Seems strange to review a doctor on Unilocal, but when I was searching for a plastic surgeon, I couldn’t find many reviews — so in hopes that someone else finds themselves in my shoes, here ya go: Dr. Dora performed my BR surgery just under two weeks ago. HIs receptionist/medical assistant, Janie is extremely helpful and very friendly. Highly professional and really knowledgeable. During my consultation process, I had absolutely no problems getting an appointment. I had already seen another surgeon, but when I found out he wasn’t board certified, I kept looking and finally found Dr. Dora — who also happened to be in network and was board certified as well. He has many years experience, and will answer every single question you can manage to ask. One thing I really liked about him is that he isn’t all foo-foo and fancy — he’s very down to earth. If I want to go to a spa, I will go to a spa — I want my doctor or surgeon to represent their field appropriately and having plastic surgery is not a day at the spa — that is for sure! HIs office is small but comfortable — and conveniently located by Memorial Hermann on I10 and Gessner. He will not keep you waiting — if your appointment is at 8:00– he will be ready for you at 8:00. If you show up 5 minutes early, he will be waiting for you. Insurance — Janie handled all the legwork on getting my pre-authorization for surgery. She was able to work with my insurance to expedite the process as my insurance was changing and I wanted to take full advantage of meeting my deductible. The entire process took less than 10 days. Day of Surgery: Surgery was scheduled for 7:30 — I arrived at 6:30 and was promptly taken back to the pre-op room. IV was started, and Dr. Dora came in shortly thereafter to begin marking me for the surgery. He was very courteous and kind to my family — he made a point to speak to my husband and sister and asked to make sure one of them would be there after my surgery so he could update them. I vaguely remember him peeking in the recovery room, but he did come in and tell me everything went really well. He does requrie an overnight stay in the hospital which was fine with me — one night isn’t so bad and the nurses at Memorial Hermann were OUTSTANDING. The actual surgery went very well — my pain is not unmanageable, and the incisions look like they will heal very nicely. Breast reduction surgery is not a walk in the park, but Dr. Dora and Janie certainly made it as comfortable as possible. Feel free to send me a private message if you have questions I did not address.
