Shweta is a great myofascial massage therapist who really cares and will teach you how to prevent pain. Talk about first-world problems: whoever would have thought that desk jobs are hazardous to your health! I came here because I’m trying to correct this lordosis(aka swayback) I’ve developed from typing all day. I never would have guessed that doing manual labor-type work everyday, like construction, is actually better for your body than sitting in front of a computer. Shweta broke it all down to me during my first session with her why many people have posture and back problems. The human body wasn’t meant to sit at a desk for 8 hrs/day and be struck in a car 2+ hours a day during traffic. But that’s what most of us do and it causes super tight hips, super tight & overworked quads, a strained lower back, hunched over shoulders and overall really bad flexibility. Shweta’s practice is isn’t just a massage therapist that makes you feel better. I’ve been to many of those places and it’s a short term fix. She combines massage therapy + yoga to get your flexibility and posture back. You might think you have good posture when you really don’t. She can just look at the way you stand, sit or walk and see what muscles are overworked or shortened. We went over how I need to sit at my desk, the stretches I need to do in the morning and then she gave me a myofacial massage on my quads to loosen them up. I love the way she broke down the exact reason my lower back hurts after I get off work in the evening. I’m sure millions of others have the exact same problem I do. We all think our lower back is the problem when it’s REALLY our rotated hips. The strained back is only the symptom. because it’s working too hard to pull your body up. The session cost me $ 115 and it was well worth it it. I’m going back every week until I have perfect posture, can squat all the way to the ground, and have no back pain at the end of the day. I’d rather make the investment now of a couple hounded bucks for several months than be hunched over 40 years down the line.
