I’ve been to Slow Fish a couple of times now, and I really enjoy their food! My brother and I went today, and the staff was super accommodating for the most part(they regularly visited our table). We ordered off the happy hour menu and the regular menu and had: the salmon roll, spider roll, New Slow Fish, sashimi salad, salmon skin roll, tuna sushi, spicy tuna roll, and crunchy roll. We asked for black rice for all of the rolls, but our server forgot! No biggie — he apologized and fixed the error as soon as he could(he also didn’t charge us for the black rice because of the error). The sashimi salad was definitely the highlight of the night! It’s so big and so fresh! I enjoyed all of the other rolls so much except for the salmon roll and the spicy tuna roll; the latter were okay, but they weren’t that amazing. I love this place and will continue going back! You should visit during Happy Hour — what a deal.

This place is really good. I love that it’s close to home, quiet and never crowded. My son loves coming here and ordering the Dragon roll… his favorite. Staff is friendly and service is great. Try the black rice!

The staff is very attentive and super nice. The restaurant in cool. As for the sushi, heads up I’m a fisherman, the spicy tuna tails with yellow tail were sub par. The spicy tuna was at least a day old. I could tell by looking at the color it wasn’t made that day. Can’t fool me. Shame on you for trying to sell $ 12 rolls that was from yesterday. I realize that you can you can cheat a little with the cut of tuna from the spicy tuna roll and I don’t mind some fat, but day old tuna, not going back here. The yellow tail was fresh but not that great. Maybe the yellow tail wasn’t good because of the tuna, but too bad. I hope they change up their game. They have the potential.

10:01pm. and the door is open and a couple customers eating and a young waiter says they are closed… so why the hell does their hours say til 10:30? Terrible way to get«new» customers.

Pretty good rolls. The service is usually friendly. Only have been here 3 times. Happy Hour deals are alright. We will probably go there more, so perhaps I will have more of an opinion. Nothing stands out to me as fantastic or unforgettable. The fish has good fresh flavor. Wish their spicy tuna roll had cucumber in it but I suppose I could just ask them to add it. It’s a rather small place but we’ve never had to wait for a table which is awesome. Plenty of parking. Will report back with more deets and pics for those who are interested.

Don’t be fooled. Slow fish is a Korean owned establishment. It took the the server 12 minutes to ask our group what we wanted to drink. Otoro was chutoro. Warm and mediocre for fatty tuna price Uni tasted bitter and off. Yellowtail was warm. Hokkaido scallops were slightly cooked, strange… Was not busy and service was extremely slow. Way different from anything I experienced in Japan and all of SoCal. Stay away from Korean owned sushi places. They don’t know what they’re doing.

I thought this was going to be my new go-to place for sushi in the neighborhood but I’m not a big fan of sushi with jalapeños for spice or with cream cheese(I’m not even a fan of the Philadelphia Roll) but it was the other dishes that really won me over. The Bento box lunch is a great deal, and the dancing pork and bulgogi are both so flavorful. And I love the short ribs. The Fat Avo, which is seasoned albacore tuna wrapped in avocado, is a great fusion dish. And if you ever see the«live shrimp» as a daily special, get it. I had some issues with the concept of eating a live shrimp but it proved extremely tasty, especially after they deep fried the head. Any foodie should really try this. Besides, you’ll have a great story to tell afterwards.

Great lunch break place. Fresh fish for a reasonable price. Roll combo and bentos are definitely worth it.

One of the best spots in Huntington Beach. 1. Food: a) Garlic Edamame: This appetizer is flavorful b) Tofu A-ge: Not the best I’ve had but still really good. c) Avocado Roll: Tiny… not worth it d) California Roll: Good but nothing special e) Vegetable roll: Salad in a roll f) Blue Fin Special: Not that memorable, but I’m really picky with my rolls. g) Salmon Cream: Good, for those that like the«Philly Roll» with the cream cheese. h) Sushi: Uni, Toro, Salmon, Yellowtail, Monkfish liver — All really fresh i) Seaweed Salad: A modern and different take. The family loved it but it was too much oil/mayo for me. j) Black Rice: Pretty good, but nothing beats white sushi rice! k) Fat Avo: Spicy tune wrapped in avocado with a soy based sauce. This dish comes highly recommended for tuna lovers! The sauce was a tad salty, if you could get it on the side… l) Fried Ice Cream: Tempura battered ice cream of your flavor, topped with whipped cream and chocolate syrup. 2. Décor: Clean and modern. 3. Price: Pricey but the flavor is good and the fish is fresh. 4. Service: Great and friendly servers

This is a nice quiet neighborhood spot. Prices are a little higher. But the fish is fresh and the drinks were good. I can’t recall exactly what we had ordered but I do recall us enjoying the meal and saying we would be back. This is a small spot. Better for smaller groups.

This is mine and my wife’s favorite sushi restaurant. The name«Slow Fish» is so you can take your time while you eat and enjoy the experience. The service however is not slow at all. They are quick to help you, serve you, and you’ll never wait for a refill. The whole staff here is spot on and very friendly. All that said the actual food here is great and never let’s you down. We have tried multiple rolls her and unlike most sushi restaurants where everything taste like California rolls w/a slight twist. Slow Fish rolls never let you down, all original and artfully created. We both highly recommend this place.

Don’t wait. Just go. I’ve eaten here each time I come back to Southern California and it has rapidly become my all time favorite sushi restaurant. Excellent service, beyond excellent quality fish and some of the most creative interpretations of standard sushi fare. Must try’s are the salmon(soft as butter), black snapper(brushed lightly with toasted sesame seed oil and rock salt). Just do it. You won’t regret it. If you do; well, if you do you’ve got issues.

My boyfriend and I came here for dinner, first time, and had a great meal. Service was prompt and attentive, very clean and peaceful inside and the sushi/sashimi was wonderful. I ordered: Yellowtail sushi Spicy scallop sushi Masago sushi spicy tuna roll My boyfriend ordered the sashimi plate. Which consisted of tuna, salmon, yellowtail and albacore. Everything was delicious and fresh tasting. I would highly recommend Slowfish and will definitely be back soon.

Went here for lunch and unfortunately, they did not have omakase, so I ordered off the menu: — Hamachi sashimi — Sake Sashimi — Maguro sashimi — Hotate sashimi — Uni sashimi — Ankimo — One roll — forgot the name but it was meh Total with tip was $ 175 It was a generous lunch and enjoyed it very much. As everything in Los Angeles /Long Beach area restaurants are located in the shopping plazas. Boring atmosphere.

This is an update, and this place has now become our go to sushi spot. In almost 2 years I’ve not had sushi that even comes close to Slow Fish. It’s fresh, delicious, and consistent. What more could there be?

Wow this place was great! The atmosphere was really nice with a cozy but nice feel with tables for seating and a sushi bar too. We sat at a table & had AWESOME service. Everyone who works there was super nice and helpful and attentive whenever they thought we needed something. The music was good too & it didn’t take long for us to get our food. The sushi was great quality and everything tasted great. We ordered some sushi and a few rolls, with the dragon roll being my favorite. We also ordered extra rice that was perfectly sticky and crispy delicious tempura shrimp and vegetables. There isn’t any AYCE but it’s definitely worth the extra cash for such good quality food and a great experience.

Been here many times for lunch, happy hour and reg dinner. We don’t feel the happy hour has much to offer in terms of value. 1. Salmon roll– good, nothing special 2. Albacore Delight-slightly spicy topped with smoky flavore albacore with ponzu sauce 3. Tender beef ribs-probably one of my favorite places to get ribs. Tender, sweet. Filling as it comes w a side of rice and salad.

Love this sushi place! A bit on the pricier side, but try everything with the black rice! It’s a little different in taste and so delicious, and I think much healthier for you. My default is the spider roll and the avocado stuffed with tuna. The seafood salad is also really good.

Atmosphere: Casual. Very cute décor in this hole in the wall, booth, chair and sushi bar seating, not big at all, so if you come with a large party a reservation is a must. Favorite item: Jalatuna Ordered Items: Crispy spicy tuna roll, Spicy tuna hand roll, Avocado and cucumber roll, crunchy roll, Jalatuna, eclipse shrimp and sake. I loved Slow fish, they have an amazing happy hour with beer, sake, rolls and small plates. We pretty much ordered everything off the happy hour except the hand rolls. The eclipse shrimps are good, its a wonton and cream cheese deep fried shrimp which was a interesting combo. I wish I had ordered other things to get a full experience. Only down fall is that their staff is rude.

I’ve been to the Slow Fish many times and have enjoyed my meal experiences most of the time. The last time I dined at the restaurant was for lunch with my son and hubby. We sat at one of the tables and ordered: (1) Slow Bento Lunch Special: * Miso Soup — Served hot and was tasty * Rice & Salad — Fresh * 4 Pieces of Veg Tempura — Lightly Battered and seasoned… yummy * Dancing Porky — Korean style spicy pork. The pork was tender but a lil too salty for my taste. (2) Slow Beef Tender Rip: * Miso Soup and Rice — Served hot and fresh * Marinated, Slow Roasted Beef Rib — Seasoned well and fell off the bone… scrumptious! Sonny boy liked his lunch a lot. (3) CA Roll & Gyoza I ordered sonny boy an order of the CA Roll and Gyoza … he can really eat; like his sweet Mom, lol. The CA roll was topped with onions which sonny boy did not like. Otherwise the roll was fresh and tasty. The Gyoza’s are my son’s fav so it was a good thing that they were tasty. (4) Slow Bento Lunch Special Hubby selected the same bento items except his main entrée was salmon. He really enjoyed his lunch. Slow Fish offers a wide and varied lunch menu with a descent price tag. The service is not consistent … some days excellent & some just standard. But, I’m still a fan & will be back … 4 Stars!
