Ordered the chicken with great trepidation. Last time was awful. We sat at the bar and Kim the bartender was great. Houston’s is back on track.

Me and my boyfriend went here for his birthday. The staff went above and beyond, accommodating us throughout the course of our meal to make sure we had to best experience, despite the high volume of people. Portions are very generous for the price and delicious and came out quick! Try the Thai Steak Noodle salad it was to die for!!!

Very good Steaks and wine and cocktails here,. The great thing about this Restuarant is that it is open from 11am-10pm. The staff here is friendly and well trained. I usually get the Hawaian RibEye Steak and the Thai Noodle salad

I just wanted to thank the Manager and the staff at Houston’s for being so nice and understanding. I was recently there with my husband and we were there to celebrate our pregnancy(into the 2nd Trimester) but unfortunately the food made me feel nauseous/sick and I couldn’t eat it. We were all ready to pay for our meal but the waiter and manager noticed that I only took a bite and came to ask if there was anything wrong with the food. We explained our situation and I reassured him that to not their fault, it’s just the pregnancy. I felt terrible because the cook probably did a great job and I didn’t mean to offend anyone. When our waitress came back, they took off my meal because I didn’t eat it and they didn’t want us to pay for it. Wow Houstons. Your kindness and your service is above and beyond. We will be back — with the little one once I can eat better. Thank You.

Meh. My family has been coming to Houston’s for well over a decade and we’re not as enthralled as we used to be. The service is friendly but not as attentive as years past. The food is still good but we find it overpriced. Most recently I ordered the rotisserie chicken and the dark meat parts were not fully cooked but of course I didn’t notice because of the extremely dim lighting in the restaurant. Once my plate hit some light I was able to see pink/red bones but I had already eaten it so there wasn’t much I could do. I didn’t get sick or anything but this is not the type of mistake I expect at a place like this. I will say that the chicken tasted good and the tabouleh side was fresh and tasty too. Nothing that I’m jumping out of my chair about while writing this, but good. The food is solid but when doing the value to price comparison this isn’t the first place I rush to when I decide to go out.

The service was impeccable. The hostess remembered from our reservation that it was our anniversary. Our server, Magan, was attentive and determined to please us. The manager was at our table making sure everything was ok throughout the night. When we did have a problem, it was corrected quickly. The manager made sure it was to our liking. If you go when it’s cold, ask her to fix you her special hot chocolate and Baileys hot toddy. This was a fantastic experience!

This place was just okay. The hosted was very rude and nonchalant. Very limited menu. Good ribs. Okay hamburger. Great lemon drops at the bar!

The food and service at this place can’t be beat! The ribs and French dip were incredible and the shoestring fries were tasty. I especially liked the perfect ratio of chips to dip with the spinach and artichoke dip. Our waitress was attentive and the manager was very professional and accommodating. When my boyfriend’s food was accidentally thrown away instead of boxes, he provided a replacement. It was so thoughtful and left us with a great impression of the place!

A great date night. Service was attentive, but my wife’s salad arrived at the table 10 minutes before mine. Less than a minute after my salad arrived, my dinner arrived. Then the plate shuffling began. The cheese toast is a good addition to the house salad. The prime rib was very good. Always a hit.

As their name suggests, Houston’s has been a Houston institution for as long as I remember and in a city where fancy steak houses come and go, they are always busy so there has to be a reason for that. Each time I’ve come there has been to go to the bar but I’d assume dining in is about the same with much more wait time if you don’t have reservations. They don’t have a big beer selection on tap but the ones they do have are pretty good. I happened to go there not just once but two days in a row with my friend who was back in town and the first night they were out of smoked salmon so we were a bit bummed but we weren’t that hungry and just had drinks. Meanwhile, the gentleman next to us had the Hawaiian Ribeye and it looked and smelled out of this world. So the next day my friend who had dreamed about the Ribeye(literally) wanted to go back but then we found out they had the smoked salmon and went for that. I have been cheated by smoked salmon at some other places before — where the bring you sliced salmon out of the fridge that you can buy from the store’s deli section, but not this one. This is actual salmon and it will make you not accept anybody else’s smoked salmon. I still need to go back for the ribeye at some point.

I’ve eaten at a number of Houston’s Restaurant locations and one thing that stands out is their consistency. The staff varies from location to location but over-all they all do an excellent job, which validates the amount of time invested in training each of their associates works. I usually find a seat at the bar when in town on business. I’ve found the level of service is always better being the bartenders are right in front of you the entire time and most bartenders are very skilled at customer service and interacting with their clientele which in turn usually results in higher compensation for them. Although it shouldn’t make any difference I think if the person directly responsible for making your cocktail also delivers it to you its going to be better. Like most things in life removing the third party, in this case the dining area server from the situation it becomes more personal and eliminates any chance that any rifts or personality issues between the server and the bartender doesn’t negatively affect the integrity of your cocktail. I’ve eaten most items offer on the simple one page menu and a lot of the items offered on the«secret menu». I’ve recently found one entrée that I seems to land on more often than not the past three or four visits is the«House Cured Double Cut Pork Chop» it’s incredibly tender, moist and and has always been grilled perfectly. The curing process used gives this high quality cut of pork a very complex flavor profile. I only wish they would incorporate this infusion of smoke into a few other offering. I also learned of one secret menu item years ago when dining at the original Houston’s location in Kansas City it’s none other than the«Chop Salad with Buttermilk-Garlic Dressing» served with a side of the infamous«Cheesy Bread». — I could go on and on, all of this is what I love about the limited menu, they can focus on delivering quality, creative dishes consistently. So if you’re having a difficult time making a decision on where to dine this is always a safe choice. I usually end up at one of their locations at least once during each of my frequent visits to Houston.

My husband and I came here in date night. No kids! Although, I see one and the staff immediately made accommodation for the little fella. The wait staff is so friendly. She talked to is when we wanted to talk and left us alone when we wanted to be left to each other. The atmosphere is business casual. I showed up in jeans, flip flops and blouse. I felt underdressed but there were no looks or comments that I noticed. The lighting is dim. I’m very happy with our experience and the training of the wait staff. I will defiantly be going back!

This location is about a 7 min drive from the galleria mall on Westheimer. The parking lot was pretty small. I was pretty impressed to see how busy it was on the inside. Once I walked in… It had a very intimate mood there with dim lightning creating an upscale ambience. There was a bar located right when you walk in. Pretty smart. Conserving how you can still be entertained and spend money while waiting to spend more money dining with them. The entrees starting around $ 28. The appetizers were about $ 15. Their menu selection wasn’t huge which was nice considering that they are the type of place to make a few things excellent instead of focusing too much items that taste mediocre. The potatoes were not that great and they tasted like instant potatoes … Actually. My potatoes that I make are ten times better. We ordered a bottle of wine from Napa Valley and it was pretty decent. I was bummed that they didn’t have any moscato since I was in the mood for it. I ordered steak medium rare and it was very thick and hearty. They were not stingy at all with their meat. The salmon was cooked well and I loved it. The service was great and they presented the dishes in a beautiful fashion. Also… the pecan peach cobbler with ice cream was to die for… Omg I loved it so. I’ll definitely return. The total was about $ 150 which included our whole bottle of wine from Napa Valley.

Deliciousness! If my pictures alone can’t convince you enough to eat here, idk what else I can do! A very nice and elegant restaurant to go to for a steak dinner. The place can be pretty busy with a long wait. Even for a week night, it was about an hour wait for a party of 4. We definitely built up an appetite waiting. We got the spinach dip for an appetizer followed by salads. The Ahi tuna salad and the thai noodle salads were plentiful and yummy. Full of flavor and different. I got the center cut that was cooked perfect to me request. The mister got the Hawaiian steak which he thought was amazing. Full loaded potato was great and truly fully loaded. We definitely killed it. The service was up to par. Nothing wrong or over the top. Highly recommend for date night or even just a nice dinner with friends after work.

Another fabulous lunch at Houston. We ordered our usual favorites: 1. Grill artichokes 2. Spinach dip 3. Pork chop 4. Prime rib 5. Gin collins 6. Caymus Special Select 7. Desserts, Scotch, and latte Foods delicious. See pics. Houston has a great wines list and awesome prices! Service is decent and today, service was great. Note: After trying this location and the Kirby location multiple times, I prefer this location(Westheimer). The food and service seems to be better overall.

Can you believe that I have lived in Houston, TX my entire life and have never been to Houston’s Restaurant? Well let me tell you, Houston’s was life changing for me! I have never really been one for fancy or fine dining. However, I have also heard mixed reviews about Houston’s from friends and acquaintances so that may have played a huge part in my biasness. Last night, my man treated me to an amazing dining experience. As I walked in, I immediately noticed the low romantic, ambient lighting, low ceilings, and white linen table clothes. As we sat down at our table we were immediately greeted by our waitress Rebecca(she was so sweet and attentive). Since I had not been here before, I wanted to browse the menu for a few more minutes. After a long self-debate, I decided on the Hickory Burger and my significant other decided on the Fish Sandwich and we halved each and shared. Hickory Burger(cooked to med-rare)-This burger is by far than just great burger. It was juicy, succulent, tender, and just melted in my mouth. It had a hint of hickory barbeque sauce on it, so it didn’t need any additional condiments in my opinion at all. The Canadian bacon took it to a whole new dimension and made the flavors pop even more. The bun was buttery and soft. Devine. Gulf Coast Fish Sandwich-This was a white fish, Grouper, fried in a light batter to perfection. Topped with their creamy coleslaw and onions. My first bite was heaven. I love me a fish sandwich and not many places can get it right. It was the most amazing thing that has ever touch my tongue. I can’t wait to order this one again! I am not going to lie, my expectations were sort of low for this place, as I mentioned earlier, I am not one for fancy/upscale dining. However, Houston’s won my heart after they blew me out of the water with everything, from the service, food, and the atmosphere. Bravo, I will be back!
