Delicious place tucked away in a strip center just down the road from the medical center, it might be walkable. The 3 people in my group all order the Thai fried rice. It was delicious and I definitely will order it again next time I am back in Houston. Resturant gets busy at lunchtime but orders come out quickly so the wait isn’t that bad.

Good stuff. We at in house and started with Chicken Satay — which came out sizzling! A little more seasoning was needed on the meat, but overall very good with a hearty peanut sauce. For the entrée, Duck Curry and Pad Thai were both excellent. We ordered them 3 star spicy, and overall was not too hot but perfect amount of heat. Pad Thai was one of the best I have ever had. Will go again soon. Also BYOB, so $ 3 cork fee and your having your favorite wine or beverage with dinner!

The new downtown location on Franklin is nice! They are now open in the evenings. I ordered a few items not on the menu and they made them. I’ll be back.

Our son mentioned this place & we had to check it out. Delicious &5 star Thai food. Also good service & reasonably priced. Nice deco too. Only 3 – 4 blocks from NRG(Reliant) Stadium in Houston. It’s located in a strip center behind Krogers. Will post photos later. We only tried the appetizers as still suffering from OD’ing on Thanksgiving dinner the day before. The satay(6 grilled chicken skewers) was marinated in herbs/spices. Also available in beef or pork. Came w/peanut sauce & cucumber salad sauce… wow! We shared a tiny bowl of mouth watering wonton soup. The soup also had cilantro & bean sprouts in the broth. And we tried the steamed pork dumplings. Most places if you only eat an appetizer or two, you will leave hungry. NOT here. Good size servings & good taste. Also enjoyed the iced tea. Next time I’ll try their«Thai Iced Tea». We will visit again whenever in Houston. We give them 5 stars & two thumbs up!

Ordered takeout, really enjoyed it. I got Crispy spring rolls and Panang Curry. Both were really good and it was all ready when I got there to pick it up. They keep all of the to go orders in big HEB thermal bags so they don’t get cold. Super nice. They make their own sauce for the spring rolls and it was amazing. I do with the Curry had more veggies in it, it only had green beans, and that it was a bit more flavorful. I will be returning though. Great service.

Came here with a couple of friends for Sunday night dinner. I thought the food was salty and overpriced. Like most Thai places, there are plenty of vegetarian options. However, I could have received similar tasting food for a much cheaper price somewhere else. I ordered a veggie pad see ew and added tofu to it. Chicken/pork pad se ew costs $ 12. Beef pad se ew is $ 13, and shrimp is $ 14. Veggie pad se ew with tofu was $ 14. There is an extra $ 1 charge for tofu. Just doesn’t seem right to have to pay that much for an average tasting, meatless meal. The interior décor is very minimal and the location is small. Maybe 15 tables max. It was not busy on Sunday night, but I don’t know how busy it gets at more peak times. We did not have any problems with service. Ample parking available in the lot.

Super delicious and fast delivery to Med Center. It would be easier if you could place orders on-line, however, that won’t stop me from calling in again.

This is a beautiful traditional Thai restaurant, with friendly(and respectful) waiters well served portions, and good food.

This place is very close to my apt complex so I decided to try it. It’s okay I mean I been to better Thai places, to me it’s kinda pricey I order the yellow curry it was okay but I wish it was spicier I even told them I wanted it medium. The good thing is that is BYOB but if you want to get your Thai fix this will do.

Not a fan. When we were seated, I found a dead fruit fly on my napkin. When I was eating my spring roll(came with the lunch special, the lady took my sauce away while I was still eating!!! I was not done. The portions are ok and the taste was edible. I might give it another try and order something else(i had the eggplant and basil). I would not go out of my way to eat here.

I did not have much time after work to grab something to eat and I really wanted Thai food. I really wanted Thai Spice in Bellaire(it beats the one in rice village x 10) but it was too far of a drive, especially around 5pm. So I thought I would try this place out. For the price, no. But to me, the food was just mediocre compared to other Thai places I have had. It was good enough for convenience. Paid about $ 52 for Pad Se Ew, Basil Beef, Yellow Curry, and Fish Cake Appetizer. To go service was good. Very nice people.

Wow! Not too shabby. We ordered this for our office lunch today and I was very pleased. Usually when our lunch gets to us it’s cold and blobby. When I opened my lunch today, it was still hot and the portion was huge. I ordered the Pad Thai and I was not disappointed. It had tons of flavor. I’ve heard people around the office praising their food as well. I would like to go in person sometime and check it out before I give it 5 stars. Maybe try something else on the menu.

My co-workers and I had morning side Thai delivered last week at work in the Med center. I got the peanut chicken and would get it again. Two cons– more spinach in the meal than chicken and very small servings. The rice and spring rolls were great and the dumpling appetizer was just so so. I would definitely have it delivered again.

This is my go to spot for Thai food and the only thai restaurant in Houston I’ll go to unless I find a better Thai place close To the apt! My boyfriend and I always go here for a lunch date if he gets off work before 2:30! We actually came here on 5⁄19 for lunch at 2pm and they still served us. We always get the same thing anyway, so we were in and out within 30 mins! Although service was slow on 5⁄19 with only one other table that came in after us. The server didn’t even ask us what we wanted to drink when she came to fill our glass with water… This server actually happens to be our server every time! And when we did tell her what we wanted a drink, I had to ask her again for our drinks 5 mins later since she was walking in and out of the kitchen without bringing our drinks… She brought our drinks out in a to go cup… We didn’t ask for one… My boyfriend had to get another refill right when she gave his Drink bc the cup was smaller than the glass… I understand that you close at 2:30, but it’s not an excuse to give us bad service or make us feel rushed when we are already rushing on our own… We ordered our food quickly bc we came in at 2pm… Anyway we are always satisfied with our food! We love their pineapple Curry, panang curry and pad Thai! I ordered pad Thai and the lunch portion was huge! I still have some in the fridge and had leftovers for lunch today… We also got the beef satay and the beef was very tender and juicy! I would recommend this place, but service can be a hit or miss.

I’ve had Morningside on 2 occasions and both of them were deliveries. The delivery service is prompt and I’ve never had any issues. I had tried the Pad Pet, pineapple fried rice, green curry, and chicken pad thai. Everything tasted good and the portions were large enough to share. The food isn’t anything that will stand out but it is definitely not bad. I did find it strange that the lady that took my order on the phone did not ask my preference for level of spiciness. When the food came I found it to be very mild so I added some of my own hot sauce. I would recommend asking if they can do different levels of spice!

I was debating whether to write a review on Morningside Thai, because I’ve only really gotten takeout from them(I visited the restaurant once a while ago), but since I’ve ordered their pad thai three times in the past month, I decided to go ahead and write something. I always get the veggie pad thai, which comes with carrots, broccoli, green beans, bean sprouts and tofu. A single portion for $ 11.95 lasts me three meals, which is a very good price and the food always arrives within 30 minutes and is steaming hot. The pad thai is a bit too sweet, but that’s a problem at all Thai restaurants in Houston. If there are any Thai restaurant-owners reading this, real pad thai is not supposed to be sugar noodles! However, Morningside’s pad thai doesn’t fare terribly. It has a slight lemon-y taste, peanuts and a variety of delicious vegetables, which makes it a decent meal when I’m craving Thai. There also isn’t a delivery cost(but you have to place a minimum $ 20 order). Last week I also got the mango and sticky rice. This dish was far from the authentic version. The rice didn’t taste fresh, there wasn’t enough coconut milk and there wasn’t any toasted sesame seeds to top off the rice(You can tell I’m a huge sticky-rice-and-mango snob). All in all, decent pad thai for when you can’t cook for three days straight and don’t want to get out of bed.

Was here on a Sunday night and it was quiet so we got sit down quickly. It’s a small place so don’t come during peak hours or else you’ll wait. There was about maybe 15 tables and there were a couple outside as well. Our servers were definitely attentive and always came over to see how we were doing. Always had our drinks refilled. They were super nice people, I believe the owner was there working as well so we got to see her too. The food was great, they definitely give you good size portion of food for their prices; so think about sharing if you want a cheap bill. All the food that came out was hot and great. Recommend the fried banana and the mango with sticky rice. She did say that the mango sticky rice is seasonal, only for spring and summer. Overall experience was great. Will go again.

I recently saw Morningside Thai move from the village area into the medical center. So this is fairly close to my work. Going inside, the place is cozy but small. There is maybe 10 – 12 tables inside and most can only fit 3 – 4 people. We had the Pad Thai, curry and some other dish that was on their lunch special. The food was okay, not the best but there is not really any Thai competition in the Medical Center. The staff was very friendly and attentive. If I need a thai fix and am at work, I would go there. But if I am not at work, there are better ones out there.

Moving back into the medical center is giving me a chance to rediscover the gems and dumps of the area. From my time leaving many places have stood the tests of times while others have folded up. This is a place that actually moved. It once stood in a quaint house on «morningside» thus the name. But now it has moved off Kirby. The location is tiny, and has only about 10 tables total. It is definitely more of a take out kind of place. We decided to stop in for dinner one night. We started off with Thai Teas, which they make ridiculously sweet. We ordered the massaman chicken curry and the beef pad kee mao. Both were OK. The veggies in the curry were not cooked long enough making them very hard. The chicken was cut into big chunks, that’s just a personal preference though. The pad kee mao was a HUGE portion, which is good. But there was very little meat in the dish. I could see why people order to go here. If the are just looking for their thai fix, I could see this place filling that void.

It used to be on Morningside near the village. Now it is located a few blocks down to Braeswood. Worry not, although the location has changed the food is just as good as it used to be. I ordered the curry noodles and they were really delicious and with a gernerous amount. We also ordered the green curry which was spicy, it wasnt even mild it was the most basic spice but still spicy. I would rate this 2nd to Thai Gourmet.
