Thank you Dr. Ryan for making my experience such a positive one. The office staff is so friendly and helpful. And Dr. Ryan was so thorough. She saw a weird mass in one of my eyes that she wasn’t sure of so she dilated my eyes to make sure it was nothing to be concerned about. I feel so relieved to be in such good hands! And they have a pediatric side to the practice so I can take my kids too! What a great practice I would highly recommend Dr. Ryan and her staff!

Dr. Ryan is the best of the best. She sees all 5 of us. I wouldn’t go anywhere else. She is extremely thorough and knowledgable. She answers all my concerns. She is so kind and thoughtful. I am very picky and know when I found someone who is the best. When it comes to front office staff, just put things into your own hands. Call and check and recheck your appointments. I personally have never had any problems. I always just take charge for myself, that’s all. I hope she’s not going anywhere for a very long time.

We have been patients of this office for a number of years. My son sees Dr Ryan for his vision issues and I have seen other doctors in the office for mine. The doctors are really great. My frustration, however, is with the front office. The same woman has been working there for at least 10 years and I honestly don’t think there is a single time when she hasn’t made some sort of mistake or error in judgment. She will quickly answer questions without really listening to what you are asking. She gives erroneous information about insurance and fees, she has lost information in the computer, she has lost our physical files, and so on. She is very polite but does not seem to communicate well and in turn, her misunderstandings and oversights have practically ruined ever single interaction I have had with this office. There have been times when we have needed to coordinate files being shared with our ophthalmologist or reports being sent to a school and nearly every time she finds a reason to say it can’t be done. I dread when I hear her voice. If my glasses need to be repaired, the person who I need to see isn’t there, the doctor cant be reached, the tech I need to talk with is a lunch. She ALWAYS has a reason why I just need to call back another time. I want to scream! She absolutely never offers the logical patient oriented option of taking down the information and having so-​and-​so call me back. No, I must keep calling in hopes of catching people in between appointments, etc. When I ask that she take a message or whatever else is logical, she frets around and if she can’t come up with another excuse, she’ll agree. BUT I know there is a low probability that my message will be copied correctly and delivered. I think she is secretly trying to discourage patients from returning! I have read the other reviews and it seems the office staff is the reason for every single one of the negative reviews. So here is my question: Why would good doctors who work hard to promote their skills, expertise and business, continue to employ someone who is undermining their efforts? This includes keeping that employee in the one position that ensures contact with every single one of their patients?

Pro: It’s a busy place. And that’s a good sign that many people trust them.
Con: It’s a busy place. Office seem under-​staffed. Hard to schedule follow-​up visits if you were booked with a doctor that doesn’t work all days in the week. Wait on the phone and in office is not unusual.
From what I see, it might be a good place for children as many children go there and probably good for vision therapy. But if you’re just looking over Unilocal to find a doctor for a normal check-​up, to renew your prescription, this wouldn’t be my first choice.

Dr. Ryan was good with our kids. They wanted to schedule our next annual visit at the end of this appointment. Sometime before the appointment they changed the date and time without telling us.
It was awesome to find out about the appointment being changed when we showed up. They even went as far as to say I requested the change which was done to match Dr. Ryan’s vacation.
I will never recommend this office again. It does no go to have a good doctor when the office staff sucks!

My son is a patient of Dr. Ryan’s. As a 7 year-​old, I knew he was verbally intelligent, but he had trouble with reading & writing. When he asked me, «Is it okay that the words on the page sometimes look like a roller coaster?» I knew there was a problem. He had ²⁰⁄₂₀ vision, but his eyes didn’t work as a team. He went through vision training in Arlington Heights, IL, and his comprehension soared. When we moved to Orange County, Dr. Ryan took over. He still had issues with handwriting speed and spacing between words, so Dr. Ryan helped him to receive computer accommodations in middle school and eventually for the SAT in high school. He is now a Senior at UCLA. We can’t thank her enough!!!
Dr. Ryan has so much passion for her work… she exudes it!
If you are looking for an eye doctor, this is the place! Personally I have seen every doctor here. They have all been willing to spend quite a bit of time to help me find the perfect contacts. The staff is top notch too… so friendly and helpful!
Dr. Ryan is very popular and it takes some patience to get an appointment with her. If you have been thinking about it… call them now. If you are considering vision training, I am so glad that I took this path with my son! It is probably one of life’s choices that I am most proud of.

This review is only for the lady at the eyeglass section. She has a shoulder length black hair.
My 7 year old daughter got her eyeglasses from here. It kept sliding down her nose and she was seeing through above her glasses. She kept straining her eyes that way. When we went to adjust the eyeglasses here, the lady said that that is how eyeglasses are supposed to be seated. Clearly that was not the case as my daughter wears glasses from 5 years and they were comfortable fit and not riding down her nose. Obviously we got her eyeglasses earlier from other optometry.
This time i went to another opthamologist and she clearly said that it would have strained her eyes and that might have caused her power go up again a little higher this year. I just cannot forgive that lady for playing with my daughter’s precious eyesight.
Earlier i tried to get it corrected from another optometry nearby and they adjusted it after warning me that the frame might break. I went ahead anyway as it was very uncomfortable. The frame broke, but was under warranty. So when we went again for frame replacement, it again slided down her nose and again the same response. :) What a poisonous mind… to play with young kids eyesight,…

My 2 year 9 months old daughter just got her first eye exam ever with Dr. Tsang. I felt that everything went really well and noticed that my daughter sees better than me. My daughter loves her alphabet so it worked well for her to read the letters. The pictures were trickier because it’s hard to decipher some of them. Also I was fortunate my daughter likes sunglasses because they make the toddlers wear glasses or eyepatches to test each eye.
At the end of the exam my daughter got to pick a prize from the treasure box.
All in all when the exam was over my daughter did not want to leave. She was upset when Dr. Tsang wanted us to go to the front to check out. I’ve never seen my daughter NOT want to leave a doctor’s office.
So both my daughter and I give this place 5 stars.

Dr Ryan is the BEST!!! She is so sweet and very good with little ones! We brought in my 15 month old because no other Dr has been able to tell us what the problem is with her eyes and Dr. Ryan was very thorough and has guided us in the right direction as she has begun to rule things out. No other Dr has been able to do anything other than say «I’ve never seen this before!» Thanks Dr. Ryan!

Dr Tsang was actually really great and knowledgeable about contacts and was very thorough in her exam. Unfortunately, the front office is not nearly as competent. Upon my initial visit I inquired how much my insurance would cover and I was told the amount off of the exam but they weren’t sure about materials (contact lenses) and that they would find out and let me know. So I called back after using the trial pairs I’d received to potentially order some, but they were still unsure about my insurance coverage so I went somewhere else to purchase them. Today, I called in to get some information to fill out the claim for my exam with my insurance since they don’t bill my carrier directly and the front desk had no idea what I was asking for (tax i.d. number) or what to give me. She requested I fax in the form, that they were NOT going to complete and submit, so she could figure it out.

I visited this office a couple of weeks ago and was seen by Dr. Bonvecchio. I was very impressed. She was very kind and professional. I decided to bring my two children in to the office for examinations as well, since they do pediatric optometry here as well. My 4 ½ year old was seen by Dr. Bonvecchio and had a great experience. As it ended up, it was a good thing I brought her in, because she needed glasses! My 2 ½ year old saw Dr. Tsang, she was so sweet and kind to my little girl. She really made it easy and fun for her to be there. It was a much smoother examination than I expected. I would recommend this office to anyone!

I agree with this Unilocaler: this office is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. Moreover, my optometrist was very thorough and detailed. She kept me there a little longer, but it was worth it. She gave me insightful tips and feedback to improve my vision, and also counseled me on how to maintain my vision during the day while at the computer (the obvious: hydrate).
Also, their staff helped me find a stylish, comfortable pair of Cole Haan glasses within 10 – 15 minutes. Normally, this is not an easy task because glasses (like jeans, bikinis, etc) are not easy to find and fit. She’s an expert.
This is a family-​friendly office as well. Not having a family of my own, I was impressed with how easygoing everyone was.
Also important: they have an excellent selection of magazines. :)

This place has it going on. Their optometrists and support staff are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. I actually enjoy getting my eyes checked. I even convinced my husband who had NEVER EVER had his eyes examined to come here (looks like somone dropped the ball). He did, and even enjoyed himself! We see Dr. Tsang — she has a great personality and is well-​spoken.
This office is quite popular, with children and adults alike. I understand why!
