Absolutely delicious food, and I feel so well-cared for walking in and knowing their commitment to simplify the foods going into my body. For example, adding sweetener(honey) to my peach mango smoothie is just an option, not the hidden standard. Will be back weekly this summer!

First time coming here. I was craving something sweet so I took a cannoli and some Italian wedding cookies home. They were delicious! And the couple who I assets owns the place was extremely nice.

Given so many rave reviews, Eatwell has been on my list of places to try for a while. I was looking forward to trying the healthy pancakes, so ordered them along with a coffee. The owners were very friendly and welcoming. However I found the décor drab and in need of updating vs. somewhere I’d want to enjoy a leisurely meal. The pancakes had a nice flavor, but unfortunately think they must be re-heated in the microwave(since I noticed a big tray of them already cooked), which really ruins the texture IMO. The coffee was ok, but nothing special. Based on the kind owners and that it’s locally owned, I would love to give Eatwell 5 stars but just wasn’t thrilled with the food or ambiance.

Tried their Italian cream cake, yogurt, and smoothie drink today… Two thumbs up for the taste and natural quality of ingredients!

I tried this and was surprised at the price for 2 cookies. It was almost $ 5, and while they were good, it seemed over priced. The cookies were like a short bread, and you could taste the butter for sure. The cookies were about 2 inches in diameter — reminded me of Michael’s Cookie Jar.

Tasty and healthy! I came here for breakfast and everything was amazing Oat meal with yogurt 5⁄5: their homemade yogurt is absolutely amazing, tangy and smooth. It isn’t thickened to the point where it stick to the spoon like store bought yogurt. Warm and chewy oatmeal. I asked them to put only a little agave and it was perfect Papaya smoothies 5⁄5: I can tell they didn’t put cream and milk in it. Just yogurt and agave. Fresh papaya too. I grow up in tropical country so I can tell if they use fresh fruit or not. The sweetness comes from the papaya and not sugar! Hummus 5⁄5: love love their hummus. No oily surface like other hummus, fresh and light. Only last for 4 days but the portion is perfect. Service 4⁄5(?): The new cashier messed up my order a bit but that’s because she isn’t used to the cash register. No big deal, the owner is very quick to solve the problem. Friendly service. Will come back for sure

Fresh food, great service and a friendly host can go a long way in making your dining experience enjoyable! And this place has all the above. But all this can’t make up for the taste and quality of food. And that’s where this place left a lot to be desired. It may have been a off day, so I will definitely visit them someday and revisit the ratings. For now, I feel it has a lot of scope for improvement in terms of quality and taste!

I would say this place is average. They sell a lot of fresh products such as homemade yogurt. I forgot what my plate was called and it was around $ 6 – 7 ish. It was scrambled eggs and bread with some sort of honey dip. They give you a side order of complimentary bread too.

Solid 5 stars for baked items and customer service. I got the mini cannolis which were excellent. The wedding cookies were also excellent. I got the tiramisu, which is real tiramisu so be warned. It is very coffee tasting and not like the creamy overly sweet desserts that you get at other non Italian restaurants. Because of the authenticity and how strong the coffee taste was, I had a little bit of a hard time starting it off. But it was really good at the end. Solid one star for the lasagna. Maybe some of their other entrees or sandwiches are good but the lasagna, unfortunately, was awful. It came in one of those black round plastic containers, and when I opened it, all you could see was a bowl of red tomato sauce. After draining off all the extra sauce in the bowl, I proceeded to try to get to the lasagna. It was very average and extremely acidic, probably due to the tomato sauce that it was drowning in. Everything was just quite average and the whole meal was a waste of money. But they have some very interesting looking sandwiches, and the baked items are amazing, so I’ll probably definitely go back and try a sandwich or something else, other than lasagna. I also want to mention that the customer service is great. You can tell it’s family owned, they came out several times to make sure I was okay, and the girl at the counter, even though she doesn’t speak a lot of English, was very friendly and very helpful.

Staffs are very courteous and friendly. I ordered a cappuccino and a slice of coffee cake. The cappuccino was somehow a bit watery with tap water taste. It was not terrible but definitely you can find better cappuccino at many other coffee shops in Houston. The coffee cake was a real disappointment. It was probably old and really dry. I could not finish it. I also had a bite of a cannoli my wife had. They fill fresh cream into it as you order, which surely looked appealing but the cream itself was not great with some artificial taste.

This café is a gem hidden among the hustle and bustle of Westheimer. While from the outside(and the inside) it may not look like much, they make all their food with very quality ingredients and pledge to not use any of the yucky stuff like high fructose corn syrup and added preservatives… The boyfriend and I visited for brunch and got an array of foods from the frittata(yummy and a great value), a breakfast sausage calzone(I really enjoyed) and of course the french toast! The french toast is as authentic and un-American as it gets and it couldn’t get any better. The owner came over to our table and explained how the bread is made with only three ingredients, and is soaked for some crazy amount of time which makes it as yummy and gooey and delicious as ever. Warning though — this isn’t your American battered in eggs french toast — it is authentic! The honey and syrup on the plate were delicious as well. Also — PROPS to this place for putting fresh fruit on the plate — it is so refreshing to get fresh fruit without paying extra for a side of it. I also bought a lasagna to take for lunch at work… and oh man it was fantastic lasagna. It lasted me two days and the sauce and the sausage were so stinkin good. I will definitely be back to buy lasagna for my lunches in the future! And, before I forget — I got a canoli to take with as well!(I know, oink oink) They literally made the filling to order and stuffed the canoli in front of my eyes. It was delicious and authentic. Upon leaving I questioned how this place could keep their doors open — only a handful of people were in and out during the 1.5 hours I was there. Then I realized a lot of it has to do with the service — the owner(or I assume he was the owner) spent at least 15 minutes chatting with us about the authentic ways they prepare their food, told funny stories, and made us feel at home. There is definitely a «small town vibe» about this café and I really, really like it.

«Beauty in simplicity» describes Eatwell perfectly in a nutshell. I was introduced to this quaint Westchase neighborhood café/bakery all thanks to Unilocaler Lou C. I am so happy I finally got a chance to visit Eatwell and see why everyone has been amazed. Everything here is made with lots of love from local, natural ingredients without any preservatives. The owner is very welcoming and friendly, and loves making great conversation with patrons. You can definitely tell that he takes pride in the bakery and everything that he does. The peach cake was average and the slightly moist texture reminded me of a tres leches cake. The peach flavor was subtle with hints of cinnamon and the cake wasn’t too sweet. The cake paired well with a small cup of Turkish coffee. The Turkish coffee was the perfect afternoon pick-me-up and it’s rather interesting watching the owner prepare the coffee. It’s a method not to be rushed since you have to wait for the coffee grounds to settle before serving. Turkish coffee is to be appreciated– aroma, taste, and preparation. Take time to sip on the strong, Turkish coffee and you will taste the cardamom flavors emerging from the potently delicious espresso. If I wasn’t awake earlier, I surely was wide awake for the rest of the day! The chocolate drizzled cannoli was one of the best I’ve ever had– the fresh whipped, creamy filling wasn’t overly sweet and literally melted in my mouth. The cannoli itself had a nice crunch, along with the right amount of sweetness from the chocolate drizzle and filling. I got the homemade yogurt to-go and ate it with a drizzle of honey and fresh fruits the next morning. This hit the spot with the sweetness of the fruit and honey paired with the yogurt’s tart and tangy flavor. I also got the mixed fruit thumbprint cookies as gifts, which were a hit with my friends. Everything I indulged in here on my visit was good and I look forward to my next visit to try some of the breakfast items, smoothies/juices, lasagna and Italian cream cake! Eatwell is a nice spot to relax or catch up with friends. Whether you are stopping by for some snacks or dining in, the owner extends his hospitality to everyone. Go to Eatwell and you’ll be sure to leave very happy!

I hate to rain on the 5 star parade but here goes… First let me start the review by saying the owner was very kind and accommodating but very opinionated. He offered samples and engaged in conversation. He seems to have a strong problem with organic foods, deeming nothing is organic. Anyways we wanted to try a few of his treats. I was excited to try the Italian Crème and carrot cake. My pet peeve and BIGGEST issue… I hate when fresh cake is served COLD. It ruins the frosting, texture, flavor and makes it very hard. Cake should be moist and soft. My second pet peeve is he left all the cakes in the cooler uncovered. Uggggg you have to cover your cakes people or not only will it taste funny, it will be hard as a ROCK. None of his cakes were covered and when he asked why I wasn’t eating it, I told him. Then he began to cover it and said oh it’s usually covered. Too late. My hubby wanted to try the mango cake but it was out of season so he opted for peach cake which he said was good. We had a few other sampling of sides, cookies and bread none of which were good. Specifically the wedding cookies, they were terrible. The cookies were very dry, lackluster flavor and nonexistent nuts. All wedding cookies should have chunks of pecans or walnuts… again ugggg. My motto is if you’re going to make something make it right and it just fell short on taste and freshness for me. I would go back and try the breakfast(maybe it’s good) but there is just an odd vibe here. Something didn’t feel right and I couldn’t put my finger on it.

I was intrigued by the concept and the seemingly reasonable prices, but the food didn’t live up to the hype. I ordered the falafel platter which literally had three falafels, some salad, and some hummus and a common bowl of pita bread and chips was brought to the table. I suppose when you order a sandwich there’s not that much falafel either, but just to see three small falafels as an entrée was a little unsatisfying. One of my friend ordered one of the sandwiches which was a bad choice because it was like a 3 inch sandwich which was a little expensive for the size, and it came either came with pita chips or «fresh fruit». My friend assumed fresh fruit meant a fruit cup, but it literally was an unwashed apple. She also specifically asked for no mushrooms and her sandwich ended up with mushrooms. The owner is very friendly and likes talking a lot so not sure if he forgot to note that she didn’t want mushrooms because of that. Additionally the staff forgot to bring her the coffee she ordered. My other friend other the spinach lasagna because the owner recommended it to her. She liked it, but the bite I tried wasn’t amazing, it was just okay. I think if I were to come back again, I would perhaps try the desserts, otherwise, I was not impressed by the entrees. I do appreciate the effort of making a restaurant that’s more conscious of the ingredients they use, but I think they could have added more spices to things to make it taste better.

This is a super cute establishment with an owner who is incredibly friendly, and definitely enjoys a conversation. The place was empty when we arrived, so we spent about 5 minutes listening to him distinguish between his completely homemade food and the mess bought in stores. He claims the only not homemade items are the assorted Pepsi products. Very entertaining. I ordered the falafel and hummus combo plate($ 7.75 for baked falafel, on a Mediterranean salad served with pita and hummus). Mum went with the roast beef sandwich served on a baguette($ 7.75). The food was only okay overall. The falafel seemed kind of old, and was a little tough to chew. Hummus was yummy though, but pita bread might have been old as well. Mum’s roast beef sandwich was served in stale bread, and when she decided to only eat the roast beef, there was some slight discoloration. I would say the quality of food was not worth the price. I am all for supporting local businesses, but I still have high expectations.

I love this place… decided one day to stop by and try it out and it was really worth every penny I spent. I have never had just a sandwich with just lettuce, tomatoes, cheese and avocado taste so good without adding the meat! I’m so glad I ran across this small but cute café during my lunch. The owner is very friendly and you can tell he takes pride in what he makes. When I mentioned that I had never been there before he continued to indicate that there was no need for advertising this little gem and I can see why. Word of mouth has spread through Unilocal and because of it he has been successful. My sandwich was so delicious but what impressed me the most was that not only was the food on point but so was the fruit that I had to go on the side. So fresh and sweet. Left me wondering. where does he get his produce. :) ha… It’s a small café but big enough to go for group lunches. It’s a little hidden if your not looking for it. I will be going back to try their many choices and especially those amazing chocolate chip cookies. Great lunch spot!

I’m am SHOCKED by the high ratings of this place!!! If the food these high rating people ate was like mine, I’d probably vomit at what they consider 2 stars. And it’s only getting two since the cake was so good! I really wanted to love this place, but it fell a way short for me. It was like they were trying to do Italian/Greek fusion or something. I loved the all-natural environment they are creating, but dude — it still has to taste good. We ordered some sandwiches to go: Tuscany chicken sandwich, Falafel sandwich, and Meatball sandwich. The falafel sandwich was the oddest tasting thing I’ve eaten in a while and full of cinnamon(WTH???), the meatballs were very firm and really dry(tasted like they had lamb in them), and the chicken was super dry as well. My boyfriend said it was the worst meatball sub he’s ever eaten. I had to promise to not to get him anything from there again. The place was clean and the staff was very friendly, but certainly won’t make up for the bad food. Maybe they should just stick to baking … the carrot cake was pretty dang tasty!
