No flavor in my bbq chicken. Teri beef was dry and bland. Really disappointed. I love L & L’s but this place was garbage.

I love this place, and I’ve been eaten me here since late 2011. I always get the chicken katsu medium sized with a grilled spam musubi on the side. Love love love the food here. The restaurant is always clean, the portions are great and the service is super friendly! I will continue to enjoy the food at this establishment.

I used to make a bad habit out of coming to L&L at least two times a week, but I’ve toned it down to just a few times a month. I can’t say I’ve experienced much of their menu, so my review might not hold much weight to it. My typical order is the regular sized BBQ chicken, which comes with two scoops of rice, a scoop of mac salad and a bed of cabbage — I like to order extra cabbage, it pairs nicely with the layers of grilled chicken thighs. I’m a fan of dark meat, so this is a pretty sweet combination of food and it is literally soooo much food. I can make two meals from my leftovers for a work lunch or a fried rice. I’ve tried the katsu chicken, which is pretty darn crispy and good from what I’ve been told by people that love katsu chicken. I’ve also had the mixed BBQ meal, which has an explosion of deliciously grilled meats. I personally think that the big pull is how well the meat is cooked and that the portions are hearty for your price; they also provide fun staples for fans of Hawaiian food and beverages. Pro-tip for flavor haters: the meats are gently seasoned, so I highly recommend some of their teriyaki sauce. If you look to your left, across from the cash register, you’ll see the pump machine. Also… sriracha :) I can’t remember her name, but there is one particular lady who is almost always there when my boyfriend and I come in… SHEISAWESOME!

My teammates and I went to L&L for lunch after the Surf City Marathon. The service was great, the food was delicious, and the portions were huge! Definitely some of the best Hawaiian BBQ I have ever had, and I know my teammates would agree!

I’ve been eating here for quite some time L&L Hawaiian BBQ is definitely the most delicious tasting Hawaiian BBQ I’ve ever tasted and they have great prices. Excellent customer service very super friendly I absolutely love this place. the restaurants is always clean. I always get the chicken katsu with rice and macaroni salad the portions are great no matter if you get the regular one or the mini one. I called one day over the phone to place an order for pickup she told me my food would be ready within 15 minutes and it was. I recommend this place to anyone.

I had L&L catered for a lunch in at work! Good was absolutely delicious! They packed the food into the trays very wel so there was plenty for everyone! And They provided plenty of sauces! We ordered the food a couple days before and they were able to accommodate! Food was well organized and sealed tight in the containers for travel! Everyone at work loved the food! Deft will have to cater again!!! Love that place! Owner is very sweet and professional!

Came in about 15BEFORE it was 9:00pm which is when they«close» and was told that they weren’t open. I had mentioned that it wasn’t 9:00pm yet and that’s when they closed and the girl said«sorry, we’re closed. He still has to clean the grill.» What kind of customer derive is that? If you want to close before 9:00pm then change your hours. They’re only losing money by denying customers BEFORE they are closed. They didn’t seem sorry about it either. I will definitely not be back to this location and I will definitely be calling in to speak to the manager about this. It is obvious that they don’t care about the customers.

While the cashier was pleasant, and we were able to walk right up with no line, the food/experience was not worth the price. For a $ 20 lunch, the beef, shrimp, and pork was mediocre at best. The macaroni was simply noodles and mayonnaise. And the wontons were extremely small. The ambience wasn’t fantastic either. The employees were just standing around talking when we walked in. The background music turned off halfway through our meal and no one turned it back on. And we really didn’t feel like we were welcomed as patrons. I will be finding a better hawaiian bbq place to go.

Had to wait 30 mins for food and when it came it had small portions. While waiting for my food I saw three people come back because their order was wrong. The ice machine was broken and dirty no one came to fix it. The spam musubi did not look right and fell apart when I unwrapped it. I would not recommend this place to anyone

I normally go to the aloha bbq in Tustin but decided to give this place a try. I ordered the chicken katsu and it was not good. It tasted like regular fried chicken. I was unimpressed with the macaroni salad as well. Only giving 2 stars because I appreciated the service.

This is a go to spot if you are wanting Hawaiian food. They have everything plus the Hawaiian Sun sodas. Its close to what you get in Hawaii, is fast, and good prices. Highly recommended!

Great employees and food but the manager was very abrasive while I was ordering and made the experience uncomfortable. Cut the cashier off as she was talking, could hear him nagging while I was eating, very displeased with my lunch):

Special shout out to the cashier, Jessica! Long line tonight of both in-person and phone orders. She was the only working the front. And she was still so sincerely polite to both the customers and cooks in the back. I waited like 10 mins and witnessed what great service is supposed to be! Love this LnL!

I usually love L&L but the whole point is the sauce. Unfortunately this place doesn’t make their sauce like every other location. There is no flavor, it tastes like very watered down soy sauce. I Didn’t get to try the Katsu as they forgot to include it in my to-go order so I guess I’ll never know. On top of that, usually you can count on getting a really good portion of the sides with your food. SADLY this place skimped on the macaroni salad and I only ordered a MINI!! Just go to any other location or u may be disappointed…

The wait was long. Seats were not as plentiful as I would love hoped. Seats on the round table were uncomfortable so I ended up just standing while eating haha. I ordered the regular chicken Katsu here. It came out to around $ 9. I wasn’t a big fan of the sauces. Both teriyaki and Katsu sauces were not all that great compared to other places. The rice was decently portioned. Lots of chicken so that’s a plus. Macaroni salad was prob my favorite but it was such a small portion. I’ll prob end up going to ALOHA Hawaiian BBQ next time. They serve salad with my meal and also give me bigger portions when it comes to the macaroni salad. Sauces are also better. Nothing wrong with this place. Just not my ideal Hawaiian BBQ joint.

I LOVE L&L SOMUCH. I am always craving their Spam Musubi. Their Chicken Katsu is very delicious as well. Their prices are very reasonable and the portions are pretty big. Anything on the menu is good. They have kind employees and their bathroom is nice as well. Definitely worth a try if you’ve never heard of them before.

Portions are smaller and quality of meat has gone down. I used to love L&L but haven’t been too pleased with my last few visits. During my last visit, I got the mix plate with bbq short ribs and kahlua pork. The short ribs were extremely fatty and looked very low quality. Kahlua pork was fine but needed more flavor and was mainly cabbage. If I had to recommend anything, I’d say stick with their bbq chicken or chicken katsu. They give you a lot less meat than what you get at comparable Hawaiian restaurants tho. Even the scoops of rice and macaroni salad have gotten smaller… :(

Great portions for the price. Regular Hawaiian food. Meets expectations for a chain type store. Macaroni salad is bomb and I’m not a big fan of macaroni salad in general. Katsu sauce is pretty good. Spam musubi is solid for $.99 on Tuesdays. Saimin noodles are just okay but can hit the spot for a cheap meal. They carry Hawaiian sun drinks and Sobe. Definitely not the best of quality but good bang for your buck!

Horrible. Over cooked. Bad flavors. Ramen Burger? Pure crap. The service was good, very welcoming, but bad portions, just disgusting, and overpriced. We threw out what we bought and ordered take out.
