I didnt want to try out this place because of the outlook is kinda shady. But today, I got surprised. I tried the combination noodles(mì khô thp cm) and it was so perfect. Food came out fast, reasonable price. However, the portion seems to be a little small. Dont forget to add some crispy garlic from the jar on the table into your meal. Cant wait to be back.

This establishment is one of those places where your motto going in should be «don’t judge a book by it’s cover». It’s in the sketchier area of town, I work in the Greenspoint area so this is usually a regular monthly rotation lunch spot for me. Def. an authentic Viet restaurant. They even serve a Cambodian style noodle soup, which you don’t see often & if I might add very tasty. One of my fave noodle soup there is the duck soup w/egg noodle. It comes with nice big piece of duck which by the way is very tender and falls off the bone, baby bok choy and shitake mushroom. The broth is so good, probably one of the best I’ve had, I don’t even add all the extra condiments in it. The spring rolls are also tasty and huge! I love the peanut sauce that it comes with. And best of all the price for what you get is dirt cheap! At lunch on week days you see a mixed crowd, and quite a few working professionals that work in the area come here for lunch. Def. give it a try if you’re in the area or if you feel like venturing out, your taste buds won’t be disappointed.

The phở was really good! We had lunch on a Saturday around 2:30 and they were sold out of spring rolls, vermicelli dish and egg rolls, bummer. Limited menu, but we would go back.

This place is amazing for phở, I am a regular the staff already knows me so well. I usually come here with my mom for the chicken phó and I love it ! It is cheap and totally worth it. They give you lots of chicken the place is nice I love it here lots of room for parking as well, never had a bad experience yet. All I can say is that the only thing I can add is for them to add egg rolls on the menu other then that it is amazing!

My favorite Phở place; I have been coming here several times a month with my family for years. I always get #26; sometimes with the broth on the side for something different. Chicken rice is amazing, but sells out quickly on Saturdays. The bone soup is the BEST, but go early if you want this because it is usually always sold out by the afternoon. The only dish i’m not a fan of is the rice porridge. I think it lacks depth of flavor, but i could be biased because my dad makes the best :)

This spot is super close to where I live and has great hieu tieu! I occasionally go here with my mom and friends when we have a craving for it. Also, in my opinion they make one of the best Thai tea around town! Overall, the food is delicious, the Thai tea is bomb, the service is great, and reasonable prices for the amount of food. Even though I don’t go here on a regular basis, the waiter still remembers me and and what I order!

First glance of this phở place had me wondering, as it seemed pretty sketchy with blacked out windows and bars on the window. But the phở made up for it. The broth was very flavorful and they gave me ample amounts of meat. Would hit this place up again.

The signature dish here, of course, is Hu Tieu Nam Vang. which basically is a Cambodian/Vietnamese noodle soup that is souper flavorful and delicious. There are many places and variants of this soup, with almost always the same meats, but always different variety of noodles you can choose. Flat noodles, skinny noodles, egg noodles, clear vermicelli rice noodles, etc. but they are all good, just whatever floats your boat. This soup dish is more akin to ramen than it is to Phở in my opinion. It has a thick, hearty, fatty broth with slices of pork and pork bones. Put in some extra fried garlic from the condiment jar on the table, and get the fried breadsticks to dip into the soup. If you dont like this soup, you cant hang out with me. Gastronaut approved!

Staff, the meal, and price are spot on. I ordered the spring rolls. Delicious and made fresh. Chicken phở was great with fresh Vegatables. Service was excellent. The food was delivered quick. It was like I called ahead and pre ordered. I would recommend this restaurant to the pope.

This place has been here for 10+ years. I used to frequent it a lot since it was only 5 min away from my parent’s house. My dad wanted to take me and the kiddo here. So I ordered a large hu tieu nam vang dry with soft phở noodles. I used to like this a lot from what I remembered years ago, but this time it just tasted ok… nothing spectacular about it. But it’s hard to eat anything enjoyable nowadays when you have to tend to a toddler at the same time! She seemed to enjoy the broth though. I like this place because they have a jar of fried garlic bits along with pickled jalapenos… you can’t not put it in your bowl! I really like their soda chanh muoi, too… it always hits the spot. It’s in a pretty shady area… so lock up your cars!

If you want good phở do not come here. Their phở is extra sweet. I usually get the hu tieu nam vang. Good but warning they use a lot of msg in their soups. I’m always dehydrated and super tired every time I leave here so don’t come very often. It takes awhile for them to come take your order but food doesn’t take too long to come out after.

What a disappointment! After checking out reviews from fellow Unilocalers I was looking forward to trying this place. Picture after picture made me want to go to this place even more so I finally went to try it. I ordered their most popular phở which was on top of their menu and an order of Spring rolls. I figured I could have not possibly gone wrong with fresh spring rolls and their most popular phở right? But I was wrong, very wrong… The spring rolls were old, I could smell the mix of other foods from standing in the refrigerator for so long and even the rice paper was hard to bite into, the cilantro had been in that roll for so long that it completely empowered the taste of everything else in the roll so after two bites I was done! The phở? Yes is was a little sweeter than what I am usually used to but it was on other reviews so I knew what I was expecting but with that said I also expected it to be delicious and it was just not what I expected. The meat was uncooked and tripe was semi cooked(as described on menu) but it had more fat than it was described on their menu and from pictures posted on Unilocal but this is my favorite part, the sauce for their phở also smelled like heavy refrigeration which I cannot stand! I do not like to give one-star reviews but I cannot tolerate nasty foods that are not up to par to fresh foods or $ 7 phở. When a food item is kept too long in the fridge exposed to other foods uncovered there is potential food poisoning. I think I will stick to my fave phở place. Thank you.

Food was tasty, prices were good. Very satisfied with the whole place. It was a bit difficult to find cause their signs were in place and white mixed with the other stores that were closed down. Thai tea was as great as sweet as I would have liked it but still decent. Overall very happy and will be back.

After so many years, I still love coming to this place. The broth is a little different(just a tad sweeter) than most of the phở I’ve tried. The workers here are always great. My favorite thing I like to get is this Chinese bread that goes well the phở! Will always be back.

MUST order: Hu tieu Nam Vang kho(soup on the side) Large Phở Ga Di Bo Mi Thap Cam(soup on the side) Get here before noon, or risk standing in line and gawk at the mostly Viet patrons enjoying and slurping their food. The shopping center is a bit older. The casual tables and décor reminds me of the family style phở restaurants, and service is above average for an Asian restaurant. Friendly waiters :) For northwest options, this place has consistently good Viet noodle dishes. I’m talking dry hu tieu Nam vang, their star dish,(rice and glass noodles) with slices of meat and liver. The large phở made with free range chicken is also delicious, but you must order a LARGE bowl, the small bowl uses regular chicken which does not have the same flavor. It also comes with fried dough sticks to add to your soup. Make sure you ask for a small bowl of fat to add to your phở soup, it makes a difference. Dry egg noodles(mi Thap cam) has the perfect chewy texture of noodles paired again with a combo of sliced meat and soup on the side. Each table has a variety of sauces for you to mix your own ratios and also add the homemade fried minced garlic to your dry noodles for an extra crunch and great texture. And yes, this place along with most Asian restaurants, likes to use msg, so please hydrate yourself to avoid the msg headache after you devour your delicious food.

My tongue tingles and not in a good way… I used to come here often when I was younger. They had the best hu Tieu in the city! Such good quality. But it’s been a while since I came back. Maybe a year or 2? I guess they changed owners or something because the staff looked different and the décor also looked different. Anyways I got the usual hu tieu nam vang. The broth tasted so plain. It was like just pork stock and barely any natural flavor. And it’s been 3 hours since I ate it, my tongue still has this weird tingle. I believe it’s from all the MSG they put in there or something. I may not come back. I will definitely miss the old place, but it’s just not the same.

Had a chance to try this restaurant recently. As other people have mentioned, it is definitely hard to find and is sort of covered by a gas station. I ordered a phở khong thit(phở without meat) to go. I found the phở to be okay, but certainly not one of the best I’ve had in Houston. Also, given the location and number of phở restaurants I have been to around town, I was also honestly pretty shocked at the price of the phở(almost $ 6!) — VERY expensive for the amount of phở I was given and also compared to other phở restaurants in Houston. Maybe it was what I ordered, but after all of the positive reviews, I was expecting to be more impressed with what I ordered. Although my food wasn’t awful, I don’t expect that I will return anytime soon.

I am officially a fan of the hu tieu nam vang(the noodle soup)! It’s so good and different from other phở’s. There’s lots of chicken meat, a slice of liver, and even a shrimp in the dry noodle bowl, and it comes with the broth separately, for those who don’t innately know this already, ie. the non-Vietnamese like yours truly. I add in the steamed bean sprouts, fresh lettuce, and crunchy garlic pieces and a generous squeeze of lemon. So refreshing! I’ll reiterate what other Unilocalers are saying — the spring rolls are the best here! I like that they include mint leaves. Gives it that extra something special. This Thai tea is also one of the best I’ve had in Houston. It’s less sweet than other tea houses, which I like. Has more of a bold tea flavor. Loooove it aaalllll !! :) (I DIDNOT enjoy their regular beef phở. The broth was strange.)
