Great find! I’m a huge fan of Blaze Pizza and Pizza Studio, but MOD may be my new go-to! The prices are super reasonable considering how many toppings you can get, and I love the thin crust. However, I do wish there were more types of red sauce and different types of crust! It’d be great if they had a spicier sauce that was a bit more flavorful. Overall, though, this is a great place to eat with your friends and family!

I know there are a bunch of these types but this one has a great location, nice staff, and a fast moving line. One time my pizza got mangled in the oven. They made me a new one, gave me a drink, and gave me the messed up one too and I never even asked for any of that. Seriously… you earned my business right there and I want them to know that it worked. I’ve told many people since then. One little gesture leads to much more business. So I’m telling you that HB Mod Pizza is awesome. Killer lemonade too.

Best fresh salads and pizza in Huntington Beach! I come here three days a week and get something different every time I come! And the caramelized pear ice tea is amazing too!

What’s not to love? Build your own pizza with as much and as many ingredients as you like?

The pizza concept is pretty much spot on like the Pile-it-On Pizza at Bella Terra on Edinger and Beach, so I don’t have much to say about this location except MOD has a chewier crust than PiO, so sorry, PiO-Pizza; I’m giving the dibs to MOD. The staff was really friendly, and you have a variety of toppings to choose from spicy Italian sausage to artichoke hearts to even sun-dried tomatoes and hot peppers. They have quite a few locations as far as SoCal is concerned, even though this place was established up in Washington state. I love everything about this place… almost. Easy to order, cheap, friendly and very efficient staff. But I hate the pizza. The ingredients are good quality, and you can’t complain about the toppings since you have total control of the pie. But, the crust sucks. Thin enough to bake quickly makes for a very fast-food pizza. The end result is a cracker more than a crust. It’s just not satisfying to me. I’d rather wait 15 minutes for a more hearty crust. Still a fun place but I’m just not a fan of the pie.

Nice Place, Pleasant Staff, Good Presentation, BUTNO. NOTGOOD. SORRY. But one more time not good and I would not go back. It’s a Saturday night and I feel robbed of my cheat meal… LoL I’m saying if you’re reading this go to Blast 825 Pizza. The pizza was so good I did not leave there thinking about wanting to complain so fast.

I love diy pizza places. This store is in the same plaza as Albertsons and Staples. Plenty of seats compared to some other diy pizza places so good for groups. So. if this were the only diy pizza place then i would give it 4 stars but comparing to BLAZE, Pile it on Pizza, Pieology, i give it 3 stars because it offers fewer choices in toppings and less in quantity for about the same price. They do offer various drink choices such as milk shakes, homemade lemonade, teas. I do like that they offer various sizes in pizza esp. If u have kids who want to create their own, but i would always get the bigger one so i can have delicious leftovers. Yum!

Mod is starting to be my favorite create your own pizza place. This location is great, very nice staff and so many topping choices. I love that you can get several different sizes for the pizzas as well as the salads, depending on how hungry you are, a mini with a salad is plenty and the prices are more than fair as well. Ingredients are fresh, crust and sauces are good, worth checking out while in the area!

Build your own ! Nice to see all the toppings when making your choices. Crust was thin, crispy and served up fast with a cold draft beer in a clean place. Pizza was delicious, not much not to like here!

There are lots of places like this in the OC, as well as Los Angeles, and anywhere else that is hip. All where you build your own pizza. But this place is just a little hipper. It draws a younger crowd and it feels more happening than most of the other similar joints. Expect pre-designed Pizzas to have funky names and a mix of contrasting ingredients. But there is no charge for extra ingredients, so you can build any kind of monstrosity that you want to. And my monstrosity was delicious.

Another quick-serve pizza restaurant. Their fate is typical for this type of restaurant. The ingredients are good quality. Sauce is average. The only problem is the crust, the quick serve just can’t replicate the slower hand made crust. This visit was on New Year’s Eve and service seemed slower than normal. The restaurant was quite busy, and seemed understaffed.

I really like these chain style subway-like pizza places. This place is just as good as every other place I’ve been to. Only difference, they also serve beer! And craft beer not that Budweiser crap. So approved! Put as much on your pizza as you want and even ask for them to leave it in the oven longer so it gets a bit burnt and they’ll totally accommodate you.

First time here and had an enjoyable experience. Awesomely friendly staff and the food was light but filling. Oh you have to try the Marion Berry drink! We drank gallons of the stuff lol. Loved the Kasey pizza and the salad hit the spot. Check the place out. Who doesn’t love unlimited toppings =)

I think this is my new favorite«design your own pizza» place! In fact, I’d say I like MOD Pizza better than Pizza Rev and Pieology! Why? The crust. Wood-fire, thin enough and crispy, it was the perfect trifecta that partied on in my mouth. Comparably priced to all the other DIY pizza houses, MOD also offers beer/wine, salads, and shakes. I dunno about ordering a shake with my pizza, but at least I know I have that choice. I ordered one of their«Squad Favorites», the Valencia. I couldn’t find it on their menu, but from memory(and from the photos I took) it had a white sauce base, moz cheese, chorizo, red onion slices, tomato, cilantro, a lemon slice, and was topped off with a «Sri-Rancha» finishing sauce. It was spicy and divine. Since it was only my first visit, I intend to go back and actually create my own pizza – give me all the roasted garlic, artichoke hearts, and olives please! Looking forward to my next visit(and the ensuing stomachache that all the garlic will do to me – no regrets)!

I came here for the grand opening and the 1st52 in line got a free pizza. Pros: –The pizza was huge, they didn’t overload the ingredients, but could’ve been a bit more generous since there was a gap of inch of just crust on each pizza, not sure if it’s part of their way of making it. –The sauces were really savory, better than Blaze and Pieology(bland in comparison to MOD). –I adore their Caramel Pear Ice tea. SOOOO good. –Once inside, it was smooth, and well run. Everyone was helpful, smiling and checked up on us several times. –The proceeds from the sale for the time went to a charity so that was great. –I am so impressed with their swag. Got a hat and a frisbee for the boy and a BOGO coupon to come back. –The service was great, one of the servers noticed my toddler wasn’t eating and gave us mozzarella for him to snack on in a cup. –Pricing is definitely fair for the size(a bit larger than Blaze and about the same as Pieology. –Seating was easy and they have a lot of baby highchairs. –There was a cute photobooth in the back that the kiddos had fun in. Cons: –They took way too long to get us inside and there was absolutely no shade out front while waiting, they ran about 30 mins late from the advertised opening time so it was like 1 hour in the hot sun. –The crust is kinda chewy like a pita bread, even though it’s thin crust, I prefer Blaze’s or my absolute favorite pizza spot, The Pizza Press. Their crusts are far more crunchy, charred a little, and holds the ingredients better. –The cups are small and I needed to get up several times to refill, and it looks like everyone else did so too as there was a line to the soda/condiment station continuously. –There was a lot of confusion as to what a pizza salad vs a salad was. Conclusion: I would go back if I was in the area and recommend it to my friends.

Mod originated from Bellevue, Washington and on 8 – 31 it was their Grand Opening. Before the door opened, we saw a whole bunch of Assistance League ladies inside taking pictures. Not that it has anything to do with this, but it was like like a Betty White Convention, but only younger. I also met Chris, one of the managers for the Laguna location, passionately talking about the food and beer here. Yes, he is right. The toppings here is ridiculously fresh. I purposely did a make your own 11″ pizza. They are all $ 7.87 here unless you get the gluten free option or the bigger size. I got basil at the end of the pizza and let me tell you, some of these Chipotle pizza place couldn’t get that right! Fortunately for MOD, this little topping makes me happy. The basil wasn’t bruised and it was plenty. Not like just a sliver. Seriously, when did basil become an expensive topping? I was happy I got plenty here. What also made me really happy is the dough here. It is crunchy and chewy at the same time. Not like the cookie crunchy that I get at some of their competitors that tastes like pre-made dough. I can officially say I love this place! They have traditional and untraditional sauces and toppings here. Oh, and manager Chris said they make the roasted garlic daily here! I can attest to the freshness since I had a whole bunch on my pizza! You can make your own or pick from an assortment of favorites. Take a look yourself here. They gave out some drawing freebies for customers on the grand opening day. I was able to get a free pizza card. So, I’m happy to be back and share it with the kids. Seating inside is plenty. They are supposed to serve beer and wine here as well. Sorry to the other pizza place across the lot, this place at Seacliff Village is quite good. Note: Mod will open Culver City location soon.

Today is their official opening day, and our experience was great even amid the commotion and crowds. The employees are VERY friendly. We also met the social media man, Chris, who is quite personable and helpful. An 11″ pizza with unlimited toppings costs under $ 8 which is extremely fair, especially for a lunch meal. They also offer a 6″ mini size for under $ 5, as well as salads, pizza with salad on top, cinnamon strips, and garlic strips. There are so many variations of everything from sauces to types of meat and dressings. I went with the mixed red and white sauce, but it didn’t do much for me so I would just stick to the red sauce next time. I had to ask for more of most ingredients, especially the cheese, but I understand that they don’t know how many toppings I am going to add and thus don’t want to overload it. So go ahead and ask for more if you’re not going to weigh your pizza down. The thin crust held up really well to the toppings, no flopping at all! The cheese also tasted very fresh. MOD offers some unique beverage options such as Caramelized Pear Iced Tea and Marion Blackberry Lemonade. Shakes and floats are available to accompany your pizza as well. It takes about 5 minutes to cook before it comes out of the wood-fired oven. In fact, ours was ready before we even finished paying. Overall a great, affordable and filling addition to the Seacliff Center.
