Poor quality yellowtail. I’m so disappointed with the quality of their sushi. I also got two pieces of yellowtail nigiri… It was terrible. I actually had to toss one of my rolls because it was not fresh. I won’t be back.

Happy hour is amazing. I had New York Maki, red snapper, crab, and the house salad with ginger dressing. Food is amazing. Price is pretty great. My only complaint is that my waitress didn’t come back very often. Other than that delicious. Definitely going back.

I love miyako! There food is delicious the staff is really nice, and the atmosphere inside isnt bad either. The only downside i do not like is that they dont deliver. Sometimes trying to make a to go order in the restaurant can be difficult at times or trying to pay for it. This place does get busy fast so be prepared if you come at night.

Oh Miyako what can I say about you? Sushi here is the . Love coming here specially during the reverse happy hour(after 9pm). Always a lively ambience. My go to favorites are the 7 Spice Calamari, S&M and New York Maki. As well the mussels on the half shell, yum! My only downside, which is why one star short of 5stars, would be the customer service. Its not consistent. First experience here we had a great waitress who was very welcoming and helpful. My most recent experience however, we had a waiter who seemed to rush us through our ordering and never came by the table once to ask how we were doing or if we needed anything else. One of our guests had to ask the busboy for another drink, since the waited never came back to check on us. All in all, that didn’t ruin my image of Miyako. Still going to be coming here on the regular!

Came here after a gym session and during happy hour(9pm). We ordered a few items and shared between 2 people. I love doing this! We focused on healthier stuff: an order of smoked salmon and tuna sashimi, spicy salmon with avocado roll, California roll, and edamame. Added a little low sodium soy sauce on the side. Everything was delicious and affordable! Filling but not overstuffed. Perfect for a late dinner.

Come during happy hour or reverse happy hour. The prices are steep during regular hours. I came with friends after work, and we got the sake bomb special, along with sushi. Everything tastes good. Great place in a convenient location. Parking is a bit scarce during the busy hours.

We went here to close out the weekend. It was a good choice. Both the restaurant and my date were on-point. We started with Beef Sashimi. It was delicious. If you like meat and sushi, you will like this. Don’t fear the meat! Once it hits your lips, it’s so good. Then came the fish. You know I love my fish. The Ocean Wave Maki was good, but I was hoping for a larger roll, more fish. It looked good, tasted good. I just wanted more. the Hot Geisha Maki was on point. It’s slightly cooked, with pretty much everything. The pic says all. Worth a taste. Closed out with the Miyako Special Maki. We were pretty stuffed by this point, but the gal took as much as she could and I put down the rest. We got there before hh so we had a mix of the menu on the regs and happy hour. The gal wanted a drank so we raided the happy hour menu. I went with the Blushing Sake and she had the Mango Fever… but was it really the mango? Overall good spot. Wait for the HH if you can. We like cheap :)

So we tried their sister restaurant on Washington not knowing that there was one down the street from us with the entire identical menu. After a long long week and even longer 11 hrs of work I was glad when my bf told me «let’s go to miyako!» Came a little before 6(happy hour don’t end til 7) and the crowd was scarce. Their interior is the opposite from the one on Washington; a more dark typical sushi restaurant atmosphere. Btw, parking here sucks! It’s is a plaza that has 20 other business and all share 2 strip parallel strip of lots! Exact identical happy hour menu(by far the best sushi happy hour menu imo here in houston) we ordered the crunchy, hot geisha, and saki maki(ranging from $ 6.50−8.50) for sushi and tried their lychee and mango mojitos($ 5 each). Let me say first that I’ve always had a bad impression of mojito .but boy have I changed! Their bartender nailed it! The food was great like we knew it would be. Service was great. Very attentive. Ordered a round of sapora and hot saki for saki bombs($ 2.50 each). We had our last roll called the popcorn shrimp($ 8.50) and shared 1 last drink, mai tai($ 5). The mai tai was beautiful and strongly made if you know what I mean. Haha You can say that for 2 people we ate a lot but CMON if you add up everything I’ve mentioned our tab came out to be $ 53! AMAZING if you ask me. So much food and drinks for such a good price. Let’s be real sushi is never cheap. And if it is. it’s not good sushi. And these people, are some damn good sushi(and drinks).

The first time I had Miyako I was like okay this is good. The second time I had Miyako, I asked myself why this isn’t my go-to sushi place? LOVE it! It’s casual yet intimate, and has good prices for great rolls! I think my favorite roll, ANYWHERE, is their Chilano Roll. When I first read the description I was like whaaaaaa strawberries and jalapenos on a sushi roll… that’s weird. But it’s SO good! Hands down I think this is a must order. distinct and delicious! Crunch roll is good and pretty standard. Fried rice is bomb. Fried rice seems like such a standard entrée but you’d be surprised how many places can really mess it up. Miso soup, great. Noodles dishes. fantastic. I will say the parking sucks. It’s a small, narrow lot in front of the shopping center that a) doesn’t offer a tons of spots and b) some of them are blocked off with signs that say«For ____Business Only.» Other than that, this is my sushi go-to in Houston!

My coworkers and I came for Happy Hour last week. Our waitress did not seem to pay attention to our table as much and forgot some requests, although personally I felt she did follow up with my requests. I ordered the tiger eye roll, the Kirby roll, the chicken gyoza, the chopped scallop, and the tamago. My favorite was the gyoza and the sauce it came with and the tiger eye roll. The dumplings were a good size and tasted really good. The tiger eye roll was also tasty and a good size as well. If I come back again, it would be the gyoza and tiger eye rolls. The Kirby roll was ok. The fish tasted fresh, but this rolls isn’t really too memorable for me. However, I am not a big fan of the chopped scallop and the«tamago» nigiri. The chopped scallop was a bit plain for me. When I think of tamago, I am thinking of the egg omlette. I ordered tamago, but I got something different. I asked the waitress about it, asking that I wanted tamago which is an egg, but she says this is eggs, so I thought ok, maybe it’s different for different sushi places. After doing some research when I got home, I find that what I got was masago and not tamago. Masago is not even on the happy hour menu! Interior is nicely designed. Parking is limited but if coming on a weekday, it is not too bad since the places next doors close early.

I used to come here a lot before they remodeled the place. It actually looks a lot better now, I love the décor. I came here for lunch and even though I was a little disappointing their lunch menu didn’t have a good variety. We ended up ordering from the regular menu, we had the New York maki and the Sea Shore maki which was GREAT! But what impressed me the most was their fried rice. OMG that thing was so good, I could not stop eating. The waitress was very attentive but then again there weren’t a lot of people there. Also, their drinks aren’t that good, unless you prefer super sweet drinks then you wouldn’t have a problem. I would stick with sake and beer. I would definitely come back here again, it’s down the street and it tastes great!

This is a happy hour review. Stepped inside on a Friday afternoon to a pretty empty venue, thought we’d be easy to serve even as a group of five. So… would it kill the servers to smile? Even a little bit? I realize Miyako has a lot of promotional periods, especially that late night 9pm-12am reverse happy hour deal and the Sakura weekend-only menu. Maybe it’d get another chance in those contexts, but I was pretty unimpressed with their normal happy hour. Got the spicy tuna with fried basil and I’d say it was not bad! The tuna was spread atop the rolls in a fairly good amount. Unfortunately, some of my friends’ were less than worthwhile — the mango-go tasted pretty lackluster, and honestly HEB’s salmon and avocado roll was about the same as what my other friend decided on. I mean, they were cheap, so I can concede a bit. But then the servers gave us one plate of wasabi/ginger… for the five of us. Please. My pet peeve with restaurants is stinginess. The server nonchalantly gave us another dish when I asked for one, but the damage was done. Again, because it was happy hour, I can understand if the food quality isn’t too superb. But that service, man, no one cracked a smile, no one said thank you, and they looked wholly unhappy that they were working. The entire atmosphere was dreary, and for that I give Miyako 2 stars rather than 3.

I am giving this place 4 stars because I have consistently liked what I have ordered every time. Now when it comes to sushi, I am pretty much a noob. So noobish that I one time my date laughed at me because I would spread wasabi on each sushi piece and eat them like that. I had no idea that you could mix the wasabi and soy sauce together for a perfect blend of spice and flavor! But I learn something new everyday! So yes, I am new to this style of food. and I haven’t had the best of the best in terms of sushi, but I know what my taste buds like and don’t like. I remember starting with basic tuna rolls and spider rolls and work my way to bolder selections. I can’t say I didn’t like any of them. they were all good. When I sampled some of my date’s more complex rolls I liked them a lot too. I remember one of them being spicy n sweet. Dragon roll maybe? I forget. just goes to show you that I need to go back and try this out again. Service was prompt and courteous and the presentation of the food looked great. If this place gets so-so reviews then I’d like to see what some of the more serious and higher rated sushi spots have to offer. But for now, I can say with confidence that this is a nice spot, with great intimate ambiance, good service and pretty great food for the money. Check it out and decide for yourself. Me personally? I can’t wait to go back.

I came here because of all the good commons. But this place really disappointed me. We were seating there for like 20 minutes and nobody went up and ask for drink or anything. The waitress had pass by us several times and she seems to ignore us on purpose. Btw the food is alright…

One of the best sushi restaurant I have gone to. I have never been anywhere else that had been better in good quality and decent price for sushi. I have been here plenty of times and alway come here for there reverse happy hour after 9pm. I alway tried there clay pot ginger fried rice. Was sooo yummy it didn’t have a lot of flavor but the ginger gave it a kick!

I came here for the first time a week ago and I have to say I’m just a little disappointed. I’ve heard people rave about Miyako so I wanted to try it for myself. I ordered the New York roll, the Tiger eye, a spicy scallop handroll, the S&M roll and the green tea crème brûlée for dessert. Here are my thoughts: New York: It tastes like a buffet-style shaggy roll. Tiger Eye: usually you could never go wrong with a tiger eye but all I could taste was cream cheese. Scallop Handroll: I thought the handroll was decent. I’ve tried better, it didn’t taste as fresh. S&M roll: honestly, it just tasted like fried tempera batter. Crème Brûlée: it was just okay. Nothing special. Kind of lacked with the green tea and got more of the burnt flavor. Maybe I just ordered the wrong things. Besides the food, the service was good. I think I’ll try it again just because they had such a big menu and the prices are awesome.

I really like place! The food was good and so was the service. The servers were very attentive and the manager even came by to check on us. The outside doesn’t look like much but it’s actually pretty nice and cozy inside Chicken wings(3⁄5) — appeared to be «Thai» wings, very strong taste of basil which was nice but the sauce was a bit too much. I thought that the wings were ok but not sure if I’d order again Fish tacos(3⁄5) — I didn’t like it but hubby thought it was good. The fish chunks were a thick/big cut Flaming lobster roll(3.5÷5) — was pretty decent ok but not sure if I’ll order again. The lobster on top was crunchy and gave the roll a nice texture but the taste overall seemed weird like alcohol or something lol. If it wasn’t for that I’d give this a 4. The sushi roll paired with garlic butter sauce was actually good Under the sea maki(5⁄5) — I really like this roll and would definitely order again. It was crunchy and not the crunchy kind that’s hard but at the same time not too hot making the sushi all mushy Green tea crème brûlée(5⁄5) — this was the reason i came here, hehe. It was so good and delicious. The shell on top was crunchy and the inside was creamy. I just wished the flavor of matcha green tea was stronger as I couldn’t taste it as much All the food came out super fast and was fresh and right temperatured. I felt like the sushi was good quality and can’t wait to be back!
