Wife’s 50th birthday. She wanted to go to a comedy club. We chose Crackers. Nice atmosphere, Watered down drinks.(Wife had to order a separate shot to add to her drink to taste any alcohol) Every mixed drink at our table was said to be watered down. Stick with the beer, at least you know what you’re getting. The headliner was pretty good. We were really enjoying ourselves. So you can imagine our surprise when we were asked to leave because the table next to us said we were disruptive and laughing too loud. I was a manager for 20 years. If ever there was a disturbance in my workplace, I’d gather information I could, investigate the problem and form a course of action. When the –itch of a manager was asked if she knew for sure it was our table, she hadn’t checked. REALLY? You’re going to throw someone out based on hear say? But… before we were escorted to the door, they wouldn’t let us leave without giving a tip! You’re skull –ucking me! I thought a tip was voluntary! My wife has been a bartender for over 25 years. I know what a tip means, and I guarantee that everyone in our party would have tipped generously based on service, which wasn’t too bad based on the number of people there. But being forced to tip? Especially after being forced to leave! I will do what research I can to see just how legal that was. But BEWARE people, evidently rudeness from this management team has happened before. Dustin Fowler and LaKeisha T, thought so. The only time I’d go back is if the management was changed. Where the hell did you find her? I’m sure you could have picked a better candidate. At least one with communication skills.

Ruined A B-Day Horrible place, manager(Eric) and owner doesn’t care. Warning!!! Love comedy clubs — gave this one a second chance — second time even WORSE. Quick summary: a) Ceiling Leaked… all over us — and 2 other tables of people; staff wouldn’t even come with towels. We shifted down to avoid — and listen to comic — BUT — could hear the leaking throughout the show. b) BOOMBOOMBOOM… that was the sound of the bass in the bar next door — so loud — could hardly hear the comic. c) Beer Spilled… all over me from one of the angry patrons as they left; staff saw — mopped floor — didn’t even give me a napkin — never mind offer another beer. d) Lady’s Room… door was missing; no paper towel e) Accused Of Stealing… so we left cash on the table(including a tip) — and went to leave; the manager(Eric) stopped me and asked for a receipt showing we paid our 2 drink minimum; explained we paid cash — he got literally INMYFACE f) I Asked For Apology… called on phone; talked to Megan — she said they had lots of trouble that night — and the owner would call me.(Didn’t happen!!!) Horrible place. Horrible owner. Horrible staff(except Megan). Go At Your Own Risk!!!

I’ve been coming here for years! I love both downtown and broad ripple locations. It feels quaint, but not too crowded, and the ambiance feels like old school comedy. It’s typically a very fun time if you love all kinds of comedy. Prices are very fair. The only reason I’m not giving 5 stars is because I’ve left feeling disappointed in the service from wait staff, and I HATE that they do not take cards to purchase tickets, only to purchase food. It’s inconvenient and annoying

The building is dilapidated almost throughout. The seating the night I went was horrible, 4 persons to a 2 person table, elbow room only & very uncomfortable not to mention over $priced! The microphone utilized was broken and kept cutting in and out. They never even attempted to repair or swap it out which made the show miserable for both the patrons and the comedians & we all know they bring in enough money with more than one location to afford a replacement or a spare just in case. The food, well let’s just say HA! Don’t go there expecting to get an appetizer to hold you over till dinner if you go to the early showing. They only have«snacks» as stated by our waitress. We ordered chips and salsa and received stale chips and Tostitos salsa from the bottle, we know this because of the unmistakeable taste after buying it for years on end. 2 drink minimum per person which is the norm for these establishments. All in all, now I remember why I hadn’t been here since around 2003!

I’ve never enjoyed walking up the creepy stairs to to get to this place, mostly because they’re small and creepy and dirty. The entire time we were listening to the comedian, we could hear the club music from next door pumping through the walls. Which was definitely distracting, not only to us, but had to be distracting to the comedian, because he commented on it. I mean, if there is a comedian you love coming to town, by all means– come check it out-it can be a fun way to spend a couple of hours if you can concentrate on what they’re saying.

Went here for a bachelorette party and was pleasantly surprised with the crackers scene! For starters, we got the living social deal which was great, but make sure you read the fine print… they basically limit you alot to what you can go to with it… We were here for the James Ervin Berry show, and let the record show: not a huge fan. His videos online were WAYYYY better than in person, LOVED the opener though(forgot his name :() Know ahead of time that there is a two drink minimum in the show room, but their prices are really not all that bad so it’s not a big deal. The waitresses were really good at making sure we were taken care of but still steering clear of the stage and our view. I was nervous about Crackers because I’ve heard some sub-par things about it, but don’t let that stop you, it really is a great place for a good laugh and good times!

Never go to this comedy club! It has went way down hill! Wish I could give no stars. My friend had a drink with a piece of glass in it and the waitress was horrible about it.

I have been here a few times in the past year. I always enjoy myself! Service could be a little more friendly, especially before the show starts. I usually eat before I go so I can’t speak for the food, the one time I did order food I was not impressed. Over all I will still go back, the office staff has been very helpful with make reservations and questions I have.

Thanks to a great co-worker got to come here for the first time and see Jeff Dye. Great show! Dated dark interior which is probably standard for a comedy club. Service was a little on the cold side but adequate and the food was ehhh… I had the stale popcorn and my buddy had a decent but nothing special wrap. A little disappointed that this place doesn’t seem to support the local beers. Sun King was the most expensive drink(outside of mixed) more than the wine even! Will definatly be back but will probably eat a good dinner before I come.

Went with a group of folks to see Rebecca Corry last week. We had a blast. The staff was really cool, the sound was awesome, and they had great drinks… and when I say«great» I mean«strong.» Loved the seating arrangement of the place. I had only been to the Crackers Comedy up in Broad Ripple. Definitely coming back and taking more friends.

I had a great time Performing at this Club. The audience was really friendly and cool and the Staff is awesome. Sometimes at comedy clubs, drunk people don’t know how to act. This is true everywhere they sell drinks, but this is a fact of life. The Room is kind if funky, old and intimate. Ruth Ann Books really funny people.

I have never been so discriminated against in my life. This club cons you in with free tickets for ladies night on Wednesday’s then charges too much for drinks, service is slow and the owner is rude and racist. I was out on 2÷27÷2013 for ladies night with a group of 5 black women and 3 white people. Imagine my shock when I was shushed like a child, rudely yelled at, made to wait till all customers left to get my bank card, forced to show my ID to the police, had a manager inappropriately take pictures of me, and had to pay for items I did not receive due to a mix up with the waiter and staff. There was no behavior that would have warranted this kind of reaction, no guests complained of our laughter, the comedian did not have to tell us to keep it down and did not address noise irritation to us at any point. However when the manager is standing so close to us that she can hear every whisper, it was a problem. The loudest my group got was at the end of the night when the owner asked us if the«white couple» was with us and how dare we ruin their night! Really are you kidding me. I said they are with us! This particular couple received their bank card back before all of us and was the last to pay. The 3 white people with our group were allowed to walk past the cops without showing their ID and being a part of the investigation. So how should this make me feel? I do not understand what was done to cause so much anger towards our group. We were the only black group there and maybe that was why we were targeted as a part of her anger. She was clearing drinking and was extremely agitated for no reason. The best part of the night was when the manager came over and said I apologize for her outburst. I cant stand to work with her and I do not condone anything that has happened this evening. She was willing to help and stood next to us shaking her head the entire time we talked with the cops. I will never visit this establishment again. I have been a frequent visitor on Wednesdays for a while and each time I go the service and shows get worse and worse. The racism I experienced was the icing on the cake. I will not recommend or spend money at any establishment that has blatant racist owners and employees. I have already removed myself from their email list and will make every effort to not endorse this establishment. By the way the owners never even took the time to get BBB endorsed. That should say something right there!

On my first trip here recently, I saw Auggie Smith. He was HILARIOUS. The place is small and cramped and we barely got in(you definitely need to purchase tickets online or make reservations). We just ordered soda beverages, and smoothies(very good!). The one thing that I didn’t like is that they do not take cash at the door(but they do inside the show room). This is a joke — they need to take debit/credit at both. Yes, there is an ATM just steps away from the ticket counter, but you pay fees.

I have been here many times over the last 15 years and it just keeps getting worse. Indy comedy clubs just do not attract the big names. My last visit we saw Kevin Downey, he was great; when we could hear him. During the entire show there was a stupid beotch behind us talking on her phone. And then there was 3 drunk morons at the table next to us having a conversation the entire show. REAL comedy clubs(like the Improv) throw idiots like that out. I’m paying to watch a comedian and eat/drink. I am not paying to listen to some morons in the audience talk. This is an issue that these guys have to address immediately. Then there is the overcrowding. This place likes to stuff so many people inside that if there was a fire, half of us would have been trampled to death. Except for the beotch on the phone, she would have suffocated from using up all of the oxygen in the room. This is an issue that also needs to be addressed immediately. Lastly, they do NOT take credit cards for admission but they do at the tables. This is screwy and they didn’t offer any explanation. They did say we could go to an ATM down the street. A-hole attitude towards customers.

Painfully bad on open mic nights, but Crackers is good at reeling in national acts. I’ve seen a few friends try their hand at open mic night here(on Tuesdays, I think). The crowd is pretty forgiving, but expect a few hecklers. I also saw Lou Black here, who was phenomenal. Shows can get expensive and there’s usually a 2 drink minimum. They also rate their comedians like movies, so you know which ones to go to if you decide to drag the kids along.
