Ouch! New to the DC area I had been here 4 times before and the results were always good to I asked the stylist named Toni for a conservative cut, a little longer on the top than on the sides. I was very clear about what I wanted and even showed her a picture… it made no difference… I almost walked out with a faux hawk. I made her trim the top so it was short all over and it is now uneven and just the worst hair cut I have ever had. Won’t ever go back even with an appointment with one of the competent stylists. I guess it serves me right for letting someone with a wig and a dozen facial piercings cut my hair. I am honestly convinced she messed up my hair on purpose. p. s. I just realized that most of the reviews are about«Toni»…that is what was written on the receipt so I don’t really know if this is her name. Just beware of the stylist with dozens of piercings all over her face.

I’ve been here 3 – 4 times only because I wait until the last minute and HAVE to get my haircut. I always have to wait at least 30 minutes because there are usually only 2 people cutting hair. The haircuts I get are quite simple but there is usually something not done well. I always have to go home and have my fiancée finish it.

My review is about Toni who did an excellent job with my hair. She was courteous and listened to how short I wanted my hair. When I decided to have it a bit shorter than initially stated, she was very accommodating. I have received many compliments on my new do. Great service for the price. Thanks Toni!

Do not go to this location, PERIOD. BEWARE!!! I went in to get my hair done on a Monday. The service I wanted was to have my top half to be a burgundy color while my original color was left alone on the bottom half. My stylist was Tiffany, who I would NEVER recommend to anyone unless they want their hair to get jacked up, as mine was when she was done with it. I had to get my hair bleached for the color and I was worried about it but if I wanted the color I had to bleach it for the first time. So I went through with it and the color I had chosen was then to be applied to my hair. She applied the color to my hair and when she was done and I looked at my hair color in the mirror, I thought I was dreaming. It was a bright clown color of ORANGE! I told Tiffany, no I can’t go out like this and I told her I wanted red as we had thoroughly discussed. If she was a professional, clearly she is fooling herself, she would have gotten my color right the very first time. She had then applied another color to get it more red than orange and I thought it was OK as on decent to leave because she had bleached my hair and had these chemical services done to my hair. But when I got home and I parted my hair, I saw hot roots of the orange hair and the bleached hair along my hairline. I went back highly upset and wanted my money back because the service I received terribly sucked. I even cried too which I rarely did. The stylist jacked up my hair color even when I told her the color I wanted yet she managed to do something else. I had to wait almost 3 weeks to get my color corrected and I decided to get streaks of color for a pop of color I had wanted. I had to cover my head in this hot weather, even at work, just to wait to get this horrid color to look more natural. The manager offered a free protein treatment but because I felt so uncomfortable from this experience, I decided never to enter this sorry Hair Cuttery ever again. Please they are way too expensive for every little thing! Bottom Line once again: DON’T GOHERE!!!

Service is really sporadic based on which stylist you’re lucky enough to get. Some are great, but my latest haircut featured an odd shape in the back that I had to get corrected elsewhere.

Barely made it past the door. Walked in & three stylists are there, all busy. No worries, I can wait. Except not a single one would even look at me. Finally made eye contact with one woman & smiled, she looked right at me, no smile no greeting. Tried the second, same reaction. The third stylist was on the phone the entire time and she also couldn’t be bothered to acknowledge a new customer so I couldn’t be bothered to stay. Had planned on buying a number of products as well that I ended up ordering online straight from Cibu, won’t be coming here to be treated rudely again.

Tiffany just gave my fine, should-length hair the best chin-length bob I’ve ever had! The wash, cut and blow-dry cost $ 24 and I was more than happy to tip $ 10. She gave a nice head massage and thorough wash and condition, asked questions and checked in with me as she progressed to make sure that the length, style, etc were just what I wanted. She really took the time to do a great job and I’ve already had a few compliments! I just love getting a great haircut!!!

Angela is the best! Very professional and talented. She got me looking sharp for my date this weekend. And a really nice lady. If you live round Hyattsville go see her. You won’t regret it. Thanks Angela!~

OK, this new review is for Angela only: Angela is amazing! She asked a lot of questions about how I wanted my hair cut, and she kept asking questions throughout the process to make sure that I was happy with how my hair was looking.(She also told me the price up front, which was something I appreciated.) My hair looked amazing right after, but my second-day hair also looked awesome! FYI, I have very short, very fine hair. Will definitely be going back and asking for Angela!

Summary: Long wait. Aloof staff. You get what you pay for. I prided myself in my long hair for about 8 years. My first visit to HC was when I went in to have my ombré trimmed off. Instead of following the angle of my ombré, my hair was chopped off at the shortest point where the dye was. In addition to removing INCHES more hair than I had requested, the layers were as choppy as the classic Rachel haircut on «Friends» in 1995. I had specifically said, «Please, no chunky layers.» I went back a day or two later. While I could not get back all the hair that had been chopped off, a supervisor was at least able to thin out some the layers. I appreciate that she tried to fix my hair for free. A few days later I went to Eva at Kindle and Boom in Bethesda and had it fixed better. I will never make the mistake of trusting anyone else again. Kindle and Boom is high-end, but sometimes you get what you pay for. I know some people have had great experiences at HC but for me, there was obviously a miscommunication. It will literally take years to grow my hair back to the length it was.

I went here to get my hair trimmed. I wish I never did. Toni attempted to trim my hair. She didn’t do a thorough job. She basically combed my hair and went around the edges and trimmed all the way across. My hair is layered and she didn’t even part my hair to trim my layers. It took about 5 minutes. Next time I will go to a shop that is more established and choose a seasoned stylist to trim my hair.

Stopped in today on my lunch break around noon for a trim. There wasn’t anyone else there when I arrived so I didn’t have to wait. Very professional and clean place. Very nice and relaxing shampoo job. The cut was exactly what I had asked for. It was only around $ 18 for the cut but getting it blow dried made it $ 32. I usually spend about twice as much at a higher end salon. I enjoyed my experience and will be back.
