal matter that could have been prevented if the owner had the integrity that was claimed in all of his printed material, and his verbal claims. I refuse to be deceived, and not receive what was promised in the sales pitch.
You be the judge! The pictures tell the entire story.
It is a shame the consumer is going to have to video transactions for proof of what takes place at the Sales Presentation.

Great job. The follow-​up was incredible. They made sure I was satisfied with all aspects of the job. Eric and Martin were the employees that worked on the site. They were very helpful and polite. Definitely would use them again.

I will start with saying that I did not use this service. We needed to get a roof estimate to potentially replace our roof. We are in the process of selling our home and thought that it might be worth looking at. When I called the company, he said well we do not get involved in real estate transactions because I do not make any money off these. Well, too bad for him because he would’ve probably made close $ 10,000 because we will be replacing our roof with another company.

Highly recommend Blue Ribbon Roofing for service and quality. These guys went above and beyond to ensure ALL was satisfactory and then some. Great follow-​up and job was completed in a timely and professional manner. Call Steve or Jon if you have need of a new roof or repairs!
