Initially when I hired Dahomey to excavate and install a driveway I was a bit skeptical, seeing all the reviews online about his character and how recent the reviews were provided did not help either. However, I went ahead and took the chance because the price was probably the best and I had control over the work flow. He accepted the terms that I provided him to work under and did an excellent job with executing the driveway. I did not have any trouble reaching him for daily updates regarding the status of my project and he updated me on any issues he was running across such as rain delays and acquiring material for the framing. Overall, he delivered the project on the budget that we agreed on, and the original timeline was a bit optimistic, but he explained why there were delays and made sure that the overall cost of the project did not increase which was my main concern.

I hope this review helps others that are interested in using Dahomey as a contractor. I’ve been burned by a few contractors during some of my home renovations projects, but my experience with Dahomey was overall a good one. I think the one element that probably made it the most stressful was reading all the reviews online about him. Overall, I would recommend him to my family and friends. However, please always use good judgment when paying contractors for work. I always steer clear of contractors that require hefty amounts of payments upfront and ask for unreasonable amounts of trust. This goes for any contractor you use in general. I’ve heard many horror stories and have had my own stories that I can tell.

I hired Dahomey Garcia of Rainbow Home Works to add more cabinets in the kitchen, similar to my existing cabinets.
On the written contract, he said that he will finish the job in one week. A week went by, and when I asked him about the progress he said that the carpenter needs more dimensions and a sample drawer and a door. We provided him that, and another week went by again. I kept messaging him with no reply. He said he will return the money and items he took from me, but its been two weeks now and there is no sign of him. I am planning to take him to small claim court but I am writing this review for anyone who might be considering Dahomey for his services. This guy is a fraud. If his people are busy, he should not have committed to the time. He has zero integrity. I would not recommend him to anyone.

I really love the Carport that RPS built for me. The crew was very punctual and completed the project in the projected time frame; never once having to double back to finish the job like some other crews. With painstaking attention to detail, and unbeatable organization from the foreman, I never once had to monitor the crew. And to top it off, they were very thorough in cleaning up after themselves and taking care of the odds and ends of the project without me having to tell them to do so, or taking the time to do it myself.
