El Pollo Loco

My complaints about Pollo Loco are: The chickens they use are SMALL. Really a rip off. They do not even use adult chickens. Also, its a crap shoot whether you get moist, freshly made chicken, or you get dry chicken that has been sitting there for a while. Also, a long long time ago, I came back to return chicken that I was disappointed with, and the manager gave me a hard time because the food I returned was partially eaten!!! What RETARDS! After that insulting experience, I boycotted this store for years. I do not remember small chickens being used in the past. But now greed has set in. Also, their tortillas could be much better, and their sides are nothing to write home about. My recommendation now BY FAR is CHARO CHICKEN! LARGE chickens, SUPERB RECIPE AND PREPARATION, GREAT TORTILLAS, GREAT GUACAMOLE. CHARO CHICKEN IS THE BEST CHICKEN IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA. I have tried a lot of places.

This Mexican restaurant is really going down hill! 3^rd time I have visited it with my husband and we both were very dissatisfied. Their chicken looks like it suffers from malnutrition. Very tasteless and dried.
Very, very disappointed! We will never waste our hard earned money going there ever again!
Gosh, if you look at their commercials and look at the chicken they are serving you would be blown away! Talk about misrepresentation !!

This place has lost its spark. Since the original manger left and the put in this new hit this place has gone down. People aren’t friendly they don’t get ether orders right. The old manger even took the time to learn my name. Now they don’t even say hi, there is this new guy there and the the coworkers are always getting on him for not getting things right in front of the customers. For me that is on called for. Take the time to train him and guide him. I’m not to sure about this place

I waited in the drive threw way to long. Got to the window and girl was rude. I got home and crunchy taco was so cold it could not be eaten. So I called and asked for the manager and I got the phone dropped in my ear, when she came back I explained the situation and she did not offer me anything no I’m sorry come back nothing. And the 2 tortilla rolls that have chicken in them are way over seasoned that I can’t even eat… This place used to be good. I encourage you to go else where…

Our drive through order is ALWAYS wrong at this location. Today there is no chicken unless u want to wait 25 minutes but we are stuck in the drive through unable to get out of line! How does a chicken place run out of chicken or not have any chicken cooked? Weird! 7:15pm Sunday night???

I’ve been to this location a couple of times and they always have a long wait. 15 mins average for drive thru. What’s up with that. I’ve also gotten there special chicken bowl and they messed up and gave me a lesser one everytime so I stopped ordering it.

This is the best run Pollo Loco in the area. The managers and staff are consistently the friendliest we’ve ever seen. They go out of their way to make sure customers are happy. Other Pollo Locos could learn from the guy who runs this place — «Arturo.» The place is busy — it’s the best/​healthiest «fast food» on this end of Beach Blvd. You have to go outside) after asking for a key) to use the rest room and the sign for the restaurant is sometimes hard to see from road, but it’s only because of the small size and location of the facility. We usually eat here a couple times a month. It’s always a good deal when we’re in a hurry.

Normally I don’t review what I consider fast food places but I had to give props to Arturo the manager. What a really nice and friendly member. He greeted everyone that entered in a very friendly way and always had a big smile and tried to make sure everyone got their orders right. Very warm and welcoming.

Consistent great food. Very friendly staff as well. My go to is the Spicy Chipotle Burrito.

Come here a couple times a week for dinner and there always fast and very polite. The food is very tasteful and has good portions.

I can’t believe year after year this place gets worse. I don’t remember a time my order was all in the bag or prepared right. I would be ashamed to be the owner of this spot. Good food and workers are nice just nothing is ever right. This would be like the 10^th or so time in a row.

I have said over and over again that I would critic this EL Pollo Loco. I have NEVER been there (busy or slow) that their manger and staff are always the very best. They greet you with a smile and if busy always apologize for the wait… The food is outstanding and by far the best fast food establishment in the area. I hope that everyone of them will be promoted or at a minimum teach others to be customer focus. Bravo to your staff.

Great staff. I was honestly happy to be in there. All the staff was super happy and managers great. There was one that was there today 4÷20÷15 at 7:15pm he was talking to all customers and being nice. Loved it

I love El pollo Loco, but sadly we have stopped going. The one on Beach Blvd is closest to our house, and the other locations are far. I have been going here for 5 years… And although the food is ok, they have NEVER, and I literally mean NEVER have gotten my order correct. I usually go thru the drive thru. Every Time my order is missing items, they mess it up and not put everything in there, and sometimes I’m already home. and It’s never in my favor, my order is always missing items that of course they charge me for. Also, they never get the modifications right either. I say no beans, I get beans, I want extra guacamole, I get no guacamole at all. The workers are just not on the ball. The ordering speaker is jacked up. hard to hear well, its full of static and they can barely hear you as well. And It’s been that way for as long as I can remember. I tried going inside to place my orders, they still got it wrong and forgot items. They always short you. If you call they offer nothing to make the situation right. I reached my breaking point. I’m done! One or twice I can forgive, but every time is not acceptable. I have a hungry family at home, and I can’t have my family sharing small BRC burritos for dinner because they only put one in the bag!

Standard el pollo loco. By standard, I mean GOOD. This is one of the few chain places I’ll go to for grilled chicken, or chicken of any kind for that matter. 3 piece combo or something from their newer low cal menu is what I usually go for. ADDICTED to the Mexican Caesar dressing; I use it on the chicken as well as the salad! Staff here is extremely friendly so you’ll have a good experience.
Note:
I only gave ⁴⁄₅ because I’ve been an el pollo loco patron for years so it’s just normal for me to eat here when I want chicken. This isn’t a random, 5 star «I’m blown away» review.

Last night I was here and I just wanted to say the customer service here was great!!!

I have been coming here for a couple years and the costumer service is always so great but by the time i get my food i want to go home. There were several nice employees that kept a conversation going WHILE they were working, Cleaning, sweeping etc. They also suggested some VERY good meals. I got the chicken avocado burrito because Kay had said it was her favorite and most popular and that the avocado was freshly sliced that day. Steven suggested the 2 piece combo for my husband about a month ago. I was in the Drive through tonight and was disappointed. The burrito was cold and the 2 piece didn’t have a tortilla. The drive through speaker was also very VERY low. A couple days ago a man over the speaker was very rude and i drove off in utter disappointment.
The reason for the 3 stars is because the cashiers in front are great and should always keep up the fantastic work!

Better than Del Taco, but still your average fast food «Mexican» cuisine.
