Absolutely amazing. Really hidden gem. Very unassuming on the outside but very nice décor inside. The Vietnamese food is best in town and the service is perfect. They have a large menu that also has other Asian dishes and they do everything to perfection.

It was afternoon and I was hungry! The lady offered me to have the tofu with lemon grass option instead of the chowmein I chose to order. I was happy on taking the lady’s advice as the dish was pleasant to my pallet. The atmosphere was calm as it was a Monday afternoon and the place was clean and hygenic. Plenty of vegetarian options for people who don’t eat meat.

Had lunch here on Friday. Have eaten here for years! Not the best Phở I’ve had but still good.

This place is legit. I’ve been there 3 times and have been really happy each time. They take better care of the interior than the exterior, so don’t be turned away by a little peeling paint. I got phở the first 2 visits and it was large and delicious. My 3rd time there I got some chicken dish with rice. It was good too. Better than what most Chinese places offer, but I think I’ll go back to phở next time.

Not the best. The phở was not as rich and complex as it should be. I suspect that all the varieties came out of same pot. So expect some random chunks floating in your broth. Appetizers are the usual fried fare. It’s ok for the area or in a pinch but there are much better options around.

Very good food. Service was a little slow. The waitress was very nice. Over all a good place to eat. I would definitely go back

I moved to Indianapolis a year ago this October. One of the first places that I ate at while doing apartment searches was Phở 54. I had never tried Vietnamese before and always LOVE trying new cuisines! Let’s just say that I liked it so much that I have been going back quite often. The building is not the most attractive from the outside and the décor is kind of bland but that’s not what should impress a true foodie. The food should impress. And it most definitely did and continues to do so. The staff is always super friendly and will answer any questions that you have about the food or culture. The food is always amazing and the flavor is always consistent with flavor and freshness. I have recently moved to the east side of town, so about a 20 minute drive to Phở 54, but it is always worth the time to get the same welcoming experience every time. As for suggestions, if you have never eaten Vietnamese before and want to go for something traditional you MUST try the Phở Special(traditional Vietnamese soup) and the spring rolls with a yummy peanut sauce for dipping.

They have been my favorite for years. I always get Beef and Broccoli and Crab Rangoon’s. Not sure what’s happening at PHO. Last two times I have not been happy with the food. They have changed vendors or brands or their recipe. The flavor is off somehow. I thought the first time was a fluke that’s why I tried one more time. Looks like I’m on the search for these two dishes elsewhere.

Much improved compared to the first time we came here. The ingredients they use in their food is great. The way it is put together and presented needs work. 1. Service: the waiter is a teenager who does his job but lacks enthusiasm, maturity, and respect. You can tell a lot by the baggy shorts and T-shirt what he thinks about working there. Without great service you wouldn’t want to come back no matter how good the food is. 2. Spring rolls AKA Goi Cuon AKA Goi Roll: The freshest we’ve tasted in Indy. The Shrimp and pork taste great but the wrapper was too wet and loose when the rolls came out. The sauce tastes like hoisin sauce. The sauce is boss and Phở 54 has nothing on King Wok. 3. Phở: great, light tasting soup base. Fresh meat. This was the standout dish. 4. Combination noodles AKA Bun thit nuong: This dish consists of rice noodles mixed with greens, broiled beef, and an egg roll. It tasted great. I just wish they gave more of it.

Interesting place. a combination of Vietnamese and Chinese dishes under one roof. I’m so used to going to phở places that goes by numbers. such as Phở 213 or Phở 21 that when I saw this… it can be legit. The restaurant serves decent sized meals. Quality is good. I’ve had better phở soup but this one isn’t that bad. The place is cheap. You’ll be stuffed under $ 10. Don’t expect desserts. No kids menu so bring something for the little ones who are picky eaters. The owners are nice. The place seems to be clean. Plenty of parking.

My husband and I love Phở, and try to visit at least one restaurant when we are out of town. We chose this one because of it’s reviews here on Unilocal, however we were rather disappointed. We ordered beef spring rolls and phở tai. The spring rolls were good but seemed to be only lettuce and meat, and the fish sauce the came with was tasty but also nothing special. The phở though was very good, which is the only reason I even rated this restaurant 2 stars. The two primary reasons I rated this restaurant so low was because of our service and the overall restaurant environment. Our waiter was a young guy who was wearing a too big, stained, untucked shirt and we constantly had to remind him to bring us things we asked for. We had to ask for water three times before we got any, and twice for chopsticks to eat our phở with. I often saw him sitting in a booth up front doing nothing. He did apologize for his forgetfulness claiming they were busy, but there was only one other couple that was finishing up as we came in and another couple who sat down about half way through our meal; so it didn’t really feel like a valid excuse. The other issue with Phở 54 we had was that it felt sort of dirty. Our booth had something splashed on the wall, and the whole place just kind of felt a little run down. When we are in Indianapolis next, we will not be coming here again.

I ate here for the first time earlier this week. I have to say, I wasn’t expecting much when I saw the exterior. However, I really wanted some Vietnamese food so I decided to try this place. I had the Goi Rolls as an appetizer and they were delicious. Exactly how I like them and the peanut plum sauce that goes with them is amazing. For the main entrée I had Hue Beef Noodle Soup, which is something I usually get when I go to Vietnamese restaurants. Needless to say, I was not disappointed. The soup was delicious and perfectly spicy. There wasn’t a whole lot of beef in the soup but there was plenty of bean sprouts and jalapenos to add to the soup. The bowl was huge and I probably only finished about half. The prices are decent as well for the portion sizes that you receive. My only complaint is that I ordered water and was never asked if I wanted or needed a refill. With the spicy soup I drank my water very quickly but I could never see the lady who brought me my food. If not for that, I would give this place 5 stars.

This was our first visit here. We were greeted upon entering and got to choose our table. It was a Monday at 11:15 so not very busy. Nice, clean interior. Overall, our food was good, but definitely seemed a little bland, for Vietnamese food. Toward the bottom of my bowl, I found a fly which was a little off-putting, but luckily I had already finished eating by then.

This place is amazing. Real food and real people. The real deal. Very clean and lovely environment. Probably the best Phở I’ve ever had. I had the veggie phở with fake chicken … It’s so good!

Strongly recommend this place. What’s not to like. Combination Vietnamese and Chinese food. Everyone looks happy and no issues. Older lady runs the place. Older gentleman does the cooking. Only visa or master card. no discover or American express. Business travelers be warned. Also no personal checks.

You know how sometimes you drive by a place, and say«Hmm, I should check that place out sometime», but the location and the way the exterior looks always turns you off? Talk about a diamond in the rough. If you have ever felt this way, do yourself a favor and stop in! Once you go inside, your expectations will change and will only go up. Perhaps they want to start you off with such low expectations walking in that everything ends up being great, but whatever the case may be… This is my go-to Vietnamese food! Came here on Friday and boy oh boy. Not only was the food delicious, but the service I received was amazing. There was only 3 tables in there at the time(I eat dinner late) so perhaps that is why service had some much attention on me but the lady(one of the owners) who was taking care of us took time to explain the less common dishes on the menu as well as ingredients that go into the dishes. We tried both the fried and steamed spring rolls and I have to say, the steamed were amazing while the fried were average fried spring rolls. The home made peanut sauce the steamed spring rolls come with was fantastic! My girlfriend ordered the Phở, and since I knew I’d get to share that and experience the Phở here, I ordered a traditional? clay pot dish. The Phở was excellent and I’d compare it to any GOOD Phở place you’ve been to. The clay pot dish was«Steamed Pork» and honestly tasted just like Mongolian beef, but with pork instead. The portion size was a bit lacking, but I filled up on the rice which comes with it. All in all, I’d come back here in a heartbeat. At an average $ 10 for good vietnamese food. I’m in!

One thing is clear this November afternoon. .it’s COLD! Nothing beats the cold then a good bowl of soup! ! What Phở 54 does is break u out of the humdrum of boring soup and replaces it with stomach warming taste buds jumping soup! Vegetarian and Vegan friendly and prices are on point! No big chain. .just good Chinese more Viatnamese good home cooking!!!

This place is a diamond in the rough. The location isn’t the best, and the building isn’t beautiful but the Phở is! Came in by myself for lunch and had some spring rolls and a big bowl of phở. Not the best i’ve had, but still worth multiple visits, especially being so close to home.

I’ve seen this place for a few months now to and from my way to work, finally stopped in for a quick bite and was very happy that I did. The Phở was excellent, a point to note is that the soup wasn’t as salty as other Phở places around town(I’m looking at you, King Wok). The fried spring rolls coupled with the sweet dipping sauce is perfect. The restaurant is clean, almost spotless, and it’s a huge plus. I will definitely come back and try other dishes. Also for those of us who live on the northwest side: this is the best Phở you can get this side of the town, period. Don’t need to drive all the way to Lafayette anymore.
