Another great meal at Osteria Da Nino! We had reservations at 1730 Saturday night. We got there early so we could have a couple of glasses of wine at the bar since they have Happy Hour 7 days a week from 1600 – 1900! I choose an Albarino white wine which was light and refreshing and only 7USD on tap. Mike had a pint of Moretti, an Italian Biera, also on tap. We moved into the dining room and I was looking for the Hay and Straw Entrée but it’s not on the menu. However, Paglia E Fieno with wild mushrooms, truffle oil & cream was pretty similar and absolutely delicious! Mike loved his Tuscan shell steak which was cooked perfectly. Service was wonderful! The chef came by all the tables to chat with his guests which I thought was a nice touch! Yay! I’m still a fan!

Delicious New Years Day brunch! Friendly staff and great atmosphere. Will be coming back again! Excellent deal from groupon as well. Returned for a Friday night dinner last night. The ravioli was delicious.

Make no mistake, the food, service, and wine selection here are outstanding. Started with rice balls, which literally melt in your mouth; I had the hay and straw pasta and my husband ordered the lemon chicken. Everything was really really good. The manager came out and introduced himself and ensured we were enjoying ourselves, which we appreciated. I gave 4 stars instead of 5 because when the bill came, the wine I had chosen ended up being $ 16/8oz glass. Would definitely return but maybe order a beer

Hi-We went here last week for the 1st time, 30 miles round trip, Ryan the waiter was nice as was the atmosphere, we found the wooden chairs uncomfortable, we got steak, home fries & eggs(we used a groupon), the food was barely warm, was tasty & some spots almost cold, the eggs were way over done, had brown spots from being over cooked(scrambled eggs) i told Ryan this, he sorry & offered no new eggs(eggs are cheap, he should of replaced them), since its so far, we may go back with another groupon. Richie’s big GMC get lousy gas mileage. Thank you-Richie(Bump) & Eileen No Massapequa PS Rich wrote this. The place was crowded from 2 small parties & the place isnt big. If the food was hotter, better chairs & eggs not over done the rating would be better.

My favorite restaurant in the village by far! The food never disappoints and the wine is always delicious. Amazing Gluten-Free options which is great and hard to find! My boyfriend and I come here at least once a month. The space is small, so sometimes when it gets a little crowded, it gets kind of loud. It’s definitely quieter on the week nights. Wine on tap was my selling point!

I came here with my best friend who was visiting from Florida. We came here looking for some amazing Italian food and that is what we got. We ordered the burrata, seafood paella & truffle pasta… everything was delicious. The thing that really made our meal great was the excellent service. Our server was so sweet and really took care of us. Definitely will be back…

During a visit to a friend from Florida, my friend asked me where I wanted to go for dinner. My immediate response was for some good Italian food. This was the restaurant we decided on, and I definitely wasn’t disappointed. We had some mixed drinks, red wine, a burrata appetizer, and shared a couple of entrees. It was all excellent. In addition to the food being great, we had great service as well. I wish I could recall our servers name so that he could receive the kudos he deserves, but unfortunately I can’t remember what it was. Next time I’m on LI visiting from FL I know this will be a place I would like to eat again.

Service was horrible. No water or bread for 15 minutes. The bread arrived burnt and stale. I ordered veal Milanese which arrived cold and dry. My wife ordered the tilapia which had an after taste and was extremely dry. Check please and I will never be back.

Fabulous! I was definitely craving Italian and my friend and I wanted to go somewhere a little more trendier and less casual. It was perfectly intimate and rustic. The service was amazing. Our waiter was very polite and friendly, and so was the bartender. It made us feel very comfortable and at home. The food was absolutely fantastic. The waiter recommended a very good Malbec, which I need to find in the bottle. The bread was great, and there was a sweet eggplant dip that came with it, which was awesome too. Then we had the burrata appetizer, which was good, but I would’ve wished it was a little larger. It was also slightly runny. We both ordered the hay and straw pasta, which was excellent. It was definitely very rich, but it was worth it. This restaurant is a bit pricey, but isn’t awful for the area. I would definitely come back soon.

I’ve eaten at this restaurant many times over the past 8 years. They recently made some changes to the menu & décor. the appetizers and dinner were excellent but extremely small portions. I go to Lupa in NYC and they give you more pasta than osteria. The worst part of the meal was the special dessert which was cannoli, this was by far the worst cannoli I have ever had in my life. It was soggy, not even filled up with cannoli cream and tasted like it’s been in a refrigerator for days. Some advice go to Trento in Farmingdale and get their cannoli to see how it’s done, shells are made fresh for each order and filled to the max with fresh cannoli cream with chocolate chips. I would give a rating of 3.5 stars

Not good at all. I dont get all the positive reviews. I had dinner here early on a Saturday evening. we were the only customera in here. First of all, the décor needs to be uodated. There are stools in the front that look like they are from the 70’s or 80’s. The small wood panel bar is scratched and scuffed and does not match the seating(i visited a while ago so i cant recall if the seating near the bar was lime green or orange, but very dated for sure). As for the dining room, they actually have pictures of eggs in bowls! Not very elegant or creative, and dated as well. The bar tender and waitress were talking a lot, i guess i cant blame them too much since the place was empty. For an app I had the grilled octopus which was tasty(hence 2 stairs). My wife ordered the seafood paella. She said it had a funny taste and didn’nt want to touch it. I had veal which was ok, but somewhat tough and not the melt in your mouth freshness and quality of other italian restaurants. Empty place on a Saturday evening? That says a lot. Much better choices in a resturant rich locale like huntington. I don’t know where all the folks who love the«cozy» ambience were that evening, but not there.

All I can say is: Below average Italian food. I was pumped to get some gluten free food before a concert at the Paramount and any place with wine on tap has my business. We ordered two lovely wines on tap(suprisingly, the price was the same per glass as I usually pay for wine in Manhattan that comes from a bottle…). They were delicious. I ordered a gluten free pizza which, to be fair, had an excellent crust. The toppings however left a lot to be desired. The sausage was piled in the center of the pizza like an afterthough and there were absolutely no seasonings on it. Just cheese, tomato slices, and sausage. No salt. No pepper. No basil, oregano, parsley, red pepper flakes, garlic — anything! Talk about bland! My date had a pasta with red sauce and meatballs and we knew it was not going to be great when it came out with the sauce plopped on top of the pasta without anything being mixed… We also ordered the garlic string beans which were also bland and forgettable… Despite the mediocre dinner, we ordered dessert(we were running really early for that concert!). I got gelato, my date got sorbet. Gelato was icy and didn’t really taste anywhere near the kind I get at the grocery store… The sorbet was pretty good though. Overall, it was a really mixed dinner. Most of the experience was 2 stars but for a gluten free menu and a really good gluten free pizza crust, I’ll bump ‘em up one.

Our first time here… delicious. It was a quiet Wednesday night not too much going on and we stumbled upon this gem. The staff was polite with great recommendations. Wine on draft? Yes please! Great selection. And the food was phenomenal, especially the Hay & Straw(not the name on the menu) definitely will be back!

I went here last night — Tuesday evening — and the bar was completely filled. but the rest of the restaurant was EMPTY. Which ended up being a good thing because we were able to get a table immediately. First, I had a glass of red wine at the bar… through their«wine on tap» and it was delicious… the bartender had recommended it for me and I was very happy with it. My friend has a mint mojito and he said it was on par with other restaurants… For appetizers we had the baked artichokes and the calamari fritti… The calamari was ok — nothing special. But the baked artichoke… oh gosh — it was delicious… kind of looked funky with the green herbs, but tasted amazing — highly recommend it. For our entrees, my friend has the ricotta gnocci… and it was really really good… he let me have a bite :) I had the spinach & ricotta ravioli… it was almost perfect. The only negative thing about the ravioli is that it was very greasy… If they could decrease the amount of grease on the plate, the ravioli would have been fantastic. For dessert we had the tiramisu and expresso. Nothing special. The tiramisu looked very unappetizing and as if someone took a slab of cake out of the freezer and stuck it on a plate. I took off one star for the dessert(and greasy ravioli) and one star for service at the table. It was incredibly tough to get the waitress’ attention. The restaurant was empty — there is no excuse for bad service. My friend had an empty glass for about 30 minutes, before I asked a busboy to get the waitress for us. Overall, the food was good, the dessert was mediocre and the service was lacking. I’m not sure when I will go back… if I do, I will stick to the bar.

Came here on a Monday night a bit before 7 and it was dead. Totally empty. Despite this everything was tasty and came out quickly. The bread was served with a onion jam which was delicious and I had the spinach and ricotta ravioli which was delicious(but the portion size was small, I always forget they don’t give many in restaurants though). Would definitely recommend it :)

The wife and I decided to play a little hooky on a Monday and treat ourselves to a nice lunch. I love the other sister restaurants to this place and decided to finally give this place a shot. We started out with the burrata which is always a favorite of mine. All I can say is that this was the best burrata I have ever had. The texture was amazing and they used the perfect amount of balsamic and olive oil to meld the flavor a together. We were pleasantly surprised when we saw they had a wide selection of lunch chooses for 12 dollars each. The wifey chose the cavatelli with crumbled sausage and it was bursting with flavor. The portion was just right for lunch. The waiter recommended the burger so of course I went that route. The burger was superb. The patty was perfectly constructed, tight enough to hold together but loose enough that the texture of the meat was still evident. It was juicy and flavorful. Normally I like a very strong assertive cheese on top but this one came with fresh mozzarella. I have to say it was a nice change of pace as the burger had certain meatball nuances and nothing beats mozzarella and meatballs. Now don’t get me wrong, this isn’t a meatball burger it just has some similar characteristics. The burger was cooked to absolute perfection. Overall this was a great choice for our day. The service was great, food was outstanding and the real kicker was that the entrees were only 12 bucks each. I can’t wait to go here for a proper dinner and see what they have to offer. Wines on tap!!! Always a plus in my book.

Am I allowed to give 6 stars? Please please 6 stars. This place is dang right so so perfect. I wished I lived here. The pasta was off the charts and they really do well with the complimentary bread as well. I love how they offer various dishes, but do try their pasta. The Carciofini Alla Giudia artichokes were also my dang favorite. They were cooked right with a punch of flavor of garlic and oil. I also tried the Paglia E Fieno Ai Funghi E Tartuffo — the mushroom worked so well with the truffle oil it’s like they danced together on my taste buds. I could NOT stop smiling with every bite. There are no words to describe it. It wasn’t soggy, it was al dente and I have never been happier without meat that day. I tried some of the Fettuccine Con Polpette Di Carne too. I am not a fan of veal, but it was pretty good. Still — not as good as the hay and straw pasta though. Please do try this place!

A great place to come, eat well, eat healthy and have a freakin’ great warm, caramel bread pudding! The chef comes out, has some fun with you… its a real fun, yet classy place. The music is throw back Motown and just really nice. It’s a loud atmosphere, but great for ambiance.

This review is long overdue and I could go on and on regarding how wonderful Osteria Da Nino is. After another Huntington restaurant’s renovations ran behind, my Bridal Shower needed to be relocated shortly before the date. Osteria Da Nino closed on a Sunday afternoon for the shower and they were overly accommodating in every way. They printed up personalized menus for the event and the event menu choices and beverage options were extensive. My guests are still raving about how amazing the food was and how attentive the service was. I’ve worked in the special events industry for over ten years, so it is very refreshing to see an establishment get every detail right. They definitely left a lasting impression that day and Nino is now my go-to restaurant in Huntington Village. I highly recommend it not only for their delicious Italian selections, but also for the top notch service they provide and the rustic, comfortable atmosphere they offer. Lastly, you need to check out their brilliant new environment friendly wine on tap system! In two words– GONOW!
