Make sure you ask for Mel! Best bartender! Amazing food, and the décor is defiantly nothing you’ve seen before. Lots of TV’s and poles, & don’t forget the animal heads lol. One thing that does bother me is the change from day staff to night time staff. It seems that the night staff does not care about the comfort or regulars that are already established from the day. Instead they start cussing and rudely blasting inappropriate tv shows, talking loudly about personal problems, and just bothering customers with their ignorance.

OMG!!! I read a few of the previous comments and then I stopped. I had to go there! I could not make a better choice. I was there on a Tuesday night and wow. A live band with owe some music, bar packed place packed with 80% local girls celebrating birthdays or something. I started with a marvelous juicy ny strip cooked to perfection and by the end of the night I was a white boy dancing with the neighboring group. They insisted to learn the white boy to dance!!! Great band, great dj. He was very polite in case you dbl parked my group start to sing They do not care, we do not care, tow the MF truck!!! Great ambiance. Sad that I had to leave!!!

Clayton’s was not at all what I expected. It was very loud and dark and super packed. I was the only white girl there, but I didn’t feel out of place. There was a cover at the door, which I didn’t expect, and while the music was good, people were only dancing to line dance music. I got a drink from the bar and then I found a table and ordered food. The drink was good, the service was good and the food was actually really good. I had the Frito Pie which the waitress recommended, and it was the best I’ve ever had. I’d go back for a group party, but it’s not really a date place since it’s so loud. One other note… the dance floor is in the back and is elevated. No one was dancing, except on the dance floor, complete with stripper poles.

One of my fave spots. They have a variety of things on the menu which are delisious!!! You must try the ribeye sandwich & the mushrooms that are a side dish. The bartenders & waitresses are awesome!!! Really good drink specials daily & happy hour runs until 9. The DJ’s are good too. You’ll hear anything from the 70“s up to now. They have live zydeco w/J. Paul on Tues, kareoke on Thurs, & a live neo-soul/r&b band on Sun which kills it every time. Sometimes they do open mic. There was a chic that got up there & blew it outta the water! She was awesome! The band also does some really cool versions of classic rock songs you wouldn’t expect. The crowd here is very mixed, but most importantly it’s a mature crowd. On avg. it’s about 25& up. There’s anywhere from lawyers, ranchers, mechinist, to O&G big wigs mixed in this place but they all have one thing in common: just want to go have a few drinks, chat w/friends & relax. Yes it’s in the Greenspoint area, but it’s no worse than almost anywhere else in Houston. You can get jacked any time, any place… day or night.

Only one bartender therefore service was slow. Drinks were weak. Was there Fri 5⁄31 night. This place was not packed at all. Only about 3 – 5 people on the dance floor. We ordered food which took forever to come out. Needless to say we drove 40 mins away to come check out this place & was not impressed.

Nice little spot. The drinks were strong but that could be a good thing if that’s what you like. The Dj played decent music most of the time but there were times where he missed the mark. If you see someone not dancing to a particular song, you would think that he would play another. Even when it was requested to play a line dance song, the Dj refused because he said it was already played«BEFORE» we got there. Other than issues with the Dj this place is pretty decent with no cover. If I am ever in that part of town, I may go again.

If your classy and want to party in a upscale environment. This is a no go, especially on a Friday night. Plus the night I went, I couldn’t get my drink because two female bartenders were bickering and left their post. Wooow!

Ok, so… Let me preface; I am white. Further, I am white, and from the suburbs white. Not one bit of ‘Hood in me. And I’m from out of town. And thus start my friends foray into Clayton’s. How did I end up here, you might ask? Well, we asked our hotel guy where a good steak house was. And thus, Clayton’s was recommended. I think he failed to observe our appearance. Upon arrival at Clayton’s was a sign, and a large one at that, that reads something like«Park here, and your chance of a carjacking, or break in raises 150%». Tell me more! Raised eyebrows around the group, but we weren’t deterred. Fearlessly we opened the door into the restaurant, and it was like something out of a movie where the music screeches to a halt, and every head turns in the joint. AWK-WARD!!! Through the awkwardness, we found a table and took our places. The food was marginal, the service terrible, but the experience memorable. I could get into all of that, but that, to me, was the least important aspect of the night. The highlight was standing out front, waiting for the cab to pick us up. We were standing in a group, talking and laughing when someone made a comment, which resulted in a long loud, «Heeeeeeyyyyyyyyyy!!!» from me. As I did so, a rather«thick» big breasted woman walked by, and, thinking I was talking to her, complete with cigarette hanging from her mouth, puckered her lips, and blew a kiss at me, while winking. You know those moments where inside jokes are born? Wellllll… This was one of them. Great experience, marginal food and service.

So we came here after a nice dinner, not quite wanting the night to end. It’s a nice little place, where everyone seemed local. There were a few people dancing, but the floor was never packed. The DJ wasn’t bad; at around midnight he started playing some hip hop. Their fried mushrooms were really good and they give you a very generous portion. I ate almost the whole plate by myself, but it’s more than enough for 2 or 3 people to share. It was Salsa Night and their were a handful of guys in there with muscle shirts on, that had apparently forgotten their muscles at home. The drinks weren’t bad, but the margarita tasted off; like they weren’t using the regular mix. But the bartender was a cool guy and attentive that the drinks were kept aplenty. If you drop in you should have him make you a Gingerbread Man shot. Yummy!

I used to work here. There are many regulars here. This place has it’s nights. There are many different events. Zydeco on Tuesdays and lingerie girls on wednesday. Live band on thursdays and sundays. There is a DJ after nine on everyday except monday. I liked this place alot before I worked here, and I still enjoy the atmoshpere. The food and drinks are good but can also be high priced. I loved the pan fried catfish!!! This is a nice place to go b/c of the crowd. It is mixed all races but mostly 25 and up. It is a nice date spot.

I was introduced to this place by some of my cousins a couple months back. My second visit was this past Sunday, and it’s not a bad time. They have a live band on Sunday’s and pretty decent DJ mixing after. I haven’t ate here myself but everyone says it’s pretty good. The crowd is 30ish. Which is a plus if you want to here some music that not of the Top 10 variety. So what kind I say… I like

Came here with my old coworkers for some after-work drink. Very decent happy hour prices and on this Wednesday, a buffet style Tex Mex snack bar was lined up with all the rice, nachos, enchiladas, and tamales you could eat. The waitresses are super friendly, and apparently this place has been open for 30+ years. I was never waiting for a waitress to order another beer or drink, so that automatically gets the stars from me. Ditto to the strip club atmosphere, however mix that with a kind of homey western feel as there are bookshelves, wierd plants, and various taxidermied animals hovering on the walls. The happy hour crowd here consists mostly of the people that work around this area. What added to the strip club vibe was 2 girls walking around in their bikinis selling raffle tickets for prizes. Weird and random, but I don’t mind the eye candy: P

Convenient restaurant in the Greenspoint area to go to for lunch. One thing to note is that Clayton’s is known for their ribeye sandwiches so be sure to try that out if you ever come by here. So besides good salads and sandwiches, there’s also huge chairs for you to sit in along with a strip club atmosphere. Dim lighting, bar on the side, huge chairs as if they were meant for lap dances, etc etc. Would I come here if I didn’t work around here? Probably not, then again, I wouldn’t be anywhere near gunspoint to begin with.
