My friends and I went here because one of our friends went to Vegan Nirvana, which is a couple of doors down, and we didn’t want vegan food. The Loft reminds me of L&Ls! It was good, but it wasn’t the best Hawaiin food or food in general. We each got a lunch special: smaller than the regular entrée size, doesn’t come with macaroni salad, but does come with a drink. It’s still a huge amount of food! There’s an overwhelming amount of cabbage salad, and I don’t know if this is a regular thing for them, but there are uncooked ramen bits in it here and there. They’re not completely dry because the dressing of the cabbage salad gets on it, but I was still confused. I tried my friend’s teriyaki chicken and it was alright – nothing special. I got the island style chicken lunch special. I’m not sure what makes it «island style» but I’m assuming it’s the fact that it, in a way, has a sweeter taste to it? It doesn’t taste like regular fried chicken. Regardless, it was pretty tasty. The cashier was nice! We didn’t explore the whole place, but downstairs is where you order and I guess the whole«loft» name comes into play when you go upstairs. I saw the couches and hairs from where I stood, so I wish I actually got to see the whole place.

Best Hawaiian restaurant outside the islands. I really like the teriyaki and salad. I been here with the homies and the Hawaiian pineapple juice is good and the cashier is hot!

spam musubi review. So so sad. Came in to statuary a quick spam musubi craving. Positives: –Came out quick –Good sauce Negatives: –Obviously microwaved, or it seems so to me… it was warm down to the wrap. — too little sauce and not an even spread throughout the spam musubi. First couple bites had no sauce and towards the end there was some, it would’ve been better if there was more. — rice consistency was either too soft from being microwaved too long or else undercooked. — spam was uneven. The first couple bites were thick but by the end it was about half the size.

Decent Hawaiian plates that are fairly authentic. Interesting fact: they make their own katsu sauce.(although they only have chicken katsu, not tonkatsu) The seating is sort of limited, and I did run into some trouble trying to navigate my grandmother’s wheelchair inside at all to check out the menu. Our only option for seating was outside. Having said that, expect your typical HUGE Hawaiian style servings, and some genuinely decent food.

What a great little nook to have a great lunch! The oc loft express offers a smaller menu, but offered everything I love about the loft! Fast, convenient, and friendly service! A great dining area about the restaurant with a great view, and lots of tvs! It’s a great combo of comfortable, highly recommend!!!

Customer service is okay at best. The chicken was dry with too much super sweet teriyaki sauce. Not much seating. Def don’t recommend.

Legit Hawaiian food. There is always a TON in the serving, so share with your bestie. My pal and I always get the katsu plate with bacon fried rice(mmmm bacon) and it’s good stuff! But the service is what really stands out. Nadia works there and remembers our order every time(we come here 3 – 4 times a year, so not like we are regulars). But somehow, she knows we like to split the katsu plate and separate the cabbage salad. She always serves with a smile and is very attentive running up and down the stairs for our every whim. There is a young man that works the front desk too that is super friendly. So, owner/manager if you are reading this: they are fantastic, real assets!

I’ve been driving by this place often like a stalker. Well I finally got to try it. I use to live in Hawaii so I love Hawaiian food. It’s very heavy though. Large portions. I did enjoy the food. They have other stuff I want to try. The macaroni salad is really good. I like this place better than LL

Service was great and friendly, though they did take a long time on the phone and didn’t help us. The food tasted good, the chicken was to chewy so that ruined it. Teriyaki sauce was very delicious. Overall 4 stars.

Came in looking for some good Hawaiian food and was disappointed because it wasn’t good, it was great!!! Omg my mouth has been taken to the islands themselves! I had the Kalbi which is like Korean short ribs on top of rice and a side of ramen coleslaw and the best macaroni salad I have ever had!!! My boyfriend had the Korean beef which is like mine but without the bone! Must come in and try it out! You won’t be disappointed!!!

It’s not bad, but it’s not great either. We came here after a day at the beach and the service was excellent. But the food was typical Hawaiian fair! I’m not a big fan of Hawaiian food, but if you want a place and want it quick. This is the place. It’s small and the layout is awkward. You buy food and go up to the second floor.

The first time I tried this place it was bacon fried rice for a party at work. It was so good I had to go back! Today I went and ordered the Ohana size bacon fried rice and grilled teriyaki chicken for the family and it was yummy! It’s not cheap but the portions were big. I saw a few people that came in were not happy about the service. Some people waited a long time for food because they forgot to give it to them, calls were put on hold and forgotten about, but the girl who helped me was new and very nice the person training her was making her nervous. The girl was super sweet though, and apologized for being confused about what to do. I am patient and did not mind. My food was done in 20 minutes and it was worth it. I will be coming back soon for our next work party or just for family meal.

Haven’t been here in a few years for no other reason than laziness. Dropped in today for lunch and it is as great as ever. Korean BBQ beef for me with only cabbage slaw.(Piled high) Excellent.

After going to the Lakewood location, I found this location closer to home. I ordered the same thing that I did at the Lakewood location, chicken katsu plate, but something was off. The taste was different than the other location, the chicken tasted dry, the ramen cabbage salad didn’t have much dressing and the macaroni salad tasted bland. Don’t get me wrong, the portions are huge but taste-wise, not so good. I’d rather take the drive down to Lakewood instead.

Today something was wrong with the food. The server was helpful and welcoming. We ordered the Cha Siu Chicken plate, and the Teriyaki Beef with cabbage salad. The meat was tasteless and tasted old. The cabbage salad was not finely shredded… it had big chunks of unprocessed cabbage in it. The food tasted like the cook did not care at all about the quality of what he /or she was presenting to the customer. This is so disappointing. The Loft used to be one of my favorite places.

Bacon fried rice makes it more delicious! Two beef entrée combo $ 12.95 plus a small upgrade for the bacon fried rice. The Loft Express is a convenient mini-version to the regular Loft in Cypress. Friendly service and the food is tasty!

Was really looking forward to eating a spam musubi only to be completely disappointed by the lack of flavor and meat. If I knew I was going to be eating a rice-ball wrapped with seaweed, I would just order a side of rice. Much cheaper. The spam was cut so thinly I had to look really hard to find it. Unfortunately, it was a take out order and I didn’t get a chance to go back so they can remake it. They were nice enough to give me some teriyaki sauce on the side so I could dip my rice ball for more flavor. Not worth the money.

The Loft used to be the only Hawaiian food place in HB. Then L & L came into town, and most recently Da Hawaiian. I had not been to the Loft in a while, and after I ate, I wish I had not returned. Unfortunately, The Loft has gone downhill. The fried chicken doesn’t have much marinade as evidenced by the chicken being too white on the inside. It used to have a nice mirin flavor. In addition, the teri chicken is also not marinated beforehand: Basically grilled chicken w/teri sauce on top. Additionally, their signature bacon fried rice doesn’t have a «wow» factor any more. It also has a lot less bacon. Lastly, they don’t have mahi mahi or salmon on the menu any longer: Weak!!! I won’t be coming back here,(or L & L) for Hawaiian food any longer. Both have become mediocre chain places that don’t deserve my business.

Weekday Lunch Specials Mon-Fri until 2pm: $ 5.98 choose from Islands style fried chicken, Korean BBQ chicken or grilled chicken teriyaki and includes rice, ramen cabbage salad and 20oz fountain drink. I ordered the Korean BBQ chicken lunch special to go. I was told it would ready in about 10 minutes and was handed the cup for my drink while I waited. When I got around to eating my lunch 10 minutes later, I found one piece of chicken was still raw. I immediately picked up my phone and gave them a call. I spoke with the girl that took my order and she was very apologetic. She told me to give her my name and that the next time I came in, my lunch order would be free. I was able to stop by the same day after work, since it was close by. I explained who I was to the girl and she again apologized. She took my new order as male worker came out to apologize as well. I’m a pretty easy going person, so I was annoyed about the raw chicken, but not to the point of being a total B about it, so the apology and replacement of my meal was just fine by me. I go my new food, checked it out before I left and thanked the girl for being on it. Stuff happens and how you handle the situation will determine if you’ve lost me as a customer and the recommendations that I would pass along. The LOFT staff handled the situation with sincerity and rectified the situation to this customer’s satisfaction. So, would I go back again? Yes, I would. And have.
