This place is no better than a great clips or supercuts. I usually cut my own hair and am usually satisfied but this day I just didn’t have the time. I decided give this place a try. I first asked for a skin fade cut thinking a premium place like this should be able to do it but my «barber» said she was not comfortable doing one. That’s understandable since it can be difficult to blend but don’t call yourself a barber shop unless all your employees know how to use a straight edge razor. I have very short hair and just asked for a regular fade since that was the that case. Well when I got home I noticed the fade wasn’t blended at all but was choppy, uneven and the lines were not blended at all. The whole thing was rushed, only taking 10 minutes and I’m sure I could have done a better job myself. It’s not worth the price seeing how this isn’t a real barber shop but rather a salon.

June is great. I was treated like a $ 50 hair cut for $ 20.

Made a Trader Joe’s run for my girlfriend and did a quick search on places nearby that cut hair as I had a company Christmas party to attend that evening. Roosters isn’t the cheapest option a guy is bound to find, by I was treated decently, had pleasant conversation, and left looking significantly better than when I arrived.

Update: I got a challenging reply on my review and I get it if facts were known. Kudos for at least a reply. I would never have been a walk-in. My experiece at this shop is that Sandra is the only one there that is good enough for me and that is why I make appointments with her. That day, I did not have the time to sit for her if she was 30 minutes late. I did not take the time to train the sub and left my hair slicked back and passed up a shampoo so I could do that myself. The $ 10 tip was for a low-paid haircutter trying to make a living at this franchised outlet. No fault of hers… The highest priced professionals in Galleria area is $ 50 with no tip expected. So paying a total of $ 38 is judgemental and convenient but, obviously, expected more. My «bad» haircut was simply not up to Sandra’s standard«good» one for my hair.

Good place for a quality men’s haircut/style. Make an appointment and you’ll be in and out in 30 min, including shampoo if ya want it. If you’re worried about having a «true barber,» then just ask for Isabel, she’s excellent! I kept the same hairstyle but she managed to improve it/make it look so much better that I’ve been getting compliments from co-workers who see me all the time. I think that says a great deal about Isabel’s skills! Highly recommend her!

I recently moved to Glastonbury and left my favorite barber behind. I did a Google search and found Roosters. I was able to schedule an appointment online with Mike. I am very particular about how I style and cut my hair. Mike was prompt, engaged in a perfect amount of chit-chat, and did an amazing job washing/cutting/styling my hair. I guess I found my new fav barber… I will return again :) Go Mike!!!

Great place to come get a cut, been bringing my son for over a year and he always walks out happy. Clean place, friendly staff and very convenient location. Two thumbs up!

This place is awesome. Ask for Jasmine if you go in. She makes sure you have your hair just the way you want. The hot towels are so relaxing. The shaves are done with disposable razors that are thrown away after each shave(I watched). Decent prices and very clean and organized shop.

I only get my haircut from Roosters now. Isabel, who I highly recommend, always gives the best cut and has great customer service. I’m always greeted and offered a drink right when I walk in.

Don’t remember my stylist’s name because she didn’t introduce herself. Decent haircut. I walked in with a picture of exactly what I wanted and she quickly said she could do it but offered no feedback as to how it would look on me. Then she started asking me what number I wanted and if I wanted any length off a particular area. I had to tell her that she was the expert and I didn’t care what she did as long as it looked like the picture. I want the time, don’t tell me how to build the watch. In the end, it’s pretty close but it wasn’t the pampering atmosphere I was looking for. I should have done more research.

I wanted to select 0 stars, but Unilocal… I’ve given myself a week to cool down and I still feel like writing this comment. This location needs to be CLOSED. Most of my cut was acceptable, and from what I saw in the shop it was fine. However, getting back to my hotel i realized that I’ll need to visit my local barber when i get home to have them straighten up my neck line, which brings me to my primary complaint. Without any warning, I received a neck shave, with a used, dull, disposable razor, which has caused such a horrible rash on my neck(a nice combo of acne, ingrown hairs, and razor burn), it’s actually embarrassing. When I called the stylist out on using a disposable she snidely commented«it’s just as smooth». Any good barber knows that its about more than just cutting the hairs. I get my grooming done exclusively at Roosters(in Colorado) and I wanted to get cleaned up while i was on travel. Roosters has never let me down back home, they use a proper warm lather and a fresh NEW straight edge razer. Another key point to my horrible service was the fact that AFTER my cut, my groomer lets me know that neither her nor the other workers are actually barbers… umm, I’m pretty sure the point of a BARBER shop is to be a BARBER. All in all, I hope this message reaches not only management, but the people who may consider visiting this«salon»…

There is no place I am more relaxed while getting a haircut, that always exceeds my expectations. Ask for Jennifer. She has always done an awesome job and she’s very kind. I look forward to my monthly visit.

I called in the afternoon and tried to make an appointment for after work. I was told they were walk ins only after 5. That’s fine, I came in at 5 and no one was waiting. Two stylists with two customers. «Do you have an appointment?» «No.» «Sorry, we’re booked.» I explained what I was told that afternoon and I got the impression they didn’t believe me. Very strange. I drove out of my way to go here too.

Purchased a group on for $ 25 and was on my way to a wedding and decided to try and use it that day to get a close shave. I arrived a little after they opened since I had to travel out of town for the wedding. After the front desk girl greeted me unenthusiastically I told her I had groupon and asked for a specific barber based on the reviews I read here. She rolled her eyes and told me that the barber who I requested was not there and that the lady who was there did not accept groupons. This puzzled me. I don’t know how one person that works at a chain barber shop can accept groupons and the other can not. Didn’t matter to me at the time since I had to go. Very disappointed at this initial visit to the place. Now that my groupon has expired I am going to try and use it again at face value to get a haircut. I will update and see how that goes.

I really enjoy this place. I come here for a haircut about every two months or so, but I get a shave about every two to three weeks. Is it a bit on the pricey side? Yes. Is it worth the money? I think so. I have never had a bad haircut there and the shave is always great. Finding a good barber is tough to do… I like a shop where I can get a shave as well. The days of a great barber doing $ 5 cuts are long gone. Men’s grooming services are beginning to be priced more closely to women’s, so we just need to suck it up and accept that our haircuts will cost us more. In any case, I think that they run a good operation at this Rooster’s. I recommend it to any guy looking for a good haircut and/or a shave and willing to pay to have a good one. You could go to the Supercuts, but why not pay eight or nine dollars more to have a substantially better haircut and overall experience.

It was my first time going to roosters. Being an exclusive mens grooming centre has its advantages. A brief description about the service. I arrived 30 min before closing. I was greeted properly and was asssigned a stylist. The stylist understood my style and performed the haircut. The experience was good. The only problem was the price of the actual haircut for the service and it does not commensurate the level of service provided. I think they should price lower.

Been coming here on a monthly basis for over a year, and what was once a great place to get a haircut, it seems to have gone steadily downhill over the past 6 – 8 months. To begin with, they do a good job at cutting hair, and do some of the little extras like the hot towel on your face when you are getting your hair washed. They have TV’s at the side of the room so you can watch a game or sports highlights as you are getting your hair cut. The stylists are friendly, and it is highly recommended that you make an appointment. What I don’t like about the place, and I feel this is where they are going to suffer is that it seems they have a hard time at keeping their good stylists. Seems like every month that I come in, I am getting a new stylist, and when I ask about the person that did my hair the previous month, I am told that they have moved on and are no longer working there. Since there is a high turn-around rate, it makes it difficult to build a relationship with someone that did a great job cutting your hair the previous month. Also, it seems that a lot of the newer stylists are fresh out of barber school. I have had instances where the person was slow and it took twice as long to cut my hair. As well, I hate that they use this small brush to wash your hair. I can see using that for someone that has dandruff, but for someone who doesn’t, the hairbrush is irritating and a little painful. In 2012, it was a great place to go. The staff was stable, and I was able to get a consistently good haircut on a regular basis. But in 2013, they seemed to have gone downhill. You can see that most of the reviews this year are from people using Groupons and getting their cuts at half the prices. For now they get 2.5 stars mainly for getting a good haircut. I just don’t feel with the high turn-around and getting a haircuts by junior level stylists, that it is worth the $ 28+ dollars for just the haircut. There are a few places in the area that you can get the same cut for half the price.

Bought a Groupon here. Was a bit hesitant but it turned out really well. They have different packages. Mine was the basic one that includes a cut, shampoo afterwards, hot towel and massage. Turned out great! Ask for Sandra. She really took care of me!

I have to say that I came into this place by other reviews here on Unilocal and through a referral. I LOVEDIT! I walked in and was greeted immediately and signed in for Brenda(whom I was told to get a cut by). I waited for about 10 minutes and then she walked me to her station which was clean and put together. She was nice and easy to talk to and gave me an awesome haircut. I loved the extra’s that you normally do not get at barber shops or salons… such as: hot towel wrap on your face while you are being shampooed immediately after your haircut. I loved the fact that you do not have to constantly move around the place because each station is set up to wash your hair right there. The barber chair was awesome and very comfortable as well. Brenda’s clippers and products were all clean and orderly and her station wasn’t all crazy looking with things everywhere. She recommended to purchase the Paul Mitchell Tea Tree Shampoo as they were having a sale and I purchased some.(good upsale Brenda) The entire environment was very clean, VERYCLEAN and put together well and everyone was professional. The front desk was nice and clean and in order and the restroom was nice and clean. I myself like to check out the restroom to a place. Why? Because anyone can come and go all day on any day and just get a haircut and the whole place can look nice for customers; but not all places have a nice clean restroom for employees or customers to use when needed. This place has a nice restroom! I have seen some horrible restrooms and I don’t visit places or spend money in places that have nasty dirty ones. If mine at home is clean, I expect to visit a clean one especially if I am spending money to be in your business and need to use it. $ 28 for a haircut is not too bad but the cut, shampoo, head massage and face wrap. Will I be back… yes I will… and for Brenda! Enjoy my pictures I posted…
