Finally! Found great Chinese. From Alabama so been lookin for a good place for Chinese takeout. Got the sesame chicken combo for lunch takeout and it was delicious! My 3 yr. old son even tried it and loved it, lol. Also got the orange chicken combo for lunch tomorrow when I return to work bc I was off today. Thanks Unilocalers for helping me find this place. I’m very excited about Happy China Café… ADAM

I was a little worried as Chinese places can be hit and miss, but this is definitely a hit! Prices are very affordable, portion sizes are great, and the service was prompt. My chicken fried rice was supposed to have the onions removed, but there weren’t very many, so no biggie. The duck sauce was a little bland. However, the cheese puffs were above average size and a little sweet, just how they should be! The egg drop soup was thick and had a nice flavor. Although I wish they offered delivery, overall, I was very impressed and would return again!

Executive Summary: They’re new. Try again in three months. There are very few Chinese restaurants in Pearland that haven’t completely dumbed down the food they serve so I was looking forward to this place after reading the Unilocalers. My first sign came when I learned they don’t have a website. Oh well; starting off sometimes means making priorities. Second sign: We get there and the exterior lights aren’t turned on. This, I think, is a bit more of a detail issue. Oh well; maybe it’s a soft opening. We go light: Wonton Soup, egg rolls, and pork fried rice. This is where we got problems, kids. First, we get home and there are no egg rolls, but white rice instead. Not sure how you can make that mistake. Second, the wonton soup was all pasta. I think there may have been a bit of pork in there but I couldn’t tell for sure. Third, the pork fried rice was missing all but a few bits of pork and had, which I thought was odd, broccoli in the mix. A rather bland combination. Overall an unimpressive start but, since we didn’t have much in the way of expectations, no big loss. We’ll give them a few weeks to get settled in and try again.

Great service and really good food. If I lived close to the restaurant I would visit everyday. I will recommend this restaurant to all my friends and family.

In a hurry for a late lunch today and pulled in… I’ve been seeing this from the beltway recently and thought I’d give it a try. Honestly, my expectations were low… thought it was just a fast food place. And I was wrong. Service was good and prompt… still thinking the food would be average. Again… wrong! The hot and sour soup had a really nice flavor and the egg roll was great… the kind with the very thin wrapper. The Kung Pao chicken was great! Nice chunks of white meat cooked perfectly… all very fresh. Even the iced tea had a good flavor! So far the best Chinese food around… I’ll definitely be back!

Happy China Café is a new Asian restaurant that opened up relatively close to my office so I stopped in to give it a try. I had the broccoli chicken, egg drop soup and an egg roll, which was off their lunch menu. The service here is very accommodating and the food was all well prepared and came out hot which is important to me. I left feeling very satisfied and will definitely dying here again.

Stopped here today for lunch. Happy to see $ 6.50 lunch special(served 7 days a week 11am-3pm) of entrée with egg roll & sauce, choice of fried or steamed rice, and choice of soup. Generous fresh portions served attractively and tasted absolutely delicious(we had the orange chicken and sweet & sour chicken). Servers were friendly and appropriately attentive. Food arrived quickly. Atmosphere was quiet and comfortable. Dining area was clean and attractive with pleasant décor. Menu was loaded with appealing dishes. Definitely plan to return for dining in or to try take out.

JUST discovered this gem in the Pearland/Houston area off Beltway 8 by Cullen. The restaurant opened three weeks ago and is AMAZING! I’ve ordered to go and actually dined in the restaurant twice in the past week– it’s THATGOOD! Service is quick, staff is friendly. The lunch specials are INCREDIBLE– $ 6.50 and you can choose from a list of 34 items. Lunch deal is available 7 days a week 11AM-3PM. That is a DEAL! Food quality is really good and fresh. We’ve been waiting for a good Chinese restaurant in this area for quite some time and it looks like one has finally arrived! Try it– you’ll be hooked! One other bonus– NOMSG! I have an MSG allergy and was VERY happy to learn they don’t use the additive.

It is a new Chinese restaurant. They have lunch special until 3pm that is only $ 6.50. It comes with rice, soup and an egg roll. For dinner they have big portion which is nice, too. We will be back!
