Food was a bit too pricy. It’s too oily and only nice thing was nice employees. Drinks tasted too sweet and needs to be more real.

Fantastic spot. Really good mixture of Hawaiian and Asian food. Gets a little packed due to the school but otherwise a locals favorite. Very spacious eatery and the staff is great. Very down to earth and easy going feel

Just not into the quality of the food. Service was fine and I know people like it but it’s not up to my standards.

This is my second time here. I don’t remember what my first experience was like because it was a couple years ago. But I first discovered this place because of ONE thing… **BOBA** Tonight, I ordered the #3 Hawaiian Plate; BBq chicken w/crispy shrimp. It comes with a side of white rice & a cold pasta salad, which was delicious! I had a coupon for a free Thai tea with a Hawaiian plate order over $ 7& after asking for boba, I was told they were out for the night(barely 7pm & they’re out?!?). The drink was free so it wasn’t a huge deal, but 4 stars to me, is that any place that serves boba & runs out that early dampens my overall experience :( Food was still good though, so other than the 10 – 15 minute wait for my food, I’ll still be back.

Decided to give this place a try for lunch, since there was no line, and I was in a rush. That should have told me everything I needed to know. I ordered a bowl with fried rice, teriyaki chicken and veggies. In a word: disgusting. I’m now praying that I don’t get sick! I threw more than half of it away. The rice was greasy, and the chicken was extremely fatty with tons of gristle and nasty parts left on that should’ve been cut away. Never, ever again.

I’ve been here a few times The last time I came in I was shocked by how rude the cashier was. Usually I never have had a problem here but the Hispanic chick that day was unfriendly. I have never met her before and she me I couldn’t order the Korean Ribs although I was willing to pay more. I have purchased them before and I know they were available. So instead, I went for the family package, which included three items, rice, and macaroni salad. For my three items, I wanted to add the Korean Ribs, but obviously the cashier wouldn’t allow. So I went for Teriyaki Chicken, BBQ Beef, and Jalapeño Chicken. All the meats were very tender and flavored well. They were cooked perfectly and all of them were juicy. My favorite was the BBQ beef. I like the marination of it. It was simple. The teriyaki chicken and japapeno was okay. I thought the jalapeño chicken included too much onions and peppers. It wasn’t spicy though. The rice was good and the macaroni salad tasted more like a tuna salad. You have been warned! It’s about $ 30 for the family meal and it feeds about 3 – 4 people. I think the pricing here is cheap and the portions are large. They also have boba for about $ 4 each but they are all more sweet than I prefer. No bad though. The frozen yogurt machine have been down for over a year or more. I have never seen them working. Their individual dishes all run about $ 7 – 9. The wait for your food can take awhile. The inside is very causal and is pretty large. Overall, it’s a good place to pick up a quick lunch or dinner.

I’m giving this place 5 stars because I can’t think of anything I disliked about it. Their menu isn’t overwhelming it’s actually really nice that they separate the Hawaiian food from the Chinese food menu so it’s a lot easier to browse. My friends and I tried both the Hawaiian and Chinese food and neither of them disappointed. Their Hawaiian food was actually a lot better than I expected. I haven’t been to many places that make it taste authentic. Everything tasted fresh, the place was clean, and the service was also good. Nothing to complain about. Definitely will be coming back.

This is good fast Chinese food. I always get the black pepper chicken and spice orange chicken(which isn’t that spicy). They are very generous with the portions. Overall a decent place, always clean and not too packed. Staff is friendly and quick. Give it a try.

Keep it short and real. the rice was just right. I’m a rice junky and if your bold enough to put rice on the menu, you better be able to do it right. the teriyaki chicken was pretty good, not the best I’ve had, but it would get done again, if I’m ever on this side of the country. Now the Orange Chicken was dayum sure tasty. it actually had a real orange flavor. alot of place advertise orange chicken, but it’s some kind of orange goo, that looks gold and old. this chicken was orange. i liked that and dayum, it was good. Nice ladies working behind the counter and clean restaurant = thumbs up.

Been waiting about 20 min for a small order of crab rangoons(3) — BBQ chicken salad, and spam masubi appetizer(2) and there was no one ahead of me. The place is empty and now I know why. What a waste of my time and $ Won’t be back Also $ 16.50 for a tiny amount of food Bummer You can’t win them all

Good food. I had both Hawaiian and Chinese. Chinese was better than the Hawaiian. Standard orange chicken. Good chow mein and rice. Great portions of spam in the moco, the gravy wasn’t really gravy. It wasn’t even brown. Green tea smoothie was awesome and the Thai tea was excellent.

I don’t know how else to put it. It’s not good food. You do get a lot of food for the money but what’s the point if most of it goes in the trash. I’m giving it 2 stars because it was convenient, employees are nice and my kids liked it… but they’re 3 and 7 and don’t know any better.

Right off the bat, the cashier was helpful and efficient. Their food is cooked fresh to order. I tipped them right away. The place looks clean! Bring your coupons, it saves you free combo and smoothie

I go here mostly for the Chinese food, and sometimes I’ll also get some boba milk tea or a smoothie. The food isn’t that great, but it is fast and cheap. I’ve tried their Hawaiian food and I would not recommend it. The quality of service has gone down in recent months. And on my last visit, it seems like they are eliminating the frozen yogurt. Not that I am a fro-yo fan, but just thought I’d throw it out there as an FYI in case anyone was hoping to get some frozen yogurt here.

I’m a bit confused. Is this a froyo place? Is this a steam table Chinese fast food take out? Is this a Hawaiian restaurant? I saw three names in the door, but two names on the street facing sign. I think the tenant(and maybe the landlord too) thought it would be cheaper to sign one lease instead of three leases. Which maybe it’s true, but when you sign only one lease, you generally only get one door. And right now, this place is short two doors. After i got over my initial confusion and figured out the reason I can’t stand straight is because the floor is greasy, I ordered a loco moco. Very disappointing. My food arrived in a styrofoam clamshell which I guess is the only choice here since I wasn’t asked if the order was for takeout. The beef patty was prefab and the gravy was prefab. At least the egg was not prefab because it arrived with one of the yolks broken. *sigh* My loco moco also came with a spinach/lettuce salad which seemed a bit odd because I don’t remember loco moco being served with a salad in Hawaii. I opted for the«Asian» dressing because the cashier said it was popular. The dressing was too salty, too sweet and spicy at the same time. Impressive, but for the wrong reasons. I suspect the dressing is prefab as well. At first I thought I should give one star since I felt I received a 3 star experience but really experienced only 1⁄3 of the location. But that seems a bit too harsh.

I ordered the Ice Blended Espresso Latte(with Boba and whipped cream), and to be honest, this drink doesn’t taste that bad. Sure, it’s not like 85ºC in Westminster/Irvine, but a medium at $ 3.95(without tax), it’s doable for me. :) The drink didn’t taste sweet, and the boba itself was chewy enough for my teeth to bite into. The service wasn’t too bad; pretty quiet, but hey, who’d order a caffeinated latte at 5:30 in the afternoon?

I ordered the BBQ chicken from the Young Hawaiian menu. Quite possibly the worst chicken I have ever eaten. It was so dried out and tough my dog wouldn’t eat it. It tasted like it was pre-cooked and reheated– about twenty times! I paid an extra dollar for white meat so this awful meal cost me $ 8.10. I plan on returning the uneaten portion just to see how they handle it. Wish me luck! Do yourself a favor– drive past this horrible place and continue to the HB Farmers Market(in the old Armstrong Nursery building) on Gothard. They have amazing Kabobs and their meat is Halal. Their #1 is a Chicken Kabob with rice and 2 sides for $ 7.99. It is amazing!

I was looking for King’s Pizza, but the restaurant was gone. Hungry I stopped into The restaurant. I wasn’t keen on writing a review, but after reading others, I had to write a more complete review. First of all this place has about everything. Chinese, Hawaiian plus smoothies and great looking yogurt offerings. I ordered a two item dish. Orange chicken and Teriyaki chicken, along with white and brown rice sides. The only negative remark is that the floor was sticky beneath my table. I assume it was residue left behind in the last cleaning. Service was excellent. Oh, and the missing King’s Pizza Restaurant, one employee explained the situation and said they moved into the shopping center located on the North East corner of the intersection.

***** This review is for«Young Hawaiian BBQ» ***** I don’t eat those«Panda Express» type Chinese food. I tried here just because«Pee Wee»(«hot dog/burger» place next door) was closed ;( — Locale Destination — It’s on Edinger Ave and Springdale St in Huntington Beach. It’s in a big shopping plaza, next to «Pee Wee’s Famous Hot Dogs and Hamburgers», facing Edinger Ave. It’s across street from«Marina High School». Obviously they offer Chinese and Hawaiian foods. Oh, they even have a «froyo licious»(frozen yogurt AND boba drinks) as well in the place! One place offers Chinese food, Hawaiian food, fro-yo, and boba drinks. «froyo licious» is located on the left side of store. They put«Chinese foods» in the warmer at the counter, and«Hawaiian foods» come from the kitchen in the back. Décor is pretty simple and casual. Decent amount of seating both inside and outside. Plenty of parking. They do have a bathroom — unlike«Pee Wee»… Service was very friendly. — Gluttony Expedition — Hawaiian BBQ plate: #2 Hawaiian combo. Beef was sweet and decent. Chicken was sweet and overcooked like everyone else. Korean short rib was a bit greasy and tough. Macaroni salad was bland. They make you choose 2 rice or 1 rice(scoop) and macaroni salad. Big portion. It’s a bit cheaper(probably by 50 cents) than«L&L», yet I prefer the one at «L&L» or «Maui Hawaiian BBQ». — Conqueror’s Deduction — Cheap and big portion meals with a decent quality(surprisingly) — that’s what kids at Marina High school want… Do I go back? Probably not ;p

The other day I stopped by China Bowl and Young Hawaiian BBQ to pick up some dinner for the family. It’s located in the Vons strip mall across the street from Marina High School. I wanted to try a variety of their items so I ordered: (1) Wonton Soup — $ 4.95 The soup had wontons, shrimp, chicken pieces, and veges. A lot of ingredients with a cheap price tag. (2) 2 Item Chinese Combination -$ 5.95 ½ Chow Mein, ½ Fried Rice, Spicy Orange Chicken, BBQ Pork. Nothing special and the spicy orange chicken tasted like it was sitting under that heat lamp too long. (3) Hawaiian BBQ Chicken/Short Ribs Plate — $ 8.95 My made to order plate came with 2 scoops of white rice and 1 scoop of macaroni salad. Macaroni salad was fine but my bbq chicken was kinda burnt and the bbq ribs were too salty… =( I really wanted to like this place but it was disappointing. Maybe, they need to specialize on one type of food. Offering good Chinese, Hawaiian, and frozen yogurt is difficult to achieve. I kinda felt like I was in a food court in a mall…“nothing special” with kids running around and touching everything in sight. The highlight of my experience was the very friendly service. 2 Stars
