I called last week for a same-​day appointment and they were able to schedule me for an hour and a half later. Awesome. This was my first time here and I was lucky enough to get Ashytn to do my hair. She is very sweet and professional. It’s difficult to find a good stylist and I think I found one: Ashtyn! :)
Can’t wait to go back! I’m sure she’ll amaze me again. :)

Love this place! John is the one to go to, he gives you exactly what you are expecting. I am very picky about who does my hair and I started going to John 3 years ago and haven’t gone to anyone since!

I have been coming here on and off for about 6 years, and have had mixed feelings. But when my grandmother needed a last minute wash and perm. They were so accommodating and friendly. She has memory problems, and that definitely wasn’t a problem for them!
I also made a last minute appointment for 15 minutes after I called, and were great. Cut, color… I love it!
Very clean!
I give it 4 stars because the music was too loud and obnoxious.
I usually get the stylist who is available at the time of booking, which I don’t mind. But that comes with its downsides. But I have always loved the outcome even though the experience has been agitating in the past.

All the staff here is ALWAYS friendly! I always come here to see my favorite hair stylist, Michael Bufty!

I love my girl Sarah, I’ve have had one complaint since I started coming to her a couple years ago or so. She is kind and very sweet, as well.
She is great with color!!!
The salon looks great but, the receptionists they hire are quite full of themselves and seem arrogant, it’s very off putting. I won’t go through the receptionist to make an appt, I go through Sarah herself.
There was a girl that works there walking around with a scowl on her face, I asked what her name was, it’s Denise. She might think of another line of work, she doesn’t look like a people pleaser at all, you need to be in this line of work. She looks like a complete and utter bitch.

Lisa Livingstone has such knowledge about up to the minute hair care. The Brazilian blowout she gave me lasted and the color she chooses suits me. She really tailors the cuts and color just for you.
Besides her skills, she is so sweet. I love spending time with her!

I felt like getting my hair done at the last minute on Christmas Eve, so I decided to see if they had any appointments because I’ve seen their sign advertising blow outs when I drive by. Lucky for me, Paul had availability so I popped over a couple hours later. He was friendly, awesome at washing hair, and did a great job with my hair. It’s impossible to get a last minute appointment at my regular place, so it’s nice to know I have another nearby option and I don’t have to trek all the way to Newport for The Dry Bar. It’s the same price: $ 45.

I have been going to Anne for almost 10 years for cut and color and have been extremely happy with her. First of all, she listens to what I want, makes helpful suggestions to improve on my ideas and then does EXACTLY what we discussed. Right now I am growing my hair out from a short cut and I trust Anne to not cut too much or try to convince me a certain style would be better. I am not a big fan of hair salons in general — I find most of them loud and I get claustrophobia. Anne knows this and has helped make accommodations to make the experience more relaxing. She is a smart, funny and overall genuine person so it is a pleasure to talk to her.
I also get my eyebrows done by Bonnie. After years of very unhappy eyebrow experiences, I feel like Bonnie is the absolute best. She does not overdo it and I end up with natural looking brows that I received compliments on pretty much every day. (I tell them to check out Salon Ambience!) Best of all, Anne and Bonnie almost always figure out a way for me to get both in at one appointment, fitting in the eyebrows while I am waiting for the color to set.
Salon Ambiance is not big, but the mood is very laid back. The stylists treat their customers like friends. The staff is also very friendly and accommodating. It’s very clean and professional — definitely a salon you will want to return to. Some people have said it is expensive. I pay $ 90 for cut and full color, which I think is a fair price considering the location.

LISA L. is THE BEST! I am addicted to getting my hair done. I used to have a friend who does hair out of her home do my hair b/​c I was never into going to ‘the salon’. The staff is very friendly and it’s fun to see the same stylists in the salon. Seems like everyone is happy and the clients walking out always look GREAT! Back to Lisa… I dislike sitting in the salon chair but her ability to work with my amount of hair in the time she does is unheard of. I have been to several other salons, stylists and it’s not even close. Not to mention her meticulous color weaving and PERFECT blowouts. I would get my hair done weekly with her if I could. I may regret saying this but I think she should charge more for her talent.

A year from this, I realize that he absolutely FRIED my hair. Originally, he told me that the reason why I couldn’t brush through my hair whenever it was wet was because bleaching hair adds more texture. That was wrong. All of my hair and especially the front pieces were completely over processed. My hair has continuously broken off and gotten shorter. I’ve had to cut off over 6 inches and it’s at my shoulders as a result. AWFUL.

Really unhappy with the job Bailey did, My daughter and I needed our Make-​up and hair done. the make-​up artist was superb, somewhere their wires got crossed and they didn’t have us down for color and haircuts/​style along with make-​up. I had to stop Bailey twice from making my daughter look like a marm and myself well I could have done better using my feet. It was over priced for what we walked out with.

I’ve been going to Lisa for years and even though I live in San Francisco now I still make the trek for her… I absolutely love her work and no other stylist I’ve seen has ever come to her level of skill.
I trust her fully and wholeheartedly to do amazing work and always leave feeling like a million bucks!

Bailey is a color wizard! I had a hair emergency and called Salon Ambiance for help. Bailey saw me for a color consultation and did a beautiful color correction and an intense conditioning treatment. I left the salon with beautiful highlights and shiny locks. Bailey really knows what she’s doing!

I booked an appointment with Lisa L. after reading her bio. I came to her after having a really bad experience at another salon (Let’s just say my hair was fried) But Lisa has brought my hair back to life! She specializes in hair extensions and color. I have been to every salon in HB, and I am telling you this girl is awesome! Salon Ambiance is pristine, and the people there are so nice and attentive to their clients.

By far the Best experience I’ve had at a Hair Salon. Sopi is the famous Certified Colorist who understands and will work on your hair color that will not fade not destroy your hair. She’s professional, courteous and sweet. I’ve also worked with Rob who does by Blow Drying– he’s quick, creative and fabulous.
The salon is clean, full of great energy and conveniently located in Huntington Beach. I met the owner at a Professional Networking Event and I described my problem with my old stylist. He understood my situation and refer me to Sopi.

I have been going to Salon Ambiance for a few months now because John was highly recommended to me. I was really happy with my previous hair professional, but John is on another level. He does great men’s cuts, listens to what look you are going for and then delivers it every time. I have heard he does amazing women’s cuts and Brazilian blow outs (which I still dont fully understand) as well.
I love the level of service and the prices are great too. Sopi is wonderful as well. Thanks guys!

ASK FOR DENISSE!!! I loved this place, very welcoming. The Hair Dresser that helped me out was Denisse, I already had very non noticeable high lights in my hair and a funny red undertone with brown. My hair just didn’t make any sense! She did a nice balayage and gave me a legit hair cut. I love my new hair color and I’ve had compliments on my new hair color and hair cut. & despite the fact she was working with bleach, she did the best she could to keep damage to its minimum. Actually it doesn’t feel dry or damaged! I’m so happy and I can not wait to go back for a lighter color!!!

Followed Rob Ray here from his previous studios and he does an amazing job! Rob likes to do natural styles so if you are looking for someone that makes it look like you haven’t gotten your hair colored (even though you need to do it), go see him. He is also full of tips for how to make sure your hair stays healthy in between your visits. His prices are very reasonable. His blowouts are also great — tons of volume!
Salon Ambiance is a nice studio with plenty of different stylists that offer different services. I have my engagement photo shoot coming up and was in desperate need of someone to do my makeup. When I showed up at my appointment to see Rob, I asked the receptionist if there was someone who would be willing to come in on a Friday early morning to help with my makeup and she set me up with Sarah. Rob will be doing my hair at 7:30 AM and Sarah will do my makeup at 8:30 AM so that I can be at my shoot on time. They were very willing to help accommodate my schedule and I was very grateful.
