El Pacifico

For a Mexican restaurant, I was very impressed by their selections in sushi. Hands down, one a fine choice if you’re feeling sushi and Mexican food at the same time. They also have a full bar and an extensive list of drinks they could make. I had a Mojito and my friend behind the bar did me good. I tried three pieces of sushi, BY MYSELF, and was thoroughly impressed. I will certainly go back to this place again.

I love love love this place! Everything we’ve ever had was excellent! The Unagi is cooked to perfection, the sauteed calamari is tender and super flavorful! The Lychee and Mango Mojito are delicious and they have the best Michelada I’ve ever had!!! This place is a must, you will not be disappointed!!!

This was my first time there. I ordered a three way tostadas and when I saw how small they were and the low quality ingredients they used for the price I was very disappointed. The use fake crabmeat, very small shrimp for the ceviche, and the fish… Not sure what kind they used but was cut in small square slices and I could count the few pieces they put on the tostada. Every tostada had very small portions and did not look appetising. I also ordered an appetizer of fried calamari, they where low grade small calamari that are server with tentacles… which where tasteless with no seasoning and no salt. I would not go there again.

Came here due to a coworker recommending me. Love the food since the first time I tried it. All the food I’ve tried here is awesome. I love there chicken nachos the most. I’m not a big sea food person but I love the 2 piece Telapia plate and this is where i cone if u crave the fish. Simply amazing. Little pricey but worth it.

Honestly the food here is DELICIOUS, I have never had a problem with my orders and the prices are awesome. The ONLY thing I would say to be aware of if it’s your first time trying this place is the customer service. They really suck at attending to people, I go every now and then for lunch with a friend and we have had to develop a routine of grabbing our own menus from the hostess stand, greeting and seating ourselves. Once seated you most likely will not have the same waiter/​waitress throughout your time there and if you are lucky they will check on you once. To make it short and sweet if you plan on making a trip here be prepared to help your waiter do their job. I’ve said it a million times and so have my co workers and friends, «The ONLY thing that keeps me coming back is the food.»

Food is regular, I ordered a parrillada, the beef was overcooked the chicken was OK but definitively they need to improve the seasoning both meats where almost plain in flavor. My wife ordered a shrimp soup, it was better but I think they add artificial flavoring to the soup it was to salty and the flavor was like those seasoning cubes. And my Dad ordered a fried tilapia and he said that it was lacking seasoning. Other than that service was great, the waitress did an excellent job.

El Pacifico. This is a Japanese/​Latin fusion restaurant located in a very hispanic/​asian part of town so as far as the location, it’s brilliant. Its attached to other stores and restaurants so it’s not the easiest place to spot. First impression walking in is wow this is a neat hole in the wall restaurant. The atmosphere and the décor isn’t very fancy but definitely different. I got good service from the server and was recommended to try the Chilango roll. The food is spot on with the Chilango rocking snow crab and shrimp, jalapeño, thinly sliced strawberries, covered with fried onions, and drizzled with a spicy mayo like sauce. The result is like a party in your mouth and everyone is dancing to salsa music. That being said my biggest complaint would be the pricing on some of the more expensive plates and how difficult it is to match spending so much in a very modest looking establishment. Even the menu design isn’t very appealing. A great restaurant should not hold back even in the smallest details. Considering this place was designed behind the stylish minds of Miyakos, I had higher expectations but enjoyed my meal nonetheless.

I’ve only been here once and I’m already trying to plan a next trip.
The only bad thing is… it’s super far lol BUT definitely worth the trip guys.
This restaurant/​bar is huge and it still manages to get packed which is pretty impressive on it’s own.
They offer live music and have a DJ with a decent size dance floor.
The food variety seems endless. From sushi to enchiladas this place will not disappoint.

I came here for the first time and overall, I enjoyed my visit. I ordered the New York roll and I shared a little bit of my sister’s Miyako Special. Both rolls were delicious! The New York roll had a small citrus kick to it which I enjoyed. The main attraction in the Miyako special was the spicy tuna which wasn’t too spicy, another plus in my book. The only reason why this review didn’t make it to 5 stars was because the rolls are a little small :(The service was pretty good for a Saturday afternoon. I’ll definitely be coming back!

My husband and I come here at least 3 times a month, we come from the woodlands Bc food is delicious, service is not the best but it’s alright. Quick suggestion. Hostess need to quit chewing gum, they need to dress better, just by the fact that they’re the first and last person a customer sees. You see them with with skirts and showing their stomach. Come on now have some manners. Servers need to be more attentive. And managers need to walk around and supervise. We will return just Bc the food is good otherwise we wouldn’t come down. Ask for Milly she is one of the good waitresses

Lately service has gone downhill. Needs more wait staff and management. I feel that I’m not receiving a return value for what I paying.

Horrible service. Overpriced, small portions, Average taste. Ceviche didn’t taste like ceviche but then again I am used to ceviche from sinaloa. The beef flautas were good, better than most

Hola Unilocalers ! I was excited about Japanese, America and Mexican Mix restaurant. The restaurant is one of Miyako restaurant group.
— Location. I live in the Gulfton area. Zip 77 081. Good location. Good parking spots.
— Service. I visited there on a Sunday in the afternoon. It was not crowded. I got better service, although other Unilocalers criticized poor service. The servers spoke Spanish to me, although I looked like «Cino, Cinito.(Literally the words mean Chinese, Mexican often call any Asians Chinese). I was guessing that most of the guests were Latinos. I didn’t have to wait. I like the service. I didn’t have to say „Andale!!! This word means Hurry up.
— Decorations, I had to watch some Mexican soccer game on Television. On the other hand, I saw some Japanese sumo wrestler’s pictures. I was confused about the relationship between soccer and sumo. I really enjoyed „Mexican Music“.
Is this restaurant going to make me fat like a sumo wrestler? Then the restaurant make me Salsa dance in order to lose weights and consume calories??? LOL.
— I ordered Salmon Nigiri sushi and Ceviche. I was disappointed with the sushi. The quality was as same as HEB’s one. I should not expect some authentic sushi there.
And the server didn’t put any wasabi. I had never seen a restaurant which didn’t put sushi with Wasabi. Of course, I didn’t say „Puta“.which means some F-​bomb in Spanish. I am a nice man. However, the next time, I will bring wasabi and throw it to servers. LOL.
I liked Mexican Ceviche. I asked my server“ Crudo de Pescado?» Raw fish? She said «No». But it tasted like raw fish. I liked some vinegar. It was too much. The Ceviche made me dance with music.Buena.
Overall, I liked the restaurant. I will be back and organize some meetup there. Mucha Gracious Amigos y Amigas. Adiós. Hasta La Vista Baby!!!

I just had to come and try their food out. Sushi grade was low grade. They try to mix Mexican with sushi which is a failure. For real sushi lovers tip go to a real sushi restaurant or you will be really disappointed. This restaurant is a sister restaurant of mayko. You know, one on Westheimer and one on Kirby. I don’t know what they are thinking with having this place. If you enjoy loud salsa music and don’t care about the quality of sushi, this is your place. For me it was a one time thing.

Per the owners request «No E-​Cigarettes» so he send his rent-​a– cops HISD at that, to rudely ask me to stop smoking. I wish they had restroom tanks! I would of sooo loved to Upper Decker this place! All and all, service was great!

Worst service ever. Worst waitresses ever. Disgusting food. Horrible ambiance. Rude servers. I really hate to be «that guy» but they take forever to give you your food. The waitresses forget what you order. You may as well just come in and ask them to give you whatever they want whenever they want.

I went tonight and the lady’s at the door were dancing while my girlfriend and I were waiting for table for like 15 – 20 minutes. They were siting others people and we never got the table we ask for so long. We left because of them:(
